My family and I really enjoyed our dinner here. The space is cute and very colorful. It's in Pinecrest in a very happening plaza. They even have a door that opens up like a garage giving you access to indoor seating with outside appeal. We came in on a Tuesday which they have a 2 for 1 special on select pizzas and pastas. We went over the menu and the pizza selection is the largest I've ever seen. The ingredients range from your regular toppings like different veggies and meat toppings to unique fresh burrata, arugula, artichoke, spicy salami,porcini shrooms, prosciutto, eggplant, gorgonzola, brie, sundried tomatoes and so much more. They also have traditional pasta ,gnocchi, and lasagna options. We asked how many slices the pizza had and we were told 4. We should've asked the size because the pizza was easily 8 slices or more depending on how you cut it. Each table has grated cheese in a small wooden container just in case you want to add to your dish, be it pasta, salad, or even your pizza. We tried 2 different pizza( the Italia & the Pavia ), the Machu Picchu salad, the avocado dip (this is a must, the basil really brings out a delish flavor), spaghetti with salmon, and the beef carpaccio. That's just way to much food. Doggy bags definitely needed. Our pizzas were cooked perfectly and had a thin and crunchy crust. I usually dont eat the crust but every bite was that good. I had to take some of the cheese off the Italia pizza because it was a bit to much for my liking. Once you take off the excess it's all good. My beef carpaccio needed a little more spice so black pepper was added. The salad was colorful and tasty too with a nice vinaigrette. The pasta was one of my favorites and could've eaten it plain with just the sauce alone. Coming here was a real treat and their Tuesday special made it even better! read more

This spot is great when you want restaurant quality food in a fast food kind of place. They have great service, Natalia our server was amazing. Prices are very reasonable our bill $34 for a cheese pizza with prosciutto and meatball for an appetizer. It was very tasty, their red salude if very good. The good thing is that it has a wine and beer list. Next time we come we will try the dessert. Really good pizza crust. Nice and quick service even on a weekend night. Kids love the place with an easy going vibe. It also serves pastas and has a full bar which was a surprise. Small little restaurant but great vibe. All the servers are nice and attentive. The food is fresh and really great portions. We normally leave with taking some food home. I would definitely recommend. We've only gone at times it's not too busy but leaving when it starts to get busy. New item on the menu : Is the Calamari appetizer, it is crunchy, fresh, sooo good , a must have on your next visit. (Ask for double the sauce, you're going to need it). Always one of my faves is the "Pasta Bolognese"!!!! They serve it with Pappardelle pasta but I like regular spaghetti, ty. Piola is such a causal spot with a variety of pastas and pizzas. The service was amazing and quick. The waiter informed us that on Thursday's it's ladies night and unlimited free wine with an entree. I was almost steered away by the previous reviews but decided to give them a try. Boy i was not disappointed and so glad i stayed. Came here for lunch with a co-worker. What a great place this is. You walk in and everyone greets you...in Italian and you are suddenly transported to Italy. After looking over the menu I decided to have the Regina Margherita. It is made with fresh mozzarella. The pizzas are 12" and thin crust and the best pizza I have had in a very long time! I could not help but eat the entire thing. The ingredients are quality ingredients. Even the parmesan that they bring to the table was really good. I hadn't eaten at Piola since their Lincoln Road spot closed a while back, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this spot after doing Full Moon photography around Old Cutler Road. As is their trademark, decor is light and modern, with international sports on TV (I believe last night was Tour de France). Since I was solo, I took a seat at the bar and like how they have clearly separated red and white pizzas. They also seem to have a varied pasta menu. Of course, I started with their bruschetta and ordered a Hawaiian pizza! Piola seems to go for freshness. The baguette pieces were crispy and loaded with plenty of fresh cut, tangy tomatoes and each decorated with a basil piece. My thin-crust pizza - gigantic for a personal one - had a nice marinara based and was topped with plenty of just-salty prosciutto and pineapple pieces. I want to preface this by saying the girls who work there are super sweet and attentive. HOWEVER, the food was awful. Not quality, not fresh, not tasty, no flavor and definitely not authentic. The meatballs were tiny like the mini ones from the frozen section at Publix with ragu sauce and bread that's what the meatball appetizer tasted like. The gnocchi was the worst part though. The garlic knots are not knots, but bread soaked in garlic oil. The caprese tomatoes hadn't been washed, the mozzarella had no taste, and there was one sprig of basil. The meatballs taste like chef boyardee. The pizza had 3 basil leaves on a regular cheese pizza. Hardly a margherita. The spaghetti had the same bland marinara. I have dined at this location more than a couple of times. Those past experiences were positive regarding the food a service. This time I ordered a Margherita pizza for pick up. It was a cheese pizza, spoke with the manager?, proceeded to argue somewhat about the pizza and the way they make it. Well it was a cheese pizza. Finally he agreed to fix the situation. Went to pick up the other Margherita pizza and it was cheese one with some basil on top. Extremely disappointed at the food and service. UPDATE: 7/4/2019 went in tonight with my family. The food was delicious as always. The service was very disappointing. Rolando was our server. We know Ladies Night is every Thursday. He never mentioned it. I ordered a glass of wine. He brought it and again never mentioned anything. When I ordered my 3rd glass, he came to tell me that he ran out of the original bottle he served BUT he had a cheaper bottle.... again, I said "ok". Then he brought the bill. The bill included the 2 first glasses which were more expensive than the 3rd glass. When I questioned him about it being Ladies Night, he said "oh yeah but I gave you better wine." He was annoyed that I questioned him on the charge. He also included an automatic tip! We were 5! Needless to say, we are annoyed and shocked with the poor service from Rolando! We have had our son's birthday party here, we have recommended Piola to many friends, we frequent this location often and I can genuinely say... we are highly disappointed. The pizza is delicious! I had the Italia pizza which was arugula, ricotta and tomatoes. I tried the fusilli bianco verde which was pasta with chicken and broccoli. The dish tasted very good as well. The dessert was also very good. It was a cookie crust with brownie and ice cream called Torta nera e gelato. The only thing I didn't like very much was the kiwi and strawberry caipiroska. Well we were pleasantly surprised- after an extremely long day doing some volunteer work to help the victims of Harvey we truly just wanted a great meal and some drinks to end the night. The place was clean, had a few other people eating dinner and immediately our server told us about the menu and rushed to get us drinks. My daughter ordered a Margherita pizza and when a cheese pizza arrived instead, we naturally pointed it out to our waiter, who rolled his eyes in anger and proceeded to argue that she should have ordered a Capris pizza instead. What? First of all, wrong answer! and definitely wrong attitude, and I'm now thinking, what's next? We order a Tiramisu but receive chocolate cake and are told we should have ordered the cannoli? Come on! It's not that difficult. Everyone knows what a Margherita pizza is and what a cheese pizza is. It's not that difficult. I ordered ravioli. It was awful. The waiter saw it sit throughout the meal, and took the plate full of food at the end of the meal and didn't bother to ask why all the food was still on the plate, didn't offer an alternate dish, no credit, zero customer service. If you dont mind insects on your food and flitting around you food... then bon appetite! By all means, enjoy Piola... just not at this location. They have had this issue since 2017 and it appears they have done nothing to address the issue... sharing my meal with insects is disgusting. But the service in this location has gotten really bad, to the point they started adding 18% tip mandatory to your check. The waiter forgot everything, was RUDE, asked for Manager from Hostess who you can't decipher if they are working there or just there for Friday night hangout from the High School. Likely manager knew we asked for (them) because upon asking (again) where were the garlic knots, the server snapped "the Manager is looking for them". Huh...the manager must have found them, they came out. Just not sure where he found them from, but certainly not from a gourmet Italian restaurant. Anyway, the manager NEVER showed up. WOW!!!! I guess this is why (I forgot) we hadn't been there in about a year or so. Suniland is expensive real estate, so I can't imagine how they have this much staying power. My mother and I ordered some Pinot Grigio and my brother ordered a Stella. After that we put in our main course orders. My brother and I both ordered a Carne & Compagnia Pizza, he had one with bacon added I had one with prosciutto added. We both ordered a pizza because our waiter said they were small personal pizzas. This is where all the trouble began. 1) My brothers pizza came 15 minutes before everyone else's food. Food for a table should come at he same time. That's when I noticed it's not a small personal pizza but one two people can easily share. I accepted that I had already made the order but I was already a little ticked off. 2) I asked the waiter for some red pepper flakes for my brother as he loves that with his pizza, he brought us a tray with that, oregano, olive oil. He said that it's everything they have. Not true, another table had Parmesan cheese something my mother likes with her pasta dishes. We didn't find out they had that until my mother had been well into her meal. 3) when my mother and I both began to eat we were both surprised by how bland the food tasted. My brother remarked the same about his pizza. I like PIOLA, but this location sucks. Do not go to this restaurant when hungry. I repeat, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT WHEN HUNGRY. They take forever, appear understaffed and screw up orders. This time I used the PIOLA APP, which is what I was advised to do when you call the location. Waited for my order to be ready in "15 minutes." Never indicated it was ready on the app so I showed up to the restaurant, gave my name (multiple times) and waited 40 minutes before the waitress asked me to confirm my order details. Turns out the PIOLA APP is not working and so I was told I should have used Yelp or another platform. LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO KNOW beforehand. Advice to the owners (and to fellow foodies): have the take-out personnel confirm the order details and not just rely on a name attached to the order. Why? Well in my case (and two other people waiting) for example, they gave their names and waited... and waited. Now, what if that name doesn't even have an order? That means all this time is wasted. Now if you get a name and order details, you can confirm that the order is in process. But what the hell do I know anyway? When has it been possible to say no to pizza? I've always loved this chain for their consistently fresh ingredients and casual approach to building and customizing your own pizzas. The smell of dough always hypnotizes me as I scramble to find the best ingredients suitable to my cravings. I love pepperoni and onions but I sometimes opt for sausage and veggie options to alternate. It's perfect for groups who can't decide on a single style or topping because everyone gets different pies and ends up trying a little of everything. There's even a ladies night offering drink specials which definitely is an enticement. I've also tried a few bites of the spaghetti and I really enjoyed the sauce they use. Drinks..and pizza?
