We contracted Star Glass to install a piece of shower glass upstairs at a home we were remodeling…read morefor our son. Brian, the owner, came to bid the job. We explained we wanted a long piece of glass that would go all the way to the ceiling. He said that was no problem, took measurements and ordered the glass. We mentioned we were on a tight time line. We had a railing being installed and told him that the railing and the shower glass had to be installed before the appraiser could come to do an inspection. And the appraisal had to be done so our son could get a mortgage on this home he was purchasing from us. Brian said he would have the glass installed in time and asked if we could be sure the railing was not put up so they could get the slab of glass upstairs more easily. We accomodated his request and held off on the railing install. About a week later Brian called and said the glass came in but the holes were drilled incorrectly so he would have to re-order another piece of glass. Now we're at 3+ weeks and have had to hold off the railing guy twice. They rescheduled the glass install a couple times, no call no show and finally showed up on the 3rd time w/3 guys. The 3 of them were cussing and yelling the whole time while trying to get the piece of glass upstairs. They damaged the fresh drywall and chipped the tile staircase in several places and after several hours with no success, ended up leaving the piece of glass laying up against the wall in the loft. The glass now had a 17" long chip on one end. After another week and a half of begging them to install this glass and them saying they were trying to find the installers to do the job, they finally said they were done. We were left with a chipped piece of glass laying against the loft wall with no install in sight. After several more conversations with the owner, he finally referred us to another company to install the glass. This company of course over-charged us for the install because well....they could. We were desparate to get the glass installed. We had to pay an additional fee to the appraiser to re-inspect and after all that, the interest rate lock my son had on his mortgage expired, costing him hundreds more dollars. We still have to get the drywall and the stairs repaired and the glass has a long chip down the side that is very visible when you enter the primary bathroom. In all honesty, they should cover the cost of the repairs, cover the cost of losing the interest rate lock and replace this glass with a slab that isn't damaged but yeah...not likely to happen! Brian did refund my deposit but honestly that doesn't begin to cover the cost of this fiasco. Sounds like they should stick to windshields.

First win - the young lady answered the phone on the second ring. Second win - she asked me to hold while she checked to see if the technician to cut a specific size of glass was still around in the back. Third win - she confirmed that he was available, they were still capable and willing to accommodate my request. Fourth and final win and requires props - I am now a "customer for life" with Five Star Glazing. I showed up to pick up my piece of glass. The owner actually assisted me with replacing it in the frame, put it back together, and helped me in every way he could, going WAY above and beyond What I expected to encounter. They have the customer at front of mind, just like we expect it to be, but rarely if ever encounter any more. They even stock ancient parts as he produces them with technology as a friend. Call them and talk to Selena or Ben if you have a special need or request. Clearly, they focus on customer service and satisfaction and are just great at what they do and very kind. If you need anything Glass related - these guys are the best I've ever seen at serving customers and having the knowledge to provide you with a solution.

We had copper state, come out and install a new front window. Prior to them arriving our door shut…read moreproperly and had a crack through 2/3 of the door.. We called Copperstate as they were close to our office. After the glass door was repaired our office door would no longer shut properly. We called the company back to resolve the issue. . The owner out of frustration put their knee through the glass shattering the door. He then left and accused us of not wanting to pay. Phone calls and cameras captured everything and at no point did our company refuse to pay? We just wanted a door that worked properly prior to their installation to work after their installation. Phoenix police have been notified. Based on the owners response, even the police think he's done this behavior before. Update : we had a another company come out and assess the door. Copperstate cut the glass too short and then try to hodgepodge the door with super glue to fix an improper install.

We had several jobs lined up for this so called glass company and we ended up taking our business to a REAL glass company. When they showed up the 1st time an hour late and smelling of booze, we were put off but the fellow seemed very nice, at first... once he started measuring the glass for replacement, he took a liking to our receptionist and stopped working and sat on edge of her desk asking her what she did for fun... at that point our manager stepped in and asked him to leave as he was making our employee uncomfortable. That's when the attitude and anger came out as he swiped the papers off her desk, he said "ok fine you don't want me here and don't be surprised if all your windows are broken tomorrow because we have faulty glass in our building". Really shocked at this experience and at that point we told him again to leave and the police were on the way to remove him if he didn't leave immediately. Once he was finally gone , our manager called Copper state to complain and spoke with Ron. Ron simply told us we must be mistaken as his employees don't act in that manner... shocked is hardly the word here! Our manager didn't want to debate the issue and simply told him, maybe you better do a quality check on your employees because you are out of touch with your company and it's customer service. Ron said we should find another company to deal with as he is tired of getting calls about his employees!!! Well if that don't say it all!!! Then we check yelp, should have done that 1st but now we know and based on other feed back on yelp, we can see they are going in a downward direction and can't see their own flaws. Good Luck Ron , maybe you just disconnect the phone so you don't get any more calls about your terrible employees!!!
