I live far from this place... Down in Lake Oswego, but it's well worth the drive. The pizza is incredible and the bar selection is the best I've seen in Portland. It feels like a modern day "cheers ", Celeste the owner is bouncing around talking to each table. The bartender is friendly and chatting with everybody. The meatball sub is definitely worth ordering. My new favorite pizza joint. My style of crust which is thin crust but w/ a tad more oomph. Many creative combinations w/ ingredients like finochionna, taleggio , salametti, giardiniera and a few other things I was too embarrassed to keep asking about. And the muffuletta is amazing despite the unfortunate description (Italian baloney sandwich w/ olives&pickled carrots). I was really hoping this spot was going to be really good by looking at all the great reviews and pictures on yelp. But I was wrong... We ordered half cheese and half bacon and mushrooms for $28. The pizza took 45 minutes for takeout. They told us it would be 25 minutes on the phone. The place was not that busy around 7 ish on a Saturday night. The pizza was floppy (no undercarriage) and every time I took a bite I had to be cautious not to take all the cheese and topping with me. The kids did not like the pizza because it tasted like oregano (not sure why you would sprinkle more oregano on top of the pizza when there is already oregano in the sauce?). The oregano overpowered all the ingredients on the pizza. If you are going to order your pizza, I would request no extra oregano added. Unless you are a oregano lover. The bacon and mushrooms half had a very porky flavor. The service was ok. The environment was dark, not kid friendly and had a bar atmosphere. Sigh... This was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Pinky's was our first stop after we arrived to Portland. We were surprised by how busy it was, but after finding out it was trivia night, it made sense. We didn't partake in trivia, so we were sat outside. It was a little cold, and we definitely regretted not taking the pizza to go, but after the pizza came, all of our problems went away. The pizza was so good. We got it with hot honey which was definitely the right decision. The meats were so flavorful and with the ranch, or without the ranch, it was the perfect meal. Came here tonight for the first time and it was awesome. Nice inside, good mix of bar and table seating. Really good pizza, lotta topping options. Also had an arugula salad that was great. I definitely overate. Highlight though was the bar, gigantic selection of whiskey, and they have an option to roll a gaming dice for either a $5/10/20 pour (which correspond with bottom/mid/top shelf). Bartender is a lot of fun and knows an absurd amount of whiskey facts by rote. Love that they repurposed Booker's boxes into coaster holders too. I really enjoyed the place. read more

Ordered for pick up and they called it to the tee and came at our pick up time for a large pie to go. The pizza smelled delicious and came with a nice thin crust with plenty of toppings. They don't skimp on the toppings and all ingredients paired well with each other. We got it to share with folks and it was a hit with no slices left in the box. The pizza was actually a larger portion but it wasn't there too- like the sauce didn't taste like much, but there was plenty of cheese and it filled me up. Total cost with tip, salad and pizza $21. I can't create enough emphasis on how wonderful this place is. You have a wonderful owner who has dedicated her whole tenacious being to running the best pizza restaurant that I've ever been to. A wonderful bartender who is the Rain Man of whiskey if somehow Edgar Allen Poe was Rain Man. A great staff who is helpful and cordial in the most inviting and non-pretentious way. Their house marinara is terrific. It is not too sweet, and not too much of the pizza, as the delicious sour dough bread isn't bread. It's a fluffy pizza pillow that is crispy on the edges if you order the 12" pie. And a little thinner if you order the 14'', but not too thin. Their toppings are the best. To achieve such a variety of some of the delicious things they have is near impossible at their prices. Like I would ask the owner to be my financial advisor. I have no idea how integrity has remained during inflation. They have a great pesto that is vegan. Along with an EXCEPTIONAL romesco sauce. They also make an in-house cashew cheese for people that cannot do dairy. Their V is for Vegetables pizza is a recommendable pie suitable for any vegan. Like you can go to a vegan restaurant, and nothing on the menu is as good as this one pie. If you sub for real cheese too, it is pretty delightful. All of their vegetarian pies are. My favorite is getting the Funky Mushroom with the romesco cold on the side. As soon as I smell that baked taleggio, it's fucking on! That pizza is going to scold the top of my mouth if I don't. The way all those cheeses blend together on top of that bread is like my browser history. Atmosphere is great. You could bring your family or a date. The only thing that's missing is a pinball machine. But it's not really a noisy place like that. A friend suggested we try out Pinky's and so glad we went. It's easy to get to - on Interstate right across the street from Alibi (looks for the monstrous neon lights). I don't go to this neighborhood often and was really happy with the vibe - spacious, wood tables and chairs, dim lights, ample space for small parties and big groups (they had an area with benches in the back that looked perfect for a large party). The place had a nice neighborhood bar feel with a modern look. Staff was super friendly and gave me some samples of the ciders on tap while I waited. I sat at the bar and watch yummy pies emerge from the oven and staff scooping out dishes of homemade ice cream (didnt have a chance to try but it looked goooood). Menu is impressive - one page of salads and appetizers and one page dedicated to the pizza. We opted for a small arugula salad and 'the shaft'. It was packed with meat so we removed a few and added some spicy peppers - which you have a few choices to pick from. While we waited for our food I noticed other couples ordered two pies, and after we got ours I could see why. Salad was awesome - simple but delicious. The pizza was amazing - perfect size for two people, great crust, great toppings right amount of sauce and cheese. My friend loved her manhattan and I enjoyed their lime ginger soda. Pinky's is a really cool and hidden spot for some of the best artisan pizzas and whiskey in Portland. Whiskey - They have everything here from Pappy to Evan Williams, so you'll find some of the best dram here at pretty good prices. I found a pour of Weller CYPB for $15, which was incredibly tasty. An Elmer T. Lee pour was about $12, and that was just as enjoyable. The bartender certainly knew his whiskey and had great recommendations, as did the board announcing new bottles for visitors to try, such as the Old Fitzgerald 15 year (which they have several bottles of). It was fun for this alone, but the pizza was the icing on the cake. The pizza selections were fun as they were not your typical types. You could get your usual cheese or margherita, but they had an option with honey and figs that just blew my mind. This took me back to what Triple Beam Pizza in LA and so many others are doing. It was excellent, and this wasn't just the only pizza that stood out. Everybody at my table was happy, and it fueled quite a discussion. The one thing I would change would be to add table service, as the place doesn't seem to have it in the evenings. I think the staff was nice and likely happy to do something different. I've been to Pinky's several times and it always hits the spot. They just recently reopened dine-in, so we took a chance (they don't take reservations) and went in. I love the vibe - there's always 70s music playing and the decor is retro and funky. There is only 3 or so tables available for dine-in, so take that into consideration if you're going during peak hours. My fiancé is a whisky guy and I'm more of a beer/cider/wine/jungle juice gal and there's always plenty of options for both of us. I was kidding about the jungle juice, but this truly is a place for whisky lovers as they have an incredible selection at decent prices. I got the cider du jour and my guy went for the standard old fashioned. Both were excellent. I went with the Caesar salad to start. I love this salad and usually it's served tossed in the dressing but wasn't this time - no worries - I just needed more dressing. I'm a sauce girl. The dressing though is amazing. It's extremely garlicky though so if you're on a first date, beware... While we are on the topic of salad dressing, I'll say it now - don't order ranch here. It's not a ranch place. Trust me, I rate ranch with a mental ranch rubric. I'm not docking them points because I know ranch on pizza is controversial and I don't need ranch to have a wonderful pizza experience. Plus, I dipped my pizza in the Caesar. I did it, and I'd do it again. We had the double pepperoni pizza. It's delicious. It's sooo greasy and so good. Don't be the person that dabs the grease with the napkin, just don't do it. Bask in the glory of the grease. They have the big pepperoni and the little pepperoni, hence double pepperoni. Damn I love those little pepperonis. I've had a few different pizzas here and they've all been tasty. Plus, they have vegan and gluten free options if that's your bag. All in all, great place. Pizza, pizza, pizza. Something that I have never waited in line for. Here you won't have to. Does this place have the best pizza in town? I don't know. I've never waited in line for pizza. The only pizza that I like that is comparable, is Assembly Brewing. The owner has done a really good job of picking out her ingredients. She has these crazy lemons on some of her pies that remind me of everything I like about Mansaf(a dish from Jordan that has an aged cheese buried in salt.) Is it better than Scottie's Pizza? People won't shut up about that place. It's all I ever heard about in SE. If you really want the Portland pizza experience, go wait in line here, leave, and then get a pie at Pinky's. I swear if you wait in line for pizza anywhere long enough, it will be the best pizza you have ever ate. The Shaft: A pie for the now gourmet who grew up eating Papa Murphy's with food stamps. This pie is the Hungryman of the game. Funky Mushroom: Whatever delightful texture that coats those delicious shroom's, ripping your tastebuds open like a kid on Christmas, I am all for. My mouth is actually watering now. Oh Fancy: Your girlfriend's pie. It's got omega 3's, enough vegetables to make you feel "healthy," and those crazy-ass lemons I was telling you about. The Special: ask what it is. They all are carefully thought out and workshopped. Sometimes they are the mashed potatoes you read about in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory while Veruca Salt smacks on her bubblegum.
