He's here for a cat scan. He was given his contrast to drink for the procedure. She told us to take a seat in the waiting area. The waiting area is nice and roomy. The chairs are comfy. They like for them to consume the contrast 15-20mins but if not no more than an hour. He said it want lemony but sour. After he was finished, it took the tech to call him back in about 25 mins. Kenn said the tech was very down to earth as cool. He explained what he was going to do, how long the procedure should take and what to expect. The room was clean, and cold.. tThe equipment looked fairly new. Everything went well. We would recommend them to family and friends.

They answered my questions quickly & professionally. When I arrived at this location, I was told the information I was given was incorrect. I mentioned I would have had correct information if they had answered their phone. I was told they were too busy with other patients to answer the phone & did not have a receptionist. I was unable to receive assistance from this branch prior to my arrival. While I was there, the representative came across as unprofessional & gave me the impression I was an inconvenience & a burden to them. In my opinion I had a very negative experience at this location & would not recommend it.

Especially since my last three visits have all been very fast, the staff very friendly and polite, and the testing went really smoothly without any bruising or digging around for veins. I feel confident the current staff here are complete professionals. Almost all of my visits have been on Saturday mornings. They open at 8am, so we usually arrive early and are the first in line. Most of the time, we are in and out in less than 15 minutes. However, they only have two people working Saturdays, so it depends on how large the crowd is. Typically, you will see 8-12 people waiting to get in on a Saturday morning because they close at 12pm. If you don't arrive early, be prepared for a 45 minute wait. During the week they seem to have three or more people working. My last two visits were on Friday afternoons. The first time I came around 4pm and there was only one person ahead of me. Check in time and being called back only took 5 minutes, half that for the blood draw, and the woman who did it was very sweet. All of my visits, except the last one, have been faxed in by the doctor ahead of time. Since my doctor's office is having issues with new staff, CPL has been really helpful in confirming if they have the order via phone. This has been a lifesaver as nobody wants to fast just to show up with no order for labs! My most recent visit was last week. I was sent directly from the doctor's office with paperwork. It took an additional two minutes to locate one particular lab test, but otherwise it was just as fast as my other recent labs. This visit was a Friday at 2:30pm and there was one person ahead of me and one that came in after me. The blood draw went quickly and the staff was very friendly. Weekday visits will be my preference if I can make it in before they close at 5pm. This location will continue to be my go to as I've had some nightmare blood draws from other labs in the past. Some tips that may help: Do not be concerned if you receive a bill from their Austin office and do not pay it right away. I recently found out that despite giving them insurance each visit, the billing department will defer to what is in the doctor's order in the event of a discrepancy. We had a situation where my husband was seeing a specialist who sent in old insurance information on the order (like really old, not sure how they managed it). A simple phone call and providing the right insurance resulted in a new, reasonable bill being mailed. That being said, please make sure you call your insurance first and make sure CPL is in network. Blood work is expensive! If you have ever, even once, had a blood draw go wrong where they have issues finding your veins and dig around or stick you multiple times, bring a light sweater. Wear it at least 10 minutes before your blood draw. You may be uncomfortable, but if your fingers are even a little cold, you run the risk of your veins trying to outrun that needle. This is one minor thing that has made a big difference in how fast the draw goes and how sore my arm will be. Make sure you stay hydrated, otherwise you'll feel drained, especially in the summer. It seems to help it go faster too, not sure if that's a myth or my imagination. Doesn't matter, staying hydrated is always good advice like wearing your seatbelt, don't text & drive, eat your vegetables, etc. I recommend CPL over other local labs. If you have to get it done, might as well come here! :)
