I have been to most salons in the area. Pinky's have amazing nail artists. They quality supplies. I am very particular about the shape and not having tiny bubbles visible in the top coat. I always get pink and white acrylic in a french manicure style. The shape is exactly what every time. The service is amazing. I called ahead and the gentleman on the phone told me to come in at 1:00pm and then when I got there I was told they couldn't take me for a pedicure for an hour so I left and came back. Waited another 30 minutes. He did kindly offered for me and the others waiting to sit in the massage chair. The staff was friendly, and the massage in the chair was nice while I was waiting. PINKY's is convenient because they are open on Mondays while a lot of the other salons are closed but they have a hard time managing their appointment book and walk ins. This nail salon has really awful customer service and they also did horrible work. When I originally got my nails done they weren't terrible but after a week 2 broke. When I returned for them to be fixed I was treated extremely bad. While I waited for an hour, I asked how much longer? The owner, who originally completed the work and at that time was nice, pointed at another nail tech and stated "she will be with you". I was confused because that's not what I asked her, so I asked again, but rephrased the question. I asked how long will she be? I overheard her say to another customer that she only has 2 hands. I was appalled because the question I asked was reasonable, especially after waiting an hour for service. It's been 2 days after getting my nails fixed and again several of them have broken. I came to this salon a few times last summer and was pleased, wasn't the best I've ever been to by far, but good enough considering it was close to home. I've been twice this summer so far. Once for a pedicure which was average at best and my gel polish looks like it had been applied by a child. And now I had gotten an acrylic fill with a gel polish. I originally wanted my Pink and White changed to white acrylic with a design. Obviously too much to ask for. I was talked into a clear fill with white gel polish. The polish once again looks like crap. Messy, sloppy and doesn't even cover the tips of the nails, which I was told was because my nails where too short. Already looks like it's coming off. I'm done with this place. I'd rather drive 40 min to a better salon that actually cares about their customers. Save yourself the time and keep driving by. read more

A two year old could have done better. Wanted a full set which I never usually do but have a dinner tonight wanted my nails to look really good. Was a rush job on their part. Too thick, sloppy and cut my cuticles on three different nails. My daughter was so embarrassed for me and I was so traumatized. The nail technician that did hers took his time and did a really nice job. She went back in to ask for a refund on my botched job and was told we don't do refunds. There were so many things wrong with this visit. I could write a laundry list of all the reasons I'm never going back, but why. I will give them this, everyone was SUPER NICE! Unfortunately, that can't make up for the overall experience. I scheduled a mani/pedi in advance but was made to wait 30 minutes after my appointment time due to walk-ins. The pedi was... fine. Not good, but I've actually experienced worse. The manicure was/is a complete debacle. He "pushed" the cuticles, but only trimmed one hand (which we all KNOW post-quarantine they were BOTH in need!). He asked about the shape, then did what he wanted anyway. I had to have him re-file several nails because they were lopsided. Finally, when there was virtually no nail LEFT to file, I took the emery board and did it myself. As for polish, I left that salon with polish on my ACTUAL FINGERS. The appointment was two days ago. The polish has chipped on nearly every nail, the cuticles look a hot mess, and I'm still not happy with the shape. Now, if you're looking for a full-set of acrylics as my friend was - BEWARE. Unless you like that 1994 Jersey look... in which case this is your place. read more

I am from out of state and I have been here twice while visiting family. The spa pedicure is one of the best I have ever had. They don't rush you through it. They massage your feet well and for a worthy amount of time. I'm from a big city with a million nail salons and none do as good of a job for an affordable price as my experience here at Pinky's in MD. My only criticism is it stinks like nail glue. Which I recognize is typical of a nail salon. It was just particularly strong today. And I think fake nails are dumb, which is just my own prejudice. The entire time I was receiving my pedi/mani, I was excited to write a 5 star review. Now I'm just legit scared to go back. The technician was wonderful -- went above and beyond. Sure, the wait was an hour ... but I can't really complain about that. However, when I paid, an older woman (perhaps the owner?) LOOKED IN MY WALLET, saw that I had cash and demanded that I give it to her instead of paying $50 with my card. Of course, I left a generous cash tip due to the fantastic service. I was seriously scared that she might reach over and take my cash. Who does that?? Classless, ignorant, and downright rude. I sincerely hope that the salon reads this and stops these practices. I had the absolute worst experience at this salon, my first experience was ok with Tina, she was nice and pleasant but my second time there was a very rude man (maybe the owner) he did not greet me, began my service by telling me I have to relax and then followed to tell me to watch tv and not him , the way he handle me was as if he didn't want to touch my hands (maybe because I'm black), he accidentally cut me multiple times and didn't apologize, but in the middle of my service he looks over to a Caucasian woman and says "hi, how are you? How was your thanksgiving?" But not ONCE did he greet me or make any type of friendly conversation or gesture, by the time he was done I decided that I was not going to follow through with my second service that I originally came in for, and he did not put lotion on my hands he just hopped up and said "$30" very very rude, they may be racist I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. read more

They do a decent job most of the time except when they file to aggressively and cut the sides of your fingers ( will likely be bleeding when you leave) My last time here they gave me a bogus inflated price on my services and while I was still handing her a nice tip she was speaking in her language talking about me rudely. This time I had and older lady who beat the hell out me and scratched the skin off my shin the whole time meanwhile I'm sitting next to my who is having the time of her life because she sees the difference and as we speak I'm sitting here and grand on gets up and I haven't seen her in five minutes while my wife is in paradise. I was referred by a few people to pinky's and I have been getting my nails done here for over a year now as I am local and I like it a lot! I have no complaints at all I've never had a nail break or any reason to go back for a repair. People are always friendly and it's the same staff every time! My nails looked gorgeous, and so did my toes...until I left the building. Now, I noticed I had bumped my big toe and it smudged. My fault all the way. By the end of the night, my other toes were fine, and I assumed the worst was behind me. The next day, which was my WEDDING day, I noticed one of my nails had chipped. Let's backtrack a bit. I spent $55 on a mani/pedi with gel coat for the fingernails. Gel coat is supposed to last, bare minimum, two weeks. My friend gets hers done with gel all the time and it usually lasts her 3-4 weeks. Was I doing the dishes, doing chores, doing some kind of activity that would result in my nails chipping? NO. I slept. Other people did my hair. I noticed the chip when I was doing my makeup. Even, then, totally forgiveable. But when I took off my shoes at the end of the night, I noticed every. single. toenail was ruined. All of the nails had the polish all folded and squished and awful looking, a full 24 hrs after they were done. (I didn't put on the shoes until at least 2, and I got them done the day before at 1:30). The next day, another finger nail started to chip. By Wednesday, all of my left hand had pieces of the gel coming off. By Monday, a little over a week later, I had to take them all off. A complete waste of money. I think the woman did something to my nails when I told her I didn't want to get the "extra special" pedicure after telling her it was for my wedding. She also gave me a judgemental look when I initially told her I didn't want frech tips: I had wanted pale purple on my nails, with darker purple on my toes. She actually guilted me into french tips. read more

This place was very disappointing. The doors were wide open and flies were everywhere. That should have been my first sign, but having had several people recommend this place, I decided to stay. While the massage I received was great, the pedicure was less than mediocre. When I tried to pay and leave a tip with my credit card, I was told that I couldn't leave a tip on the credit card. I did not have any cash, so the attendant kindly pointed me to a WaWa down the road. She also asked that I get enough cash for the entire service. Really???Once I got out into the sunlight, I could see that red nail polish was all over the skin around my toes and several of my toes were cut too short and were uneven. Well today I went to Pinky's and was pleasantly surprised to find three of my favorite people from LaCure at Pinky's!!! I got a fill and a gel polish with my favorite color, OPI's I'm Really Not A Waitress. So I'm psyched to find good people and service, my nails look great, my eyebrow wax was done quickly and with care, they look great. I'll be going back. Tips at salons are always in cash, I'm not sure why that would surprise anyone. I charged my services though. read more

Pinky's is great for pedicures, the technicians are great (especially Jen & Chase) and they are reasonably priced. My review is based on my experience with acrylic nails as well as the payment methods. If you go for a nail fill only, and not for a pedicure, be prepared to wait, because only two techs, the owners, work with acrylics. If you go for a pedicure and a nail fill, you have a chance of getting your nails done in a reasonable amount of time, because they'll try to time your nails for the completion of your pedicure, well, sometimes. They really need to keep track of the customers who arrive and what they are there for, because I've witnessed people being service out of order and once they start working on someone you're then waiting 30-40 minutes additional for that person to get done before you have a chance to get in line for your nails, all because there are not enough acrylic nail techs. The other annoying aspect of Pinky's is the payment, every single time I'd pay, I would be asked for cash. Usually I use a single card to pay for everything I do, and just pay that off each month. At Pinky's, where they accept Visa and MasterCard, if you try to use a card to pay, you get questioned about why you aren't paying in cash, and asked to pay in cash instead. it was darn near harassing some visits, being questioned about cash payment. Yes, she'd look in my purse and wallet to see if I had cash, it was intrusive. I don't keep much cash on me anymore, but to avoid the harassing questioning each visit I began making sure I had enough cash so it wasn't an ordeal each time. Seriously that needs to change, if you accept credit cards, accept credit cards. I get tips are cash, but if you accept payment for services, don't harass your customers for cash. I hope Pinky's improves. read more

I have been insulted every time I've gone! They always say how my eyebrows need done. They've called me ugly compared to my sister. My sister has gotten 2 infections after going there! The salon is nice and Tony is my favorite technician. I get excellent service from him. Improvements could be made. Perhaps a better system for who is next would be great. ( Take a number like at a deli) Paying seems to be a hassle either take credit /debit cards or only accept cash. The older couple that seems to hang out there should stay away. I have been to Pinkys twice. Both times I got a fantastic spa pedicure, and this time I also got a French shellac manicure. The staff is super friendly, and very good at what they do. I brought my daughter yesterday, and we both had very attentive staff, and the jobs were done well. I drive down from Oxford, because the value is so worth it! Nothing better than flexible, friendly, attentive service at a great price! I've paid a lot more and not been as happy. We will continue to travel to Pinkys. It's a gem of a nail salon. read more

Honestly if I could I would not even give this place a 1 star!! My experience here was absolutely horrible. I took my 14 year old sister here for her birthday to get a manicure!! Just a simple manicure! As soon as we go in, they pointed us to the nail polish, as we are looking for her color they come up to us and try to get us to pick the gel manicure instead of the regular. They said it would last longer over time and it would look better. I told them she is just a kid, she doesn't need a gel manicure. Gel manicure was $30.00 plus, she would have to keep coming back to maintain. They seemed very upset. After we picked her color and sat down for her to get her nails done, I asked if the color she picked changed with her mood....and the technician said "NO, that is only for GEL manicures". Then another technician across the room, says that I should really let her get a gel manicure and that it would make her happy. I told them, no it's okay we JUST want the manicure!! One of the technicians daughters, who couldn't have been more than 5 years old was playing with her musical guitar singalong toy throughout the whole manicure inside the store, and we laughed because we thought it was cute! I told my sister that I probably sang like her when I was her age too, except I probably sang to Madonna. The technician doing my sisters nails made the very rude comment, "what, did you used to live in a barn..??" I was very upset by that! That was very uncalled for! After my sister finally got her manicure done, it was time to pay! I pulled out my card, and the technician said, "what, no cash!??" They only do tips with cash, mind you. Since this was my first time coming here, I did not know that. I asked if we could pay with the card and put tip on it. They said no, and if we wanted to pay with cash for tip we would need to go to the atm. After we paid, they were very cold to us, and didn't even say goodbye when we left. I signed up for yelp just for this review...that should tell you how much I LOVE this place. They are SO GOOD!!!! Prices are reasonable, the level of workmanship and quality is out of this world. Two woman and one child went and had one full set, one gel manicure, two pedicures(including one child), and one child s nails...and designs later...wow!!! They are quick but attentive, and like I said before my nails are wonderful. If u r in the area...and want your nails done or just want something for your self...go here...location is easy to find.. right off of route 40, next to royal farms..across from wawa.
