I tried calling and leaving a message and using their websites "contact us". I got no response. Terrible customer service.

This is such a great gym. It is small, friendly, has a good variety of equipment, and is rarely crowded.

My family has been going for years and I started training with Doug, the owner, at the beginning of the summer.

Update: This location has used their Covid months well. They have overhauled this location and it…read moreis looking much better than before. There is a different energy here now. I did cancel my membership last week just because of the city mask policy and found another gym. Pros: More machines now. Larger space. Spa services is now a real thing. They are taking cleanliness a little more serious. Cons: It can still be bigger. Exterior lockers. The locker rooms/bathroom/showers can be bigger. This location is now competing with other Planet Fitness locations. I think they took my comments seriously. I will not work out with a mask on though. Original Post: Compared to other Planet Fitness locations this is probably the worst one in Philadelphia and it shouldn't be.   Pro's:  Parking always available/ Open 24 hour's/ Close to the park/ Close to a supermarket/ Cool patrons for the most part. Cons:  Small location/ Staff is not rude but disinterested/ Lack of space in the stretch area/ My last visit had all the sanitizer wall stations completely empty/ My last visit I saw 1 paper towel station completely empty with 4 worker on duty, so people either left the machines unwiped or walked all the way across the gym.  I had to speak with an attendant.  / Small bathrooms. / No outside lockers, just locker room lockers.   This gym needs a Grand Re-Opening after a Grand Closing.  The there should never be any station restocked in a gym this small, especially in the time of COVID-19.  I'm not sure why the staff is always on their phones on the way in or out and look unsure of whether to greet customers or say goodbye.  I find myself driving 3 miles away to Center City or Island Avenue or 6 miles to South Columbus Boulevard because of the size and the environment.  Coming to this Planet Fitness feels like the owner was trying to save a Buck at your expense.  I cannot imagine that the staff is well cared for either.  The best part are the people who genuinely want to workout and shape their body.  The rest is lackluster.  I hope this community receives a better gym, they really need it.  Perhaps they need some competition. Two stars because the machines seem to work. That's really it…read more I signed up for planet fitness about a year ago after having just temporarily moved to West Philly so of course, I made this one my home gym. That was my mistake for choosing without having actually visiting this location first, because I was unaware of not being able to switch home gyms for a period of time after you sign up. Whatever. No big deal. I am a black card member and was working on the Main Line so I always went to the Ardmore location because it was just easy to go there right after work. One day, my mom came to visit and she (also a black card member) wanted to go. She knew I hadn't been to my closest location so she wanted to check it out. The location is very small compared to others, and has limited machines, but it wasn't packed so we continued to check it out. We went into the locker rooms, the floor was sticky. She wanted to use the bathroom but the stalls had not been cleaned. Walking out into the gym area, the floor was still sticky, I guess from people tracking whatever that was throughout the gym, and even some of the treadmills were sticky. It was just one of those situations where I just didn't want to touch anything. Just wasn't for me. I'm not sure if they were having an off day as far as cleaning goes but... nope. The staff is unresponsive... Like they might as well not even be there ever and I wouldn't notice. We left and went to Ardmore. Needless to say, as far as size, machine variety, staff, and cleanliness, I'd suggest either going to Ardmore or Fox Street -- Fox is the best!

Sore abs, chest, legs and bum, My muscles worked from toes to my head. Well, the workout's coming and the blood is pumping, What a surprise, see nobody's running! Didn't make sense not to just have fun, Thirty minutes, and the workout's done. So much to work, I break a sweat Nicest trainers that I ever met. You'll never know if you don't go. Get done so fast, move your muscles slow. Hey now, you're at X-force, get your sweat on, go play. Hey now, somewhat pricey, but you get what you paid. And all that sweat, liquid gold. This workout for sure breaks the mold.... X-Force is a hell of a workout. You don't necessarily realize it as you're going through, but you're working muscles in a way that you can't do with normal machines. That probably explains the hefty price tag. I'll admit: I was writing about the workout, so I was able to try it for free, but I don't think I could swing this regularly. That said, for folks that live or work in Center City and have the money to spend, once a week 30 minute sweat session definitely sounds appealing. AND I was sore for about 2-3 days after. The locker rooms are truly sleek and executive, and the showers are fit for a queen (or king, I imagine). Everyone at the gym that I met was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. I can see why the fans are die-hard!

I think this mode of exercise is valuable but depending on your instructor, the experience can…read morediffer greatly. My instructor seems to lose interest in me early on and look out the window when I was working on a machine. I developed an injury ("golfers elbow") which I mentioned and was dismissed by my instructor. They also suggested I come in to workout when I had Covid, saying it was okay if my symptoms were mild. I have 9 More sessions but I'm hesitant to go back because of a lack of concern for basic health issues around Covid and a disregard or lack of interest in proper form to avoid injury. The focus seemed to me on adding weight like CrossFit.
