Dr. Peyton was my mothers doctor. She was great but ever since she left my mother never had the office check up on her she needed refills on her prescription that the pharmacy kept requesting and got ignored by the office. Called today and spoke with someone in the front desk and she was rude so I called back and asked for her name and she said it was Michelle although I'm not sure if that was her real name or not. I can't believe the quality of the office has gone down so low since Dr.Peyton left. Very dissatisfied. Front desk also informed there were a lot of people requesting their medical file everyday. I hope that this is a wake up call for them. read more

Dr Saxena was extremely disrespectful and rude. I've seen her as a teenager and always appreciated that she seemed to speak with confidence and consideration of a deep understanding of medicine, and while she was times brisk and abrupt in her appointments, I never had any conditions/questions/treatments to consider. Today was the first visit back to speak regarding my hormonal imbalance diagnosis (first time discussing an actual issue). I came 15 minutes early, prepared with questions, notes, and a hopeful attitude as I was keen on receiving attention for the same doctor. Within the first 15 minutes, she cut me off and spoke about how there is no catch all solution and disputed and said to "never get vitamin based blood tests" and then immediately moved to prescription medication. It's tough when a doctor jumps in with prescriptions before you have even explained your situation but I went along with her template of "personal medical attention". I told her I felt uncomfortable taking strong medication as I already struggled with imbalances and didn't want to risk any further internal issues. She talked through a new medication (which I hadn't done any research on, unlike all the other ones which I had notes on as to optimize her time seeing me). The breaking point was when I asked a simple follow up - "how do you track negative side effects? And will this all be a measure of hydration as you mentioned liver and kidney health?". She immediately stood up and went off on a rant beginning with "you are overthinking this", I can't waste more time with you there are other patients and we can't spend hours talking through unlikely cases, I'm not a pharmacist and I don't know the side effects. There was a lot more but I honestly am too shaken up by how she felt comfortable talking like this to a patient and don't want to be integrity of this message to be questioned if I try and draw from emotionally charged moments. At this point, I was very upset and crying as she continued (because she did). I stressed to her experiencing this symptoms and coming to her, I am already displaced from my health and body and these questions were so meticulously asked and noted with her time in mind. I write this review not because Shubra Saxena was a bad doctor (she prescribed me 2 pills within 15 minutes and promptly told me my time was up after a 17-minute conversation, and that's a great doctor to stick to their time tables and prescribe!) , but because she is an abominable healthcare professional. Making personal comments and rebukes as I shared vulnerable experiences that brought me to her clinic as a patient, and an absolute disregard to caring for my health. If you are a person that asks why after your doctor rattles off chemical names and if you are a patient who has more than 2 years left to live so will therefore deal with side effects etc., I would avoid Dr Saxena. If you are in a rush for your health and want someone to check off boxes for your physical, maybe she is best. My mom and aunts see her for diagnosis and have always said she is very polite and to the point and maybe because I look younger and am 22 she felt comfortable acting that way. Regardless, as a paying adult with my own healthcare insurance and someone who takes their health very seriously, I would really recommend another doctor. No one should be in a position of vulnerability that is taken advantage of by a healthcare professional, and I truly felt that way leaving her office. read more

Pinnacle has been a disappointment. We recently became their clients after our Physician of 28 years chose to retire. The office is only a 10 minute drive from home. We saw Dr. Peyton once. Shortly thereafter she quit. We have now found another practice but have encountered a problem in trying to get our records in a timely manner. The clerk that I spoke to this past Monday was beyond rude and actually rather nasty when I asked if I could pick up our records. Told me I would have to wait until they were ready to release the records and since I we were not scheduled for blood test for another 2 months we could wait. I guess the clerk has seen the future and that we would have no need to see a Doctor for anything else in the next two months. I hope this can be corrected and the records released. Also avoid the inept lab tech. Our earlier blood tests resulted in both arms bruised and black/blue. Also, for the first time ever (50+ years}, I believe we were overcharged. Our insurance did not cover the full cost of the tests. read more

I was seen by the physician (Dr. Saksena) and have nothing negative to say about the physician and the physical that was performed, it was quick and to the point. However, there was some time sensitive documentation that needed to be completed and faxed over - and I was told that it would be done quickly and should not worry. Two months later, I receive a letter that the physical evaluation was never received and that I was denied coverage for that reason. I called the office and asked about whether the paperwork was ever sent - was promised to be called back. Silence for 2 weeks. I called back, and was not answered directly - again - so I had to ask directly: I was told "No, unfortunately we never sent it, sorry." This is unacceptable. There is responsibility that follows when you promise to do something and not follow through, especially making the patient hunt down whether something was done/not. There should be a trust factor in the patient-physician relationship, and I did not see it through this - very disappointed. I wish I could post a review with 0 stars. read more

I have been going to this ridiculous place for several years, never had any issues up until couple of years. Dr. Peyton & Saksena were diligent with there work but the front desk staff is the incompetent, useless and lazy. I needed to submit athletic form for my daughter, the front desk staff (Christine Kearney) told it will take couple days to get it done, sent her form via email, no respond, I had to go physically to drop of the form, still No respond, called her twice she gave excuses, told her it's important and due very soon, now it has been almost three weeks and NO response. They have become very lazy, incompetent and unprofessional by far. I'm very disappointed, this used to be great facility. Its time for this place to be shutdown. read more

This is the worst primary care physician's office that I have personally been associated with. I've been seeing by Dr. Peyton for the last 12 or so years and very glad that she is no longer there due to retirement, because it now gives me a clear reason to find another office. Their front desk staff makes up the majority of this practice's problem - poorly managed patient intake, scheduling, and explanation/clarification of various topics including billing. They don't give a dime about their patients (customers) - they rush you in and rush you out. There's no human connection there whatsoever. This is rather a huge concern for a medical practice that is intended to take care of people who come to them with concerns with their personal health. If you're looking for a new primary care physician, consider elsewhere. read more

I had blood work performed on 1/28/22. It is now 2/10/22. I've called 3 times to get the results and have been given the run around. The staff is rude, the portal is down and they refused to give me the results over the phone. This blood work is critical for prescription medication. I'm reporting this practice to my insurance company as well. read more

I agree with the other 2022 posts that Pinnacle has gone downhill since Dr Peyton left. There is zero response to messages left on the portal or via email. Refill requests are ignored, no matter the urgency (for example, BP and antidepressant meds). During my physical, Dr Shubhra typed on her laptop the whole time and never did breast or other physical exam. EKG machine was broken, and no future test was scheduled. I cannot even get my medical records and immunizations loaded on the portal. I'm now looking for a new Primary Care Physician. read more

If you want an office that lies to you then this is the place! Got labs in April. Called to get an explanation of the results since they look concerning. The nurse ​didn't know what she was talking about with my results so she said she'll have the doctor call me. Come three weeks later in May, I call back because I haven't received a call yet. They said that the doctor is still reviewing my results? She said the doctor will call me. Fast forward over a month later, now June. I callback and ask what is going on? They say I have to schedule an appointment to have my lab results explained to me. Unbelievable! First of all, why didn't they mention that back in May when I called the first time? Also, why didn't they call me and tell me that some time in between? And yes, I would have to pay a copay of-course! So yeah, If you want a doctor and an office that sees your blood levels in red but don't bother following up, please by all means have at it! read more

I'm leaving two stars because I had a good experience with Dr. Peyton, otherwise I would leave zero stars. The front desk staff is rude and completely disorganized. The paperwork is unbelievable, as is the wait time (over an hour for my initial appointment, and they made me come early!). They messed up an appointment I booked weeks ago, with no apologizes and a terrible attitude, they told me I would have to reschedule. They said my appointment would take 50 minutes, and I'm only allocated 45 minutes for the current appointment booked. Wow. No thanks, won't be going back. My time is important too, and I expect to be treated respectfully. read more

I have patronized the doctors behind this practice for about a decade. I am most familiar with Dr. Peyton although I also have seen Dr. Saksena. From Dr. Peyton I have gone on to other consults as indicated by the condition, generally minor issues overall (not cancer). In my experience, Dr. Peyton's recommendations have been consistent with cautious but not over-testing or procedure-ing healthcare administration, which is what you want. Dr. Peyton also has some common patient pain-points that she reviews as part of annual physical. Dr. Peyton works quickly but won't work too fast or not listen to you, an increasing issue in the healthcare system. Dr. Peyton has been a valuable member of my health-care team and I look forward to continuing our business relationship. read more

I can't believe this place- first they charged me a copay for my annual physical though my insurance covers it 100%. I was told they would reimburse me as soon as my insurance is verified. When I called inquiring about the refund, I was told they considered the visit as preventive because I asked the doctor 1 question that she replied to by "yes". That is absolutely unethical business practice. So am I supposed to go the doctor's office and be quiet or wonder if they would charge me for a question or not??! In addition I was told I would receive a call with my test results within 1 week. Never received that call till I PERSONALLY called a month later. I will never go back. read more

I've always had a great experience here. The doctors take their time to listen, and were the only ones to accurately diagnose me. Previous to making the switch I had gone to another popular practice in South Riding, where they failed to catch the glaring issue. I can always get an appointment quickly, and they don't make me wait in the waiting room, or exam room. The nursing staff is great - knowledgeable - professional. I did have an issue with a cancelled appointment charge, but it was taken care of with one quick phone call - and I only mention this to balance those reviews complaining about the administrative side of the practice. read more

While my husband and I have seen many doctors in our adult lives, we never committed to a doctor or practice until we saw Dr. Saksena. We started getting our care at Pinnacle Family Practice a couple of years ago on the recommendation of our best friends, who followed Drs. Saksena and Peyton from their old practice and whose entire family is treated there. Dr. Saksena is very knowledgeable, down to earth, and cares about the whole health of a person. We've been pleased with Dr. Peyton, as well. Patients should enter this practice with the understanding that it is a two doctor practice, small and independent. The answering service on evenings and weekends isn't the same as at a corporate practice. Just call back during business hours and they will take good care of you. They have always been able to fit us in on short notice and we've been pleased with our care. read more

Giving 2 stars for dr. Peyton. I have nothing against her. I hate the front office professionals. I had to cancel an appointment within 24 hours notice as my baby fell sick so badly over the weekend and my appointment was Monday morning. The front desk said I can't cancel and have to pay the double amount of no fee as physical checkup requires 2 blocks of time. Really? Doctors have never been with me more than 10 mins in any of my past physical exams. They never remind you of your appointments like other doctor office do and they talk in a insensitive manner. In my opinion, the most unprofessional thing you can do is not return someone's call. I realize the doctors are very busy, but I left a message with their lovely medical assistant Kyle who I know for a fact passed it on to them. They never called me back and I chose to take my business elsewhere as should anyone who reads this review. read more

I love both Dr. Peyton and Dr. Saksena, and their care for both me and my daughter has been outstanding. The front desk staff are a bit variable....Ingrid is fabulous but beyond that there have definitely been a few hiccups with other staff members (front desk and nursing staff) with messages not getting through, no return calls, and a health form I submitted for my daughter that needed to be filled in being scanned and added to her file not given to the doctors. I have no problem following up with things myself and understand how hectic practices can be and how challenging getting front desk and auxiliary medical staff up to speed so I give them some slack, but if you're looking for a group where you don't have to do any chasing, this may not be for you. read more

Their apparent greed and inability to work with patient's circumstances saddens me. Used to go to a large family practice and get a new physician every year and thought it might be a good idea to switch to a smaller practice where there is no physician turnaround. My first visit with Peyton was fine, except i went in for 1 visit (a physical) and got billed for 2 visits . I understand that technically, refilling prescription is not part of the physical and can be billed separately, but I have HDHP so i am paying 100% out of pocket and my last physician practice never billed me a visit for refilling prescription. Last straw was that I asked to get blood work done before the required 3 month visit so we can discuss results, they agreed on the phone, booked an appointment. When i got there, my orders weren't there and neither was my appointment. They refused to just get the orders for blood work without a Office visit and the best they can offer me is to visit with the other physician. Sounds like they just want to bill me another visit without discussing my results until the next visit. read more

They are new and are probably too eager for profit. Dr. Peyton once at a preventive checkup asked me if I travel internationally, and my answer was yes and she charged additional for something like "international travel consultancy". I had since stayed away from her. Dr. Saksena is much better, caring and smart. Unfortunately I will not go back as their office is not doing right in customer service. One day they called me very late in the afternoon (5-6PM) asking if I can come next day around 11AM (or maybe 12PM) to fill in a spot left by someone else who cancelled it. The next day I was very busy and couldn't make it. They charged me penalty for missing appointment claiming 24 hours cancellation notice is needed. This is not reasonable customer service as I was not even given 24 hours for making this appointment. I am disappointed at how they handled a special case and since have pulled my whole family from their practice. read more

My family has been seeing Dr. Peyton for nearly 15 years and have always felt very fortunate to have her as our doctor. From the beginning, she has always demonstrated true caring and compassion and has taken the extra time to establish a good relationship with each member of my family. When my youngest daughter was a newborn with a cold and seemed to be having trouble breathing, she called me right back with recommendations, although it was around 10PM. It also really impressed me that she always took the time to explain things to my kids - even when they were only 2. She has always gone the extra mile. Before we saw Dr. Peyton, we had gone to several doctors at multiple practices. Many of the doctors at other practices seemed to discount symptoms that turned out to be quite significant. Doctor Peyton is very thorough and really listens to what the patient says, without discounting your concerns. When Dr. Peyton switched practices, I tracked her down to her new practice because I have never had a doctor I trust as much as Dr. Peyton. read more
