2/28/26: it was disappointing eating lunch at The Farm. Years ago we had eaten at Quiessence and…read morehad a lovely time. Wanting to try another of their restaurants before the ungodly heat arrived, we decided to stop in for lunch. Parking: can be a bit nerve wracking, especially parking in the dirt lots east of the place. You have to walk across 32nd St & if you know Phoenix drivers, this can be dangerous. There is a pedestrian light now, though, so that helps -- but oddly enough, there's no "walk" signage. It's merely a blinking yellow light for north- sound-bound traffic so you have to pray to the universe drivers are paying attention & actually stop for you. Ordering: a bit odd. The main door we went in was more the middle door that didn't really take you to the beginning. There's a drink station then the food station. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. So we joggled w/ another customer trying to figure out who was there first. It honestly felt like a school cafeteria, a bit chaotic, as well as cramped. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Food: not worth the $77 we paid. I get it's a working farm, & though we try to support local as much as possible, the food we ordered was not good enough that we will stop by again. The strawberry fields salad was a typical salad, no wow factor there. The Italian sammy was dry. There was a minuscule amount of some kind of dressing on it, but def not enough. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland. Two "specialty" drinks, a salad, a sandwich, & two small desserts, for $77? No, sorry, not again.

They provide very high quality services and products at reasonable prices. I love how everything is seasonal so transplants or seeds you buy will usually take off well. The service is unmatched compared to other gardening places I've been to. Employees that I've talked to have all been very knowledgeable and helpful. The overall vibe is that people there want a greener Phoenix and genuinely want you to succeed in all your gardening endeavors. I recall nearly buying a chilipin pepper and Daniel showing me where it lands on the scoville heat scale to make sure I knew what I was getting into. I remember Zach seeing I had all 4 of my little kids with me in line and him helping me check out quickly- even throwing in a free transplant to my purchase! The classes are a great deal for all the hands-on experience you get, not to mention the hand-outs, thorough class notes and you can bring a friend along with you at no additional cost! They even have a playground for kiddos of the customer and free self-guided tours. If you are an AZ gardener (or want to be) the AZWF is a MUST visit location!

So far, I'm into week 4 of Maya's Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) for Winter 2013. I've…read morereally been excited every week to receive the wonderful veggies and fruits. If you are not familiar with a CSA and how it work, here's a down and dirty explanation. You pay a certain amount of money in advance for several months of veggies each week. In this case, Maya's farm charges about $300 for 12 weeks of a whole heck of a lot of veggies that are certified organic. You support your local farmers and you know where your food is coming from. I recommend that you swing by the farm and take a stroll around. You might see Maya. I've met her and I think she's a very nice person. I will update this review with more info but I think the pictures that I post of Maya's Farm CSA speak for themselves. My only wishlist with Maya's farm is to have a half-basket. My small family and I can't finish all the veggies in one week.

The farm was easy to find and had clear signage to follow for parking. I walked around the grounds a bit and enjoyed the flowers. The salvia especially stood out as looking so healthy! And of course, the lavender - a plant I always struggle with! I stopped in the shop and picked up some lavender goodies including a blueberry lavender drink and a lavender sugar cookie. The drink is light and subtle. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. Its also not carbonated. They had other flavors as well. The cookie is SO GOOD. Next time I'm getting 2! The shop is cute and has a lot to look at, and the woman working was friendly and helpful. There are water features and lots of seating areas around. I took my drink and cookie to a seating area and just enjoyed the scenery. I asked one of the staff members -- all really friendly and welcoming! - and yes you could bring a sandwich and enjoy it here. Make a whole meal and get a cookie! They do tours of the mansion, which looks quite impressive and I look forward to learning about its history. There are also soap and candle classes and various seasonal events. I'll definitely keep a watch on the calendar!

I'm so sad to be writing such a negative review, but the owner has left me no choice after…read morereceiving such poor customer service. I went to a personal shopping appointment on December 28th and picked out a lovely monstera. We went throughout the rest of our tour and noticed palettes and palettes of dead plants. Crotons, herbs, etc. There were several heart leaf philodendrons and pothos that had been left for dead too. My friend, who was at the appointment with me, commented on it, and I justified it. "I'm sure plenty of nurseries look like this behind the scenes too. Not 100% of the plants make it 100% of the time. This is what behind the scenes looks like." But then I had to intervene twice with the pothos I got. I got it home and it began to yellow, no doubt due to the most compact, overwatered soil I've ever seen. I dug her out, inspected the roots, trimmed away some yellow leaves, and combined her with another pothos. To make a long story short, through a local FB group, a handful of women and I were able to connect over our declining monsteras. Each of us had purchased a monstera from Abby Lee Farms at around the same time and were having identical problems. We were all experiencing black/brown spots surrounded by yellow. All of us have multiple happy and healthy house plants, including other monsteras. All of us were stumped as to what this could be, as were other experienced house plant owners that we convened with. After going over our various conditions, we discovered the only commonality was where we got them. We reached out to the president and founder via email, and were met with some of the worst customer service skills. His initial reply to us was helpful in tone (he even offered a smaller replacement), but that quickly faded as we poked holes in his theories. He purported that my problem was that I used neem oil to shine the leaves. That's a common practice of plant care, none of my other plants have similar damage, and the propagations I took from this monstera shortly after I got it home have zero damage. Another woman's problem was that she severely underwatered hers. He was rudely adamant that the varying conditions of our homes were the cause. He wouldn't even consider the fact that something had maybe gone wrong while at their green houses, even though he admitted to me in an email that they make mistakes all the time (ya know, just definitely not this one). His emails got increasingly antagonistic. Eventually it became that we needed to return the monsteras we purchased, which we all found to be a ridiculous request considering we had all done the work of removing the infected leaves. What was left of the plants were the healthiest leaves that we could salvage - all of which have incurred no damage since being removed from the soil/mother plant. You would think that if our conditions were the problem then those trimmings would continue to decline too. All this to say, we are very upset with the lack of customer service skills we were given. The founder and president is too close to the situation, as it's his business, to be responding to customer service emails. We all feel he took things too personally and was unnecessaril y rude. We are all reasonable women and we know that things happen and that businesses have problems/issues, but what speaks VOLUMES is how problems are handled when they arise. This is probably one of the poorest experiences I've ever had as an adult. As far as I'm aware, none of us have any intentions of returning to this establishment or recommending it either.

I feel so sad to give a local nursery such a low rating. I've been to most nurseries in the valley…read moreand I have to say I won't be returning to this one. There are a few reasons for this poor review. I want to start by saying I am not new to plants. I have a large collection of successful plants that have been thriving for years. I grew up gardening and owning indoor plants even as a young girl. I purchased a heart leaf philodendron which was clearly over watered which I rehabbed and is now doing much better after a change of soil. I also purchased a Tradescantia zebrina which seemed happy at the time but as time went on declined rapidly. Any time I even would touch this usually hardy plant, large branches would fall off. This plant is not hard to grow by any means it's one that I commonly recommend to my friends who are new to plants. I went into the soil and realized that it was not established what so ever In the soil. It had no roots at all. So it was clearly just chopped from a mother plant and placed into soil. Which I actually wouldn't have minded if I was told this along with my purchase because I would have cared differently for it. Now the part in which I have a 1 star. My friend and several other people I know of have gotten monsteras from this nursery and all their plants died within less than a month. They had to chop and prop. When they reached out to the nursery the man was incredibly rude as I saw the emails he sent. Blaming them for the decline of all 6 of their plants and continuing to bully them and tell each of them they cared for their plant carelessly. The experience I had paired with these other 6 woman is unacceptable. The customer service on this end is not something I or anyone else should accept.
