Ordered and paid and given a delivery time of between 12 and 4 with a call 30 minutes prior. At 3:30 I called and was told the driver was enroute to get loaded. I was then called by them and told that the driver was over hours and would load then be at my place by 6 to 6: 30 in the morning. It never happened. I agreed and said that we would need to leave for town before 9 and could we be done by then. I was told yes. The next morning, I called a little after 7 and was told that the driver was 10 minutes out from getting loaded and would then head our way. I cancelled. They seem to not care about others schedules. No apologies from them. They didn't know why he ran so far behind the day before. In the past , my experience with employees that ran behind were either doing side work on my time or playing stink finger. Do not trust these folk. read more

We stopped here to look at their rock and some sand for pavers. Their product is nice, the employees were nice, but after ordering and paying for sand to be delivered first, which we would have ordered some decorative rock later, their lack of good customer service showed up. Mind you, our first order wasn't a "big" one,, which might have made us unimportant to them, but we were planning on spending more money with them later. So after paying, they gave us a delivery date and time with the assurance a call would be made as the driver was headed our way. We waited around for the time they gave us, but when nobody showed up and no call, we called them. They said the driver was running out of time to drive, so he would load that night and be on his way to us in the morning before 6am. Well unfortunately 6:45 am and no call, no delivery. We called again and they told us they were going to load it and it would be here by 10 am. We decided at that point we could find someone who had better customer service, and somewhere we got truth!! Also, when calling to assure we would get a full refund there wasn't even a "sorry for the problem and miscommunication." I guess they do not value all customers!! I would advise looking elsewhere for your product unless you have a truck to haul it in yourself! A very disappointed customer!! read more

50% dirt ("fines") got stuck in the 1" screen ??? We believe that the rocks were not screened at all. Why should they screen them if their terms and conditions state that you agree to receive up to 50% dirt when ordering rocks ? read more

I used this location twice. The first time ordered 6 tons had it delivered driver called in advance let me know he was on his way with an eta. Dropped it where I wanted it. Only issue I had was the price of the delivery $150 plus $20 fuel surcharge. The second time I went with my pickup and got a ton on my own. Super simple get on there scale wait for the green light so you know they captured your weight. Drive to the rock bay you are looking for guy with a bulldozer asks how much and pours it in then go weigh again and go pay. It's cheap so long as you don't need it delivered read more

We ordered 3/4- 1 1/4" stones, when the truck arrived half of them are between 2-4", if not bigger. They told us the driver would pour the rock out alone the stretch that we wanted it laid, he poured it into three piles on the front yard. Also, they charged $155 dump the rocks, and $25 to deliver(fuel surcharge) the rock 2 miles away. I wouldn't recommend using them. read more

Store is open until 4 pm. Wife and I arrive at 3:53 with credit card in hand ready to purchase several tons of stone, a couple boulders, and a few hundred sq ft of artificial turf only to find the front door locked when I try to enter. I look in and see at least three and maybe four guys standing around near the back door which is clearly visible from where I'm standing. Two look up to see me standing at the door looking in. One turns away while the other one looks up, grins, and walks out of view. Taken back by it all, I stood there for a second trying to process what just happened. Then one of the guys opens the back door and one by one they exit, walk to their cars, get in, and leave the lot, driving by both of us as we just stood there. I looked at my watch again to see it was exactly 4:00. I understand we got there just before they closed and I could've accepted a "sorry, come back tomorrow" or something. But the way it played out was crap and total BS customer service. The decision to take my business elsewhere was an easy one. read more

My husband and I went to Pioneer on 8/6 to order 20 tons of gravel. We were ready to order, pay and schedule but the associate there said he could take our information and give us a call back in the beginning of the week. When the associate called to tell us what our scheduled drop off would be. They refused to be the least bit flexible with the window of time so I had to move my work schedule around and call back. When I called back a day later they had CANCELLED my order. Instead of being able to deliver a few days later they now told me it would be another week out. The team was rude and couldn't of cared less. We went in ready to pay last week on the 6th. Now our entire project is going to be behind and they have NO customer service to reach out. I'm trying to find another company or even location that could complete our order just so I don't have to work with Ben or Malik. So disappointed and still need gravel. read more

So far pioneer has been the worst company I have ever Dealt with. First of all the employees are very inappropriate and have no common sense and put me and danger and my workers. As a contractor you have to deal with many things that through you off schedule on projects but rock is not something that should be that hard. Yet 3 times on orders of 30 tons they have been 2 days late or call and tell me they don't have that at this location. This has brought a huge headache to my head. Second of all, about 11 months ago they locked 2 trucks and trailers full of materials in there yard. Let me tell you more. Me and 2 other guys along with trucks and trailers showed up about 30 min to closing to pick up a order which needed to be delivered to the site by 10 pm that night and was a 3 hour drive to job site. After loading dirt fill crappy rock 2 workers along with my employees which I pay hourly had to unload by hand. After that they loaded the right material and better stuff and then we began strapping our load down. Little did we know they would go park the tractor and leave us in there. We finished up strapping down the load and headed to the front. Gate locked no one to be found except us. Really they don't do a sweep to make sure all customers are out. After calling non emergency number 3 hours later police show up they are unsure what to do. They thought to cut the lock but didn't want to leave the gate open all night. I WAS ANGRY AND DID NOT CARE IF SOMEONE STOLE THERE CRAP. Well then they called AJ police department then gold canyon and Mesa to see whose jurisdiction that location was. After another 2 hours which it was now 9 a clock material was supposed to be at site at 10. They then called the security systems that were posted on the pioneer site and non of them where in service. So then they called the owner managers and any number they could find no answer. 1030pm fire department show up and put up ladders for us to get over the fence. We had to leave our trucks and trailers with materials already paid for in a dark rock yard. Angry and pissed I had just paid my guys for Unnecessary work. We headed home after being picked up by families then had to be dropped off by them at 7 to pick up our trucks and head to the job which we arrived 13 hours late too and customer was not happy at all and ended up terminating our contract and threatening lawsuit because work was supposed to be done during the night on off hours. So is pioneer a good company no they have the worst service and don't accommodate you when you loose money over a stupid mistake they make. Try rock Depot and MDI rock both places are great. I was stood up twice. I understand that people make mistakes but two times. I wasn't going for a third and went somewhere else!

I went there looking for soil for a garden and the guys were very helpful picking out what I needed and helping me through the process since I'm not a contractor. The guy who loaded my truck answered all my questions and even went out of the way to bring a bucket full of another product without me asking from across the yard for me to look at for a future project. The soil I got was perfect, the price was very reasonable and the process was made simple because of the excellent customer service skills of the desk guy and the loader. Will definitely be back and will recommend this place. I will never go to the big box stores for landscaping supplies again. I wish I had gotten the guys names so I could mention them.
