I can not wait to go back here. This place was so much fun. Free classic arcade games, leather chairs set up across from giant TV's and gaming consoles to play all your favorite games. Duck-Pin bowling ( we paid $6 a game), that was set up to notify through Yelp when your lanes were ready. There is large-sized beer pong, some sort of darts game as well. If you get a chance, go upstairs and look at the view of the city and enjoy a little quiet if it is gets too loud in the main area. What a great place to go to! read more

I've been to Pins a few times now during the week and weekends. As with all new/fun establishments in CLT, we flock to them. Aka, it's packed on the weekends. We had an estimated 2.5 hour wait for the pins when we showed up at 4:00pm on a Saturday. We put our name in and decided to wait it out, but with so many people abandoning ship with the wait we got our two lanes next to each other within 1 hr and 45 min. Not bad! They managed expectations well. In the meantime we played a number of the games (skew ball, pin ball, Jenga, ring toss, giant beer pong, etc.) available which helped pass the time. And there were plenty of servers walking around to check in on us for drinks. Rooftop is a beautiful view but also packed. Dogs are allowed inside & outside, so FYI for all those lovers and not lovers of dogs. It was dog central! Just a heads up, I tried the Lisa Frank cocktail. While I love the 90s throwback, that drink is the sweetest thing on earth and I couldn't finish it. But that was no problem, the waitress/bartender took it off my tab no charge! This was super smart for Southend and I wish I thought of it first. It's a super nice space where you don't feel so crowded (I say this since I went when it wasn't that packed so this could be wrong). I think the separation of the areas are well done and genius to keep the arcades free so people stay to drink. Now, the staff are all super friendly and efficient but sometimes to a fault where they took my drink twice where I was almost done but not quite. I wish they would've asked first as a courtesy. Also, while the drinks are cheaper than other places in the area, I wish they weren't so many sweet options. Some more savory or other types of options would be awesome. Regardless, this place is going to kill it and I can't wait to try the duck pin bowling some time. It looks fun since I love bowling and even better that you don't even have to change shoes! Damn, I wish we had a place like this in Jersey. Bowling, life size beer pong, jenga, arcade games, and more! I really liked the vibes here. You also can't go wrong with their beer selection. They had 36 draft beers to choose from. I went with a large Sugar Creek, which I previously tried at a local brewery, but it was sadly short lived since the glass randomly shattered in my hand! The weirdest thing ever. The manager came to make sure I was okay, and I sadly had to settle for a miller lite since they had a smaller selection of beers on their rooftop. Oh well. I survived lol. I later decided to go with their Pins Ball drink. It's a mix of different flavored liquors and a couple of chasers. I was a bit skeptical at first because I'm not a fan of fruity drinks, but to my surprise it was good and well worth the money. Makes for a good picture too :-P. There is no food at the actual bar, but there are a couple of food trucks in front. When I went, there was a BBQ truck and a waffle truck, which appeared to be more for dessert. Bottom line, can you guys open a Pins Mechanical Co. in Jersey City or Hoboken? I'm sure us Northerners would appreciate it. read more

I really wish this place wasn't a pit of unhappiness, overcharging, and rude employees. Sadly that is exactly what Pins is. It has so much potential - and disclaimer, I think it would really be fun on a weekday afternoon or Sunday. But a Saturday night brings out the absolute worst in Pins and management clearly has not figured out how to control this. 1. The line was 45 minutes long and when it started raining, turned into absolute chaos. The 4-5 ID checks along with questioning, mocking from the bouncers, and unnecessary waiting in line to scan your ID at a checkpoint was not run efficiently. The inside was not full to capacity yet the line was absolutely stagnant for 10 minutes at a time. 2. You have to pay for everything, including games that are usually free like the giant beer pong. I don't know if this was only because it was a Saturday, but I found this absurd. 3. They ran out of half the beers by 10PM? I'm sorry but that's just poor planning and poor management. It's not hard to keep beers stocked until at least 10PM. Wish I could say more positive things about this place because the concept is great. I will say that the cocktails are fundamental creative. read more

There's no food inside but there's usually a food truck outside and food nearby and they let you bring it in inside. I only took off a star because quite a few of the games need maintenance and the last time I went the ATM wasn't working and the machines that require payment (not all) don't accept cards. read more

When asked to make a drink similar to old fashioned on the menu but without the fruity blueberry taste, he charged almost $28 for the drink (the menu said $11). When I asked, he said it was a 18 year old bourbon - well, why didn't you just use the same as on the menu or at least mention prior to ringing it up. Went here around there opening night... I see the potential for this place for sure its huge and spacious and wide open. It was super crowded so didnt get to play alot of the machines and the ones we did play some worked and others didnt. We didnt try the bowling as it look to be a long wait. Next time I go i'll have to try there "pong" outside for sure. Whats impressive is the skyline of Charlotte from the roof top. I hope to spend some summer nights there having a good time. They had food trucks outside which was great. The main drink they offer that comes with the cup is good but not worth the $20 bucks it cost (liquor wise) although you do get to keep the cup and you get $3 if you bring it the next time you come. I do think as a suggestion/recommendation they should limit the dogs after like 8pm as the atmosphere and vibe is usually different around that time. read more

This place is soooo cool. Free classic video games (that actually might be the attached place 16-Bit) and a great assortment of pinball games, AND skeeball, duck bowling and some other cool games I can't remember. Plus they have a giant lite brite board (no penis's or racism allowed - those are the only rules). My only issue is that the drinks are expensive and small. But that is how it is now isn't it? I suppose that is the trade off for the free games. However the couple I played we kinda sticky. A great time was had. Duck ball was pretty fun even if I sucked. This is a great place to take kids early on and I would love to chill with friends later in the evening on the patio or the roof top deck. Super chill vibes, wait staff was super friendly and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Love to see a staff that seems to really like their job. Well long story short the staff of this place managed to single handedly ruin my graduation weekend. I literally have NEVER been treated worse and I'm not talking about you know a verbal altercation. I'm talking they literally beat the crap out of my friend in the name of their job. Bouncer job descriptions don't include pushing people down the stairs and punching them when they are fallen as happened last night. Like A) You don't hit somebody when they're on the floor everybody knows that's just foul and B) You shouldn't push people down the stairs and C) the person that was pushed did nothing wrong.... he was in no way demonstrating physical aggression towards them. That's the worst of it all and the staff punched my brother so hard they knocked him to the ground. Mind you; these are like six foot tall guys so obviously who in their right mind gets physical with somebody that huge. Obviously because there was a person bleeding like bleeding bleeding I was pretty upset and when I went back to the place the customers there started throwing drinks at me and my friends the bouncers literally laughed. Pretty traumatic and unnecessary if you ask me. If they wanted us to leave they could've executed that without the need of physical violence and even now it just hurts my heart to think that this all happened because somebody was slouched over in a chair (not being drunk and disorderly, not causing any discomfort). I actually used to think this place was fun and it was one of my favorite spots in charlotte so I am beyond disappointed, mad and everything else. What a great place for a drink and play some games! They have life size beer pong, pin ball machines, bowling area, and just a ton of stuff! It was quite packed when I was there so just beware that it gets busy. My favorite spot is the roof top. Unfortunately, it was cold and drizzling when I went but it was still great to be on the roof since they had a fire pit going. Great place to come with friends when you want more than just drinks/food. when the outside area is open, they have fire pits, giant pong (small fee, usually a waitlist), and tons of seating. Inside there's a lot of games free of charge, like giant Jenga, skeeball, and most arcade games (just the pinball machines cost $). Two full bars with over 20 beers on tap. They also make really elaborate cocktails. I've never ordered one, but I've seen them garnished with sour ribbon candy, rock candy, etc. My only complaint is their parking is less than ideal. The lot is usually always full so you have to circle around looking for street parking, or do what we did and eat dinner at Suffolk Punch first then walk over to Pins. read more

Great place to visit if you're in town! It does get pretty busy as it gets closer to dinner time, so if you aren't into crowds I would recommend going around noon. For some of the games/activities you had to check in at the cage to reserve a spot they told us wait time would be 45 minutes, but actually was sooner. I would recommend reserving the spots even if a long wait as you can play other games for free while waiting. The rooftop area is pretty small and no games are up there but cute hang out spot. Recommendations: would love to see a few basketball hoop games, corn hole and darts! read more
