Wanting to try another of their restaurants before the ungodly heat arrived, we decided to stop in for lunch. Parking: can be a bit nerve wracking, especially parking in the dirt lots east of the place. You have to walk across 32nd St & if you know Phoenix drivers, this can be dangerous. There is a pedestrian light now, though, so that helps -- but oddly enough, there's no "walk" signage. It's merely a blinking yellow light for north- sound-bound traffic so you have to pray to the universe drivers are paying attention & actually stop for you. Ordering: a bit odd. The main door we went in was more the middle door that didn't really take you to the beginning. There's a drink station then the food station. We skedaddled to the right of the main doors for the drink order, only to discover there's another door that people walk through to place orders. So we joggled w/ another customer trying to figure out who was there first. It honestly felt like a school cafeteria, a bit chaotic, as well as cramped. The patio was pretty large & well shaded, but it was also full -- and this particular day also the ONLY SHADE. We were left to sit at one of their many tables on the grounds with no shade. Food: not worth the $77 we paid. I get it's a working farm, & though we try to support local as much as possible, the food we ordered was not good enough that we will stop by again. The strawberry fields salad was a typical salad, no wow factor there. The Italian sammy was dry. There was a minuscule amount of some kind of dressing on it, but def not enough. Dessert: red velvet whoopie pie was so overpriced it's not funny. If it tasted great, I wouldn't complain...it did not taste great. The pecan pie was abysmal; not enough filling and very bland. Two "specialty" drinks, a salad, a sandwich, & two small desserts, for $77? No, sorry, not again.

Crooked Sky Farms provides the produce for this CSA, so ably coordinated by Mateo and his family. In the sprawling Phoenix metro area, it can be hard to feel like you are a part of something. When I pick up my weekly CSA share, though, I get to meet my neighbors. I get to support a local farmer. I get fresh, organic, seasonal produce for less than I would pay at the grocery store. Over the course of trying to get basic information regarding my weekly pickup, I reached out through every single channel provided: the designated CSA line, the farm store number, Instagram, and even their restaurant/wholesale line (which, embarrassingly, is a dead line). Not a single person answered. To make matters worse, when messages did go through, I was repeatedly left on read. A few weeks ago, I had to waste an hour of my day driving 40 minutes out of my way to the physical store just to get basic questions answered because their customer service department is utterly non-existent (a fact that even their own front-desk worker acknowledged with total confusion and annoyance). Taking people's money and then stonewalling them when they ask simple, necessary questions about the service they paid for is negligent, amateurish, and fundamentally disrespectful. They should be thoroughly ashamed of how makeshift, disorganized, and dismissive this entire operation is. My husband has been here a few times and has loved the food everytime. They do sell out of things FAST so if you're wanting something specific, earlier is better. He's gone a couple hours after opening twice and they had already sold out of the brisket tacos he was wanting. Aside from that, nothing bot positive things to say about it. We love coming here!

At the grocery store I buy 6 gallons at a time, I tried the strawberry milk from Danzeisen dairy about 2 weeks ago and wow just wow. I've been buying 2 half gallons a day and it just isn't enough. The gallon is gone in just a few hours (if that). It does cost a little more than the store brand milk but trust me it's WELL worth it. I find myself craving the stuff as soon as I run out. Gonna have to start buying 4 half gallons a day. (Like I said I still buy store brand milk and drinking the Danzeisen dairy milk has not ruined drinking other milk for me. In my opinion, if you don't try their milk at least once your cheating yourself out of something absolutely amazing. Please ship extra to the Fry's located at 4505 E Thomas road in Phoenix, they were sold out last Friday and said they only get a delivery once a week on Monday.
