I was on the trail and my lock ring to the disk brake came undone. I was really upset as I had just got my new bike out for the season. Came by this shop and he had me up and running in 15 minutes. If you are looking for a shop for the everyday bike owner, don't bother coming to this place. I stood at the desk at least 10 minutes waiting for the employee to get off the phone and actually help me. And to my dismay, he wasn't even attempting to get off the phone, he just let it wind down, as I stood there. It was honestly a pretty strange experience. When he finally did ask me what I was looking for, I told him I was looking for specific tools for some bottom bracket maintenance. Without skipping a beat he told me they don't carry those tools, without any observation of the retail display of tools right next to us on the wall. After that he said he could order the parts, but before that thought was even completed, he said he was actually going away for a race, and then he flat out refused to order anything for me. Chris Slack is a good a mechanic as I've seen. I've bought 4 wheelsets from him and he stands behind his work with pride. They are excellent and he sees that they'll stay that way. When he tunes up my bike, it comes back looking and performing like new.
