Had never been here before but decided to give it a try recently. Walked in just after opening recently. Nice indoor space with large circular bar and a separate bar area for parties for reservation or larger parties. Cocktail menu is very detailed and offers a wide variety of choices. All made to exacting details. Bartender was great!! We tried the charcuterie board and enjoyed it. Going to go back again and again.

Service was absolutely terrible. Came with a group of 7 for a friend's birthday. We were seated quickly. Drink menu was descent. Took awhile for our drinks to come, about 20 minutes. After delivering our drinks, service went downhill. The waiter came over once but only to the other side of the table. I tried to get his attention but he was gone. I was debating going up to the bar as it was crowded and didn't want to have to wait. Our group stayed for close to 90 minutes. I had to the flag the waiter down to get our check, I actually got up and had to follow him and say we're ready for the check. For our group of 7, he brought one check and said it could only be split between 3 cards. Again, waiter was gone before we could ask him to split the check up. When he did come back, almost 10 minutes later, we we're ready to go. It took another 10min to run our cards. I understand that it was a busy night, at least up at the bar. The downstairs room didn't have many people so perhaps they were short staffed. Whatever the case, service was too slow, inconsistent and not frequent enough for me to return. Drinks were ok. Check out my pic of how much ice they put in my friend's drink.

First time in Portland and first stop of the night -- I'm glad it was here! The cocktails were descent, the vibe super chill, and everyone I met was friendly and easygoing. You can blend into the bar crowd, keep to yourself, or strike up a cocktail convo with the bartenders -- either way, you'll enjoy yourself. Great atmosphere and even better service. Totally agree with all the good reviews! I had the "shadow broken", a mezcal based old fashion, very good!

We wanted to hit a cocktail bar on a weekend and tried this place. Step into this cocktail bar, and you're instantly transported to a world of sophistication and style! The ambiance is absolutely captivating, with mesmerizing lights and a stunning centerpiece bar that's a work of art. The vibe is classy, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a special occasion. We tried their cocktails and they were amazing. Their cocktails are labeled based on the type of drink, for example, spicy and bold, supple and herbal, bright and crisp to get the cocktails based on which mood you are in. The service was prompt. A must visit cocktail bar and you would love it!!

YES, this place is awesome. First of all, please know this review is solely for the service and drinks, we were not here for food. Ok, maybe liquid food. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and wonderful. I would come back just because of this, however, the drinks were wonderful. If you want to order from the menu, they have a very good selection and even a chart to help you decide based on your preferences; e.g. Sweet, Bitter, Light, Heavy, Fruity, etc. Of course, with this kind of establishment, you can have them make something new and interesting if you just provide your flavor profiles. If you are in the area and want a great cocktail, stop in.

Classy bar in Downtown Portland! I visited this bar on a Saturday night and most of the seats were taken, but my group was lucky and we got a table for 4 immediately. Walking-in, the interior was vibey and classy with the dim lights and the projector playing some films. There's outdoor seating and bar seating in addition to the table seating. The bar itself is located in the middle of the room and the bar tenders look like they have good technique when making the drinks. I ordered the Dream Weaver Cocktail and it was delicious. I mainly got it for my love of the pandan flavor. While I couldn't taste too much pandan flavor in the cocktail, the drink was overall good and easy to drink. It didn't taste like poison and was not too sweet. It was strong too which I liked. Despite its smaller size, I did feel a bit tipsy from the drink. It was also only $13 which was a good deal for a cocktail. The service was also good as our server was patient while we were indecisive with the menu. Overall, a great experience here and would recommend anyone visiting Downtown Portland to try this bar.

Outdoor seating in nice weather. Huge window opens to inside bar.

Perfect spot for an after dinner cocktail. Or before dinner. Or anytime! Dark & cozy inside with delicious craft cocktails with names that could entertain you endlessly, it's worth stopping in. Shaken, stirred, frothy - a myriad of combinations - the only problem is the drinks are so smooth they go down way too quickly! We stopped in the other night after seeing Storm Large perform at Portland Center Stage. The two brew pubs next door both closed at 9pm, but even on a Monday, The Teardrop Lounge is open late. Definitely a plus. While the Jersey Girl caught my attention - well because, I'm a Jersey Girl - the ingredients were not my palette. Even though it was late, I opted for an espresso martini, knowing I'd pay the price. Their version is so delicious, I went for it. Just as smooth as I remembered. Everyone in my group ordered something different, and everyone raved about their drink. You just can't go wrong here. The bartenders are expert in their craft. If the extensive menu causes confusion, just let them know what liquors and flavors you like and they will make a recommendation or even whip up something custom .

I really liked this place, super great nighttime bar vibe and the cocktail I ordered was amazing. I just told the waiter what kind of alcohol I wanted and what flavor profile and he picked one, I think it was a gin cucumber jalepeño. They have a lot of cocktail options too.

Super cute venue and amazing vibes!! But staff set this bar far far apart from everyone else in PDX!!! Absolutely love this spot and total vibe!

Wonderfully balanced cocktails and would definitely come back for more. The bar just feels like somewhere people pass through rather than enjoy staying for the whole night. That said, the bartenders are very friendly and make great cocktails.

Intimate cocktail lounge with an extensive drink menu and great vibes! I came here in a group of six and we were given a booth table which was perfect for a group. The service was amazing - the waitress was so kind and patient. Their extensive drink menu is a lot to navigate and she gave us lots of tips. She also offered to make us a cocktail just based on descriptions which I ended up doing, and I was pleasantly surprised. The charcuterie board was also great though the portion is probably best to be shared by 2-3 people. Overall, I highly recommend this bar to anyone visiting Portland!

Ask the Community - Teardrop Cocktail Lounge

    Are children allowed?

I can’t answer with certainty but I’m pretty sure children are not allowed. It’s a mid to upscale cocktail bar/restaurant and I didn’t see any children when I was there. Mostly dates, couples and small groups.

    Do they have food?

Yes they have small plates that are really really good

Do you need to make reservations for big groups?

I would suggest making a reservation on weekends for large parties. During the weekday you can email them. The email is on the website I believe

How is the parking? is there ballet. Can I park my raised truck on the street?

No valet. I found parking nearby on the street. Raised truck would be fine. There are parking garages nearby, but I don't know your height. Perhaps that is out.

    What time is happy hour?

    4-6

    Is this place good?

It's excellent. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and make great drinks. Pricing is reasonable. Vintage or new age drinks, well known or adopted from forgotten mixing books. Definitely worth checking out.

    What's the dress code?

    No, it's Portland.

Does the Teardrop Lounge have a wine list?

They have a token wine menu, but it's all about the cocktails

It is best to come here in large groups because their shared drinks/scorpion bowls are a total showstopper! The ambiance was adorable, with such a nice patio out back--perfect for a warm day! Unfortunately, oysters are only available on Sundays, but we decided to grab a couple of other little snacks instead. We got the steak tartare, and I have to say, it was honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. It had the perfect smoky touch and absolutely hit the spot. We also tried the sardine plate, which was such a fun little snack. The tzatziki sauce surprisingly paired so well with the Spanish sardines and really pulled everything together. Spanish sardines with a Middle Eastern-inspired sauce? Pretty clever! Our server was also lovely and came out to check on us throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. For just a little drop-in snack, the whole experience was surprisingly memorable and definitely left us wanting to come back. Such a cute spot! But let's talk about the crudo. I still think about that crudo. Bright, lemony, silky olive oil - simple but done so well. We even asked our waitress if we can keep the leftover olive oil to use it with the bread we ordered lol The oysters were also fantastic. They were barbecued, which isn't something you see every day. A little drier than a raw oyster, but still full of flavor. Limited seating so be sure to call ahead of time for a reservation if need be.
