Be wary. Huge misdiagnoses from Venugopal, and prescribing potent medication to a 1-year old. I recommend retiring Dr. Venugopal. My daughter had rashes through out her body, and without even looking in her mouth (key), he diagnosed her with chicken pox. Not only that, but he prescribed a high percentage of hydrocortisone ointment to use on her face. Thankfully we refused to give her the ointment after suspicion, and took her to the ER. It turns out, with a simple look in her mouth, it ended up being HFM (hands foot mouth) disorder. And the physician there told us not to use the dangerous dose of medication Dr Venugopal prescribed. I wouldn't recommend him. Sadly, the only two decent pediatric physicians in this network are him and Dr. Kato, and both have there concerning flaws. I'd rather pick Dr. Kato, who only prescribes antibiotics used in the 80s, than mr dangerous misdiagnoses. On a side note, Dr Venugopal's nurse is nice. read more

3rd location's a charm... One of my favorite and no hassle places is Minute Clinic, and I go there whenever I need to. Unfortunately, they closed at 5:30pm, and did not take me in for the reason of my visit today even though they stop seeing patients 15 mins before and I had arrived 30 mins prior to close. Oh well. I then went to my normal Pioneer Group urgent care location in Long Beach, and they had a sign on the door stating they were CLOSED... I experienced some issues with the security officer there also... Finally, I came to the Pioneer Group Downey location... they were open!! Thank goodness. You don't know how overjoyed I was. I signed in, everything was a breeze. They called my name after about 2 mins and I was SEEN by the doctor immediately. She gave me a prescription and I am on my way to wellness. After 3 hours of driving around to see the doctor, I'm so tired but relieved of my frustration. Thank you for the rapid turnaround. I didn't expect to be seen so quickly! This review is solely for Suzie the ultrasound technician for Dr. Jung Park's office. I have had the pleasure of having her scan me twice during my first and second pregnancy. She is gentle, friendly, kind and efficient. Her room is small but she keeps it nice and tidy. She has pretty, colorful paper flowers dangling from the ceiling as you get scanned which creates a nice and calming environment. She is soft spoken as well and never says anything that makes me tense up or worried. I have been scanned by many technicians and she is the only one that glides over my belly with the wand like a gentle feather. She never bothers the fetus and creates an uncomfortable sensation during my visit. She truly has the skill and experience which I always appreciate in a professional. Because of her, I now know that anyone who is ramming that ultrasound wand on my belly trying to "better the image" or say it is necessary to press hard is totally BSing (excuse my language). Scanning can and should be done with grace and a light hand. Thank you Suzie for the wonderful experience and friendship. You are truly a Gem :) read more

I really liked the flexibility they offered for appointments, nurses and front desks were always very professional. Doctors not so much, in the recent years I probably liked 2 out of the 6 doctors I have seen. I don't know what happened in the last year or so with General Practice Doctors at the Downey location. They started vanishing by the minute. I felt like I saw a new doctor every 2 months. Which is really, really disappointing as a patient. Just when you start to feel comfortable there is a new doctor. For most parts... When you visit the doctor's office it could be a tramatizing experience, but when I come to Pioneer Medical Group Im never tramatized, the staff is very friendly. I enjoy that the building is still very new. It's super clean!! The appearance is great! But!!! Something that needs help is the wait. My doctor was Dr. Sandler and every time I had a visit I was always made to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment. In speaking with the nurses the excuses were always the same... The doctor only works part-time. If I want a change I need to change doctor. I dont like that... But... in all... I dont mind that much. I enjoy my doctor and the location. read more

Had my VA hearing valuation done with Kevan S. He was very nice and attentive. The building was nice and clean. Only there for about 45 mins, So I don't know about anything else. But if you need a hearing test, Kevan is your guy. If I didn't drive over a hour to get there, and was worried about the traffic getting home, he had some great suggestions for lunch. Hands Down I give Dr. V the highest rating. One of the best pediatricians in the world!!! My visits here are on point as far as an appoinment goes no long waiting the staff is great. My kids love Dr. V he is great with my kids and over all just a wonderful person. I tell all my friends to bring their kids here. Dr Park has been my OB for the past few years. I'm currently expecting my first baby and I look forward to seeing him every month. I love how he's really honest and doesn't sugar coat anything. He even throws in a little word of advice here and there and I love hearing it! His little lectures sure do get to me and my husband. Sadly I won't be coming in anymore due to an insurance change but I'm sure I'll be back. Dr Park is amazing!!! dr dionisio dabu is horrible..everytime i saw him which was about 5 times he never documented why i was there. so everytime i came back to see him he asked why i was there..i injured my spine in december of 2018 and when i told him that my back was still hurting he said i never mentioned it to him. then he proceeds to tell me that he cant refer to a specialist because my insurance doesnt cover it. I should have known by the physiognomy of his characteristics that (I was done for before it even it started)..so that was a lie cause i called my provider and told them he denied me health care..they were baffled an upd said what he did was illegal and that I had a good case since I recorded it...so I recorded the visit and have the audio saved..they said my insurance covers orthopedic surgeons and general surgeons which he denied me for both..he also said literally to me that he had given up on me and that i need to enjoy life...how am I suppose to enjoy life when I can't walk or sit...when I can't function? i wanted to choke him when he said that but i restrained myself..dr dabu is a 4 foot foreigner and can barely speak english..i dont know how he became a doctor but it definitely wasnt in this country...he shouldnt even be allowed to practice medicine here in the USA..hes also racist and if you speak better english than him watch out..he is a fraud and you can see by the reviews what this clinic consists of...i dont know about the other doctors but dr. dioniso dabu is by far the worst doctor ive ever had to see...i filed a grievance with the medical board but they dont care...i basically just got a letter stating that i can file another...but what's the point...please if you have to see this particular doctor i feel bad for you...unless youre his race he might help you...for sure he hates hispanics, cause he clearly showed me that after seeing him for a few months...once again do your research before you get screwed and end up with this guy as your primary care physician...watch out...record him if you have to just to have solid proof and evidence on how he treats his patients..also look at the dr reviews to make sure you have a chance a decent treatment...ok so I just found out his joke profile and I was right he didnt even graduate from medical school here in the usa... hes also never been an athlete and was a bed ridden asthmatic child growing up in the slums...no wonder.. read more

Went in for a physical today for an appointment I had scheduled a month prior. Disappointed that doctors offices don't call for confirmation/reminder appointment 24 hours prior anymore. Anyway I was a little late with Friday afternoon traffic and called at 245p and said I would be late. The nurse who answered was rude and unpleasant. Upon arrival at 315p for a 3p appt she said "doctor will not see, you you're late." Another nurse, nice and understanding of traffic and busy work schedules, asked the doctor if he would see me, and thank goodness he did. Doctor was good experience. For the most part the staff is rude and unfriendly and unaccomodating anytime I go to this facility. I would consider finding another facility with more considerate staff. read more

Incompetence at it's finest. As a medical professional and the occasional patient I understand you will not always get what you want from a Dr's office. However, when I clearly presented with a throat and ear infection yesterday I was disgusted with the sub par treatment I received by the NP on staff. She spent all of 2 minutes on my assessment, paid no attention to my fever, swollen lymphnodes, or other symptoms. When the strep test came back negative she sent me home with instructions to gargle with warm water and salt. It doesn't take a genius to know a situation like that calls for antibiotics. Jenny is in the wrong career. She's a bully and has no bedside manner. She tries to diagnose patients with psychiatric conditions that she knows nothing of. To be clear, she doesn't have the authority to do that. She is a physician's assistant. She is not a doctor. And she is not an RN. Someone needs to give her a lesson in manners and basic people skills. She's abrasive to say the very least. At her previous place of employment at a family Care clinic in Brea, she offended so many patients that the office staff had to create a list of all the patients who had refused to be seen by her, or even to be in the same examining room with her. I was told by the office manager at the Brea office that the list was several pages long. And her choice in her makeup style left patients afraid. I cant remember the after hours indian drs name but he prescribed me 2 medications taking together would cause serious heart palpations .. the only reason i didnt get the 2nd 1 was because they had to double check his handwriting so when they got ahold of him he said theres no need for the 2nd medication because that can happen. Dr. Park was my OB and I must say I was very disappointed with the service. Since I work at an OB office I know what the routine is and how things should be done, since I was pregnant with twins I was supposed to followed up closer and more frequently but they didn't, the whole time I was their patient I was only scheduled for two ultrasound one of which I didn't make it to because I delivered a week before, but had I had my ultrasounds more frequent the issues I was having with my pregnant would have noticed, I was retaining too much fluid (so I had a huge stomach) Dr. Park said it was normal for me to be that huge and that I was measuring what I was supposed to that the only thing I could do was take Tylenol for the pin and use a pregnancy support belt (but that didn't help at all) I know everyone has a different experience but mine was just HORRIBLE read more

Completely unacceptable!! Never would I ever imagine a place should have negative stars! Avoid this place at all costs, even if you have to go someplace further because of insurance. They overbook appointments so you have to wait in a crowded waiting room, they don't inform you when the MD had to step out to do a delivery except for an hour later, then give you bad attitude for not wanting to stay and wait even though there's no eta (I mean c'mon, a delivery is not going to take 30 minutes, we all have to go back to work). It's just common courtesy to let your patients know. Note to husbands: might as well drop your wife off, they're hostile to males and give you a hard time when you want to see your baby in the ultrasound. And if you're lucky to join, you can't even record anything. It's like they have motion picture rights. They put us in a room right next to their computers in the back and for some damn reason staff kept on coming in without knocking to take paper towels from the sink area WHILE THE DOCTOR WAS TALKING TO MY WIFE. I mean hello....There's an appointment going on here. COMPLETELY NON PROFESSIONAL with no privacy whatsoever. The interns have no clue where the vagina is and will try to feel your cervix through the urethra. I suggest only asking for the doctor when it comes to poking around down there. We are trying to do a natural birth with the least amount of meds and c section only if medically unstable but the entire staff won't hear any of it and are obviously pro meds and pro c sections because it's faster and more convenient for them. Most of the information the doctor tells you, you already know. It would be helpful to go into detail and explain what you see on your monitor other than "everything looks good". Something I find funny (but not really) is whenever we call to speak to the doctor, they immediately say he's with a patient or delivering a baby, but when we're being seen by the doctor, staff routinely walk in and interrupt saying "doctor, you have a call". They should be renamed Shady Medical Group. My wife and I are very apprehensive about delivering here, especially if the labor team have the same competence as the clinic. I wished we had follow our first, second, third, fourth, fifth, instinct of bad experiences and went someplace else. There's just no good vibes. I switched offices because I found Dr. Pou Chi to be and inadequate doctor. My new Dr. requested my medical records from Dr. Chi and his office stated that there is a $25 fee. I understand that there is a fee when a patient requests medical records, had I requested them myself I wouldn't have made such a stink about it, but REPUTABLE doctors waive this fee for other doctors. Ultimately, this fee was kicked back to me, and to add insult to injury, the medical records FAXED over carry a shipping fee of $2.12. Not only is Dr. Chi too old to give proper attention and care to his patients, but apparently is also extremely cheap. read more

So, finally after some back and forth. Dr Park himself is very nice and very professional. He makes sure you understand what is going on and explains options for you. The nurse Veronica there is the best nurse. She is so comforting, friendly and makes you feel comfortable about everything and genuinely cares. I have been going in a lot and she always remembers your prior visits. You might have to wait awhile in the waiting room and on occasion they have told me he was in surgery then called me to come right back. But all in all Dr park knows what's he's doing.
