I'm not a regular in Dublin, but went there to meet a friend. I had one drink. I ordered another one and the waitress made a mess with my tab, she was charging me about $45 and I had JUST TWO DRINKS. She was giving me someone else's tab, not mine. A supervisor showed up and he told me that they were just charging me for my drink. But in the end they charged my drinks and the $45 from someone else's tab. Bottom line... place is not bad, but they made a mess when charging my tab and did not fixed that when they were supposed to do so (the supervisor told so). read more

Always a good night at Pins! Free parking is always a plus, even if you have to go a few levels up on the garage. Staff is always amazing and quick. They'll even come by and you can order another round at your table. The mixed drinks are a little too sweet for me but there's always at least one cider and the market place shandy was really really good. Pinball does cost money and so does bowling and usually bowling has a wait. The only time I've ever gotten to play is right when they opened. You can usually find a table for your group too! But the environment of Pins is top notch. Definitely a great place to take people for a fun day or night! read more

Well it started off to be a good review, unfortunately due to the unreasonable company policies for a public bar/game event family establishment it's getting a 1-star since I can't make it a 0. We came to Pins for our first time for a B-Day party for a co-worker. Since this was advertised as a family bar/entertainment restaurant we brought our 14 year old daughter. We arrived at 7:30 since the B-day girl was to arrive at 8. At 8:30 we were told by management we had to put our drinks down and leave since there were no people under 21 after 8pm, even though Ohio law states 10:00 pm. I was told by Pins "management" that Pins' policy is 8. I asked the "management" if you could really call it that seeing the manager couldn't even read his watch correctly (he thought it was 10:30 not 8:30, only 2-hours off...) if we could at least finish our drinks we just purchased at $28 for two drinks and the answer was No. We were then escorted out by three members of management. Wow, way to make a lasting impression on a 14 year old. Needless to say, this was our first and last visit to a Pins establishment. read more

The good: Absolutely 2 - 3 times larger than the downtown location, and unlike downtown, 16 bit is next door (which is 5 - 10 times larger!) Parking is plentiful and free, no street riff-raff to deal with, and you can walk to a ton of good restaurants, any time of night, as this is a high end oasis of condos and venues. Location is pretty amazing. The Ok: I noticed prices were a $1 more here and there, but I'm sure this new enormous space is expensive. Servers are a little bit less surly than downtown, and table side service is definitely enhanced from downtown. Every single time I have been to the downtown location there have been and endless stream of bartenders, but no one really can keep up with me and I wait on my drinks. This is ridiculous, because I don't wait at busier bars with less bartenders, but oh well. Still plenty of tattoos and colored hair for the guests. The bad: I don't know what the new trend is restrooms for architects to light up the toilets like they are stars on a stage, I think most prefer muted lighting while on the toilet, but in this case, combined with the shiny black walls, the left urinal position shows you a high definition full color movie of dudes dropping double deuces as if it was a mirror. They need to fill the gap between the left urinal and the toilet. How did no one see this omission? Its hard to avoid when you use the restroom. It is a mirror directly into someone's a-tight at the worst time. read more

If you think 16-bit is cool, you should also check out Pins. My husband and I went to 16-bit while in Dublin a few weeks ago. We ended up wanting to check out Pins while we were there. We wandered over to check it out and were slightly disappointed to find out everything there cost in addition to the drinks. At 16-bit next door, you pay for drinks and the games are free. However, we decided to make the best of it. I ended up having more fun at Pins than I did at 16-bit. To be fair, some of this probably had to do with the fact I'd had a few drinks by the time we went over there. I ended up getting a whiskey sour, and it was seriously the best one I've ever had. I have found that every bar makes a whiskey sour differently and sometimes they just aren't as good. I think it was the whiskey the bartender used, though I don't know what kind if was. It was really difficult to hear (even more difficult than at 16-bit!), so I didn't ask. I really should have because the whiskey sour was that good. My husband and I had already spent a bit on drinks, so we decided to do something that didn't cost. We found a giant Jenga and went to town. I don't know if it was the drinks I'd had or the size of the Jenga, but it was so much fun. I had an absolute blast playing. I would definitely go back and play some pinball too. I think the pinball is fairly inexpensive, but we were on a budget for our weekend trip. As with 16-bit, my reason for 4 stars is because the noise. It is a bar, but it can get really hard to hear people in this location, which is kind of disappointing if you're on date night. So it's a great atmosphere. They have fun games, cool vibe, and funky drinks. You can order food at whatever food truck is sitting outside, they're almost always good. However, it's hit or miss with the cocktails, sometimes they can taste delish, other times not so much. And they're pricey cocktails so I feel like they should taste great 100% of the time. Am I officially grumpy if I say that they need more comfortable seating? This is a huge, loud, open space which would be great for groups or parties. We love Pins, we know it is a happening place on holidays. The front desk check-in and lane staff were great. There are a lot of activities in addition to the bowling and it's loud enough that we didn't need to worry about the little kids being quiet. However, tonight it was very clear that there were not enough wait staff, or they are just really bad wait staff. The bar itself was virtually empty, yet it took forever to get drink orders taken and brought back, beers were warm each time. The trash can near us was overflowing for a couple of hours, I finally took our pizza boxes to the bar to be thrown away. We also lost money on several of the pinball games, not a huge issue, but the kids were disappointed and made several comments when the came back that it ate their money. While there are multiple activities, let's be honest, everyone wants to play duck pin bowling. You could double the amount of lanes now that 16-bit is next door and get rid of the broken pinball machines. We had 16 in our group and the first timers were left with a bad impression. I hope the bar service was a one time issue, or people will stop going. read more

This place brought back memories from my childhood with all the 80's games and pinball machines. Had two drinks, but the Boo Berry was the best. The service was amazing. My only complaint was the kids would not give up some of the arcade games. I watched one spend an hour at a game and wouldn't let anyone else play. read more

This place is awesome! We had dinner and drinks at the rooftop bar across the street at the Marriott then walked over for some fun and drinks. Great draft beer list, staff was so helpful and everyone was super nice. They had Ping Pong, bowling, pinball and when we went to sign up for the ping pong, no line on a saturday night and on St. patricks day! Who would have thought, and it was 10pm. Was somewhat disappointed in the whole experience. We arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night and there was already a three-hour wait to play duck bowling a two-hour wait to play bocce ball and a two-hour wait for the ping pong tables. My thought would be if you're going to have that long of a wait you should provide more of those types of entertainments and less of the pinball machines which really weren't being utilized. I would also strongly encourage that you provide some kind of a diet white pop like 7-Up or Sprite or Sprite Zero so those of us that like libations mixed with a white pop versus a dark pop would be better served. I will say if you are lucky enough to get one of the long-awaited entertainment's it looks like a blast and it looked like everybody was having a really good time at those areas. read more

Somehow I've lived in Columbus now for 8 years, live a pretty social and outgoing lifestyle, but just recently made it to a Pins Mechanical. We were out celebrating and surprising a friend for their birthday, so I was both excited for the occasion and to finally check this place out! My first impressions when I walked in were immediately the size of the place and how busy it was. Just when I thought the place was about to end, it got bigger. This isn't really anything bad, but I think from a quality control standpoint, it definitely was probably a big reason as to why tons of tables and seating areas were left trashed with empty glasses and people's food. We were there for 3.5 hours and the area by us was never bussed/cleaned up once. The other thing that was annoying was the allowance of kids - until a later time when they had to leave. There were probably 40-50 kids throughout. It's a bar first and foremost - not an arcade. I understand wanting to have a fun family atmosphere for parents to feel like they're 'out', while still being with their kids, but kids were running rampant all over the place and really ruining the experience of wanting to kick back and drink with friends. Leave this to the Dave and Busters of the world. You wouldn't think twice about this being something to worry about when going out to a bar, but apparently it's something to note if you aren't there in the late late hours. If you're there, on a weekend at least, reserve your time on the games - bocce, bowling etc. We got there at 6:30 and there were already 2-3 hour waits on these things. Totally understandable, but again, if it's your first time and you have no idea, it can be a bummer. The last thing to note was the bar service. The place is huge, but so are the bars. The bars seemed properly staffed, but the time turn out of drinks and the bartenders selectivity of who they were serving was a real turn off. When my friend and I got there, I held down the spot for our group while he went to get us beers. We stood at the bar (and I mean at the counter of the bar) for 20 minutes before someone served him. I went up to get the next round and couldn't believe it took him that long when I walked up and went straight to the bar counter. Yet again, bartenders un-apologetically and obviously served younger women time and time again before men, as well as their friends who would walk up 10 minutes after we'd been waiting and get served immediately. Hospitality shouldn't change based on the person. Don't be that place that doesn't treat their customers all equal and provide great service to everyone regardless of gender, age, etc. Overall, I'd go back. I'm sure this review sounds a lot worse than it was and it's simply because it was my first time there. Hopefully this serves as a 'heads-up' to someone else going for the first time and they can be more cognizant of what I mentioned. It was a fun environment once the kids cleared out and I can totally get why people are so enamored with this place! read more

Pins, beer, and party games is a great unique concept because they can cater to a wide audience. This was a brand new experience for me because I had never played pins before, and I have to admit that it's a ton of fun. For starters, you have more control of the ball because it fits in your hand. While this is a nice mechanic it actually makes it difficult to obtain a strike. My only complaints are there isn't enough seating for lanes and because of the small scale of pins lanes and bodies are closer together. Would have preferred a more spread out approach or additional seating. But I will be back for the pins. read more

Pins is great for groups! Lots of places to congregate whether your doing duckpin bowling, sitting out back by a fire, or hanging out at tables watching people play giant jenga. There's also football, ping pong and patio pong in addition to the pinball. I like to wait until after 8pm and kids are gone. But sometimes I will go in for the 4-7 happy hour. I was having a pretty lousy night when I walked into pins. I sat down at the bar a little down trodden prepared to drink myself into a state of oblivion that would take away, at least for a little while, all the failures of the day. I looked up and made eye contact with the bartender Steve and time hung suspended in air. He didn't make any obvious out of the ordinary movements, but somehow his intense stare and the casual manner he walked towards me was still more intricate than a victorian's rifebird's mating dance. BEWARE!!: after a great night of duckpin I went to pay my bill and noticed it was more than expected. After viewing the bill I saw I was charged for an extra glass of wine. It was brought up to the bar manager Anna who in short told me she trusted her bartenders more than my word and that "maybe I didn't remember how many glasses I had." I'm not sure if this is some kind of scam but I remember perfectly. Also when I asked for my card back after starting a tab she told me cards weren't kept behind the register, and maybe I had misplaced my card in my pocket. I told her again I didn't have my card, and she found it in the register. Very poor management, I will not be back!! Be sure to watch out for your bill and cards!! read more

a group and I had been regulars since about 6 months after they opened but it's just keeps going downhill. We would stop in like once a month for drinks after work, and the first couple times we're great. Then it was weird, every time we would come in it would be 90% brand new staff and the service just went downhill. Last few times we have stopped in it was terrible. The waitresses clearly didn't care, the super tall brunette bartender acted like it was a huge ordeal to make out drinks "3 beers 2 shots and cocktail". Then another short chubby waitress kept coming over and strongly coming onto one of the guys in out group even though he made it clear he was not interested. We left and went to another bar, and the same waitress showed up and bothered us there also. it's a shame becuase we use to really like going there, but it's just not worth it anymore. 13 dollar beers to get annoyed by one server and then not served by any others. read more

Had a great time here with friends on a Sunday afternoon. They had their kids -13 and 8 with them and it was very enjoyable for everyone. We didn't mind the wait (45 minutes) for bowling because there were other options such as pinball, ping pong and a very while we were waiting. We had a really fun time bowling. They might slightly underestimate their bartender need on a Sunday. First round was really fast, second round wasn't. Don't be surprised - everything costs to play except extra large Jenga. Prices are decent though (pinball would be nice at 25 cents though) and as long as you except that everything has a cost it's not so bad. The only thing I'd say is that it took us a bit of time to figure how to get the ping pong paddles - the greeter directed us for bowling but no one even mentioned anything else. I usually come to pins all the time. My fiancé and I always for the most part have a great time. When we arrived there was an hour wait which was fine to play duck pin bowling. So we waited out by the fire pits and fiancé smoked a cigar. When we got the text we went back up to the cage thinking we were going to do two games. So I paid and we played our first game. And then it ended and didn't continue so it completely confused me. So I went to the cage and asked. I was literally the only one standing and the blonde long haired girl who was standing there didn't even acknowledge me. The red long haired girl finally did and I asked nicely about it and they were completely b*tches about it. They were rude gave me an attitude about it. Like if they explained this to me when I went up originally when I got the text it would have been no problem and I would have been cool. But no they gave me an attitude and were quite rude. Like chill it's the day after Christmas and I was in a great mood. I didn't appreciate that rudeness. Overall the place is fantastic like usual. Played duck pin bowling, walked around, went to 16 bit played video games and left. But that really left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't appreciate it at all. When I first walked in I was totally turned off by the amount of screaming kids, granted it was 4pm on a Saturday. I thought to myself, there's nothing a couple drinks can't fix so I went straight to the bar and got myself a cocktail. My husband and I were told the wait to get a bowling alley was about an hour so we decided to just play some arcade which was fun but there was like 5 of the popular ones that were out of service. At this point I was very underwhelmed so I decided to go close out my tab when I saw the SNES area- man I totally lost it. All the tv's were taken but this nice mom let me have her seat so we stayed for a couple more hours. I made it to World 3 of Super Mario when I realized I was hogging the tv so I decided to close out my tab. I was somehow charged for a beer I did not have but the bartender got his manager right away to void the transaction and they were super nice about it.
