Look no further because Nadav is incredible. He responded immediately, showed up when he said he would and his price was more than fair. Our problem turned out to be more complicated, and took way more time than either of us expected it would. We have an older house with a door that has shifted, making alignment challenging. Nadav took all the time needed to make little adjustments, and then took more time to patiently make sure we knew how to move forward and use the key and existing lock correctly, so we could avoid needing to do a much more expensive replacement solution. Amazingly good service. We called another Locksmith first in San Rafael and he was booked out days and said "Everyone these day is in a hurry" and offered me a slot 4 days from today. My dogs didn't eat or went to the bathroom all day, they were scratching the door from the inside- it was so frustrating.. "Re-keying 1-2-3"!!! Sure there is luck, but it does feel good. At 3:15 today, I called Dave about re-keying our kitchen door. Our non-emergency job was scheduled for the next day less than 24hrs after my initial outreach. He was communicative that first day with a few random questions I had and he continued to be available both by phone and text when I had to adjust our timing slightly. I called Pioneer because we have an expensive Baldwin front door lock that was not working and he came highly recommended on NextDoor. I left a message and Nadav, the owner, called me back and asked what my problem was. He asked me to text him a photo of the front, side and back of the lock. He called me back the next day and said that it is a very good lock and that it should not be having problems (even though it is 15+ years old). Rather than coming out, he suggested that I try some WD40, because he thought that would work. And, guess what- it did. He could have easily come out, charged me for a service call and maybe even parts, but he genuinely said that he hoped that WD40 would solve my problem. What a nice guy, honest, and very knowledgeable. I will call him immediately if we have any lock issues in the future. read more

We actually got locked out of a room in our house recently when the doorknob disengaged from its internal mechanism. Of course, this happened late in the day on a Friday, when we were getting ready to leave town the following day for vacation, and desperately needed to get into that room -- my daughter's -- in order to pack her things. i called several locksmiths and was so discouraged by the time I got Dave at Pioneer on the phone, but we made an appointment to meet at the house and once there he assured me that he would be able to fix the problem -- removing old/replacing with new doorknob -- and he did, perfectly. He even insisted that HE clean up the minor bits of dust that were created from the drilling he had to do and he was meticulous about that, as well. Dave was truly a breath of fresh air -- he was kind, courteous, he went far out of his way to make sure we got taken care of, his invoice was jaw-dropping reasonable (compared to the estimates I'd been given on the phone earlier that day) and his work was perfect. read more

Just like all the other reviewers, I'm super happy with Nadav & his locksmith service! We recently moved into a new mid-century style house and the main entry door is a slider (a fleetwood keyed lock sliding door, which lock differently than regular sliders apparently). Unfortunately we didn't receive a key for this door when we bought the house & so we've been using a side door in order to lock the house from the outside when we come and go. Well we're now doing repairs to the side of the house where we'd been going in and out and needed the front door to be lockable asap, as that door won't be accessible for a week or two. The locksmith I'd used in the past didn't want to mess with a fleetwood door/lock for some reason. I decided to look online & read the great reviews for Pioneer locksmith and gave them a call. The phone went directly to Nadav who answered promptly and was very friendly on the phone. He had me text a picture of the door & lock to see if he would be able to do it and he responded yes, no problem. He was able to come by just a few hours later, in between two other appointments he had in my area. It only took him about 15 minutes to take care of the whole thing and give me 2 new keys. He also advised me that the somewhat expensive extra locks I'd bought to prevent thieves/people popping the door out (it's a "thing" with sliding doors...) were fine, but the old stick in the track was just as good and way cheaper. The key is to have only minimal gap between the size of the stick/dowel rod and slider - good to know. Fast, easy & friendly service - yay! Happy me :o) read more
