My husband and I are purchasing a home, and if you're not living under a rock, you've heard what a HORRIBLE market this is for buyers. It REALLY is as bad as they say. My husband and I found out there is a leak at our home that's in escrow and we are due to close in TWO DAYS!! We were freaking out! What is this new leak? I demolished my bathroom unnecessary. The technician came out a second time and with my plumbers assistance found the actual leak over 40 feet away in the kitchen. Pinpoint is ignoring my phone calls. The Ventura County DA is now getting involved. This has cost me $15,000.00 over what it should have cost if they had located the actual leak. I am a Senior and this is a lot of money for me. Pinpoint is not being honorable or reputable. I want them to cover the repair of the actual leak and damage which my insurance would have covered if they had found the real leak. The plumbing in our house was elderly and there was only one mainline hookup for our house. In order for Pinpoint to look at our sewer connection, they had to go through our house. Fast forward to six months later when we discover that the mainline under our house is completely corroded, something that Pinpoint missed. When asked if this meant that there might be cracks in our mainline to the sewer, they basically told us that there's no way they could tell "if the cracks are covered in sediment and the system is working the home inspector would be hard pressed to uncover an issue like this at time of inspection." Did not feel I could trust their work, especially when buying an older house. read more

I noticed the water in my pool had been going down quite a bit and figured we have some sort of leak. I was referred to Pinpoint by the company that did a lot of work in my backyard. When I called to schedule appointment I was never advised that there is a minimum $265.00 fee. The serviceman arrived and also never provided a quote, Strike1. He said in order to locate leak he needed to cut a hole in my ceiling however he came unprepared and did not have any protection for my floors so he asked If I had something he could use. I gave him a sheet and when he was done cutting sections of my ceiling he left the entire mess for me to clean up. Strike 2. When he was done, and did I mention that he DID NOT FIND THE LEAK, he handed me a bill for $265. When I questioned the high amount considering he did not find the leak his response was, "Don't worry, your insurance will cover it". Strike 3. I reached out to contact the owner by phone later the same day to discuss my experience and he never had the courtesy to call me back. This company is unprofessional and I would not recommend. Donlon Plumbing in Oxnard subcontracted this service to identify the source of a water leak in the kitchen area of my home. While the inspection was timely and thorough, the technician speculated the source was a exterior planter sprinkler spraying against the house since water was dripping from the adjacent foundation. I found their inspection result dubious. After the inspection, I informed Donlon Plumbing that water continued to drip from the same area whenever water pressure was turned on and would cease when turned off. Pinpoint was called back out to reinspect and concluded the interior or exterior walls needed to be opened up to further diagnose the actual source. After discussing Pinpoint's assessment with my insurance company, they called out American Leak Inspection which quickly identified the location of water lines in the wall responsible for leak. In the end, I never received an inspection report from PInpoint and was invoiced $375 by Donlon Plumbing for an inspection that took 30 minutes. read more
