My vertigo returned. Dr. Mazen explained why this could be happening. He was very articulate and had a very nice bedside manner. He then checked my ears and eyes. He listened to my heart and checked my throat which is still red but no bacteria. He recommended a spoonful of honey to sooth my throat which is what I've been doing so I was happy about that. He even called me that evening to let me know that he can prescribe medication that I can take when I have a future bouts of vertigo. He called it in to my pharmacy! If you have a billing issue, they WILL NOT help you. They have one person running billing and she is extremely rude and disorganized. They charged my HRA account twice for the same amount and I was trying to get it resolved. The number that pioneer gave me for billing was 708-336-9300. I called twice and finally received a call back. The lady was very rude from the start. I asked a question and she gave an almost yelling angry response and it almost felt demeaning over $20 LOL. I would not recommend this place and I will not be returning. read more

This is the absolute worst medical facility of any kind I have ever experienced. I went there for a check-up due to a Workers Comp case because of a fall I had in the parking lot of my company. First of all, in sitting in the waiting room for over an hour I heard and witnessed the reception staff complain about how bad things are with the staff. That they do not know what they are doing and constantly making changes. It appeared to be very frustrating for the lady, and I can sympathize with her, but is this something that should be aired in public for all the patients to hear? Upon finally getting in to see a medical staff person, the tech who saw me first, just had me go on the scale to get my weight and asked me questions about my fall. The only other thing that was asked of me was my height. No vitals were taken. No BP, no temperature, no checking of my eyes, ears, etc. Then she excused herself and sent in a nurse. The nurse did not check me at all. Again, not one vital checked or any other detail examination. She sticks her head in and says "you need to go to the emergency room". After I told her I knew that was not necessary, she said "Oh, so you think you know more than me? I have been a nurse for over X number of years and I think I know what I am talking about". I left after signing a form that i didn't want to go to the ER. The next day, I went to see my regular doctor and she diagnosed me with Whip lash, neck strain and spasms. I have now been treated correctly and cordially, as a patient should be. That nurse was extremely rude and unprofessional and the front desk staff, although cordial and helpful, should not be airing their "dirty laundry" for the patients to hear. Do not go to this place, keep far away. I have never been treated so poorly by a medical facility before. read more

Took my son as a walk-in on a Saturday morning. I was thankful to get him checked same day. The staff was so great at communication about what we could expect. They gave my son a juice to keep his fluids up without us having to ask. They have a very clean facility. You don't feel crowded and claustrophobic like you might in other clinics. There is so much bright light coming in. It isn't gloomy at all. The front desk staff made checking in super seamless. The NP who saw my son was amazing. Reem was very kind. My son went in for one thing and got treated for that and something else. My son has visible eczema, which I have never had examined thinking my at home care was enough. The NP took it upon herself to ask if I wanted to address that while in office, and I said sure. She went above and beyond to make sure my son was taken care of and that made the entire experience worth it for us. Thank you so much Pioneer Physicians! We will definitely return whenever someone is feeling under the weather in my household! read more

I booked an appointment on ZocDoc since the name of the physician was someone I had heard of before and had great reviews. When I arrived I was seen by another provider with no explanation given. I felt this was a bait and switch to have an appointment with a doctor I was familiar with only to be changed over to a PA. The PA ran tests and referred me to another Physician outside the practice. The next issue I encountered was they requested I make a follow up for my blood test results before I left. I declined. They then said they would give them to me over the phone (all normal results) but I received a full charge for a visit from them to my insurance for a 4 minute call. I work in health care and give patients results for CANCER over the phone with lengthy discussions and referrals and hand holding and we do not charge for this as is it part of their original office visit charge. This is a common scam that I tried to avoid. Owing $150 for a ohone call is extremely frustrating and my trust in this office is extremely low. Please beware. read more

Do NOT go here. I wish one of these reviews had warned me ahead of time. They mischarged my insurance so it was an office visit rather than a wellness check (which I had gotten the appointment for) and I got charged $500 for them to tell me they can't fill any prescriptions (the only reason I needed to go) and then they gave me a drug test. That's it. No sympathy, no empathy, and they treat everyone like they're an addict. Do not go here. Find somewhere else. read more

When I asked the front desk woman llean if I could step outside with my 2 daughters 4 and 7 because the waiting room is too crowded she told me no! I said my appt was a over a half hour ago and its too crowded she said sorry I can't call you when it your turn. I said I can see you, can you just wave us in. She said " whatever" mind you I made a appt. For 1130 and they are taking walk ins before us it is well after 1230 If we don't have covid already we may now. Update walked back in at 1235 asked what was going on and the rude front desk lady said I can't tell you ...wtf going somewhere else. Don't waste your time! read more

Worst experience I have ever had. I specifically booked with a female doctor due to concerns about a lump in my breast. I was greeted by a male doctor. I expressed my concerns about needing to get back on anxiety medication and about the lump and the following occurred: - The two women at the desk were openly discussing patient records. - The assistant who checked me in, after I asked her to not tell me my weight said, "you're literally fine." - After leaving the room the assistant was laughing and said, "literally just kill yourself". - I had to ask for a breast exam after stating I was concerned for a lump. The dr just wanted to give me a referral and be done. - My request for anxiety medication was denied because they wanted bloodwork. The doctor left the room and no one came to get me for the blood work and when I left the room all I heard was, "uh, back here." - When I sat down for bloodwork there was a white board that said "don't over think it". The first woman to try to draw my blood expressed that she hates doing it because she doesn't like hurting people. She tried several times to draw blood from my left arm, WITHOUT GLOVES. Then she called for someone else to do it. - The second woman grabbed the tube and apparatus with NO GLOVES with my blood in it and threw it in the trash. - She then proceeded to draw blood from my other arm with a glove only covering her fingers. - I was given a cup for a urine test with no prep pad. After returning with it, she grabbed it with NO GLOVES. - I was told by the dr I needed a follow up. When I got to the desk they said I didn't and they'd call with results. Today I called for results and they said that is saw the original female dr. I expressed that I hadn't seen her I saw a male when I specifically requested a female. The receptionist laughed at me. This place has no professionalism to be found. If I could find how to report them for definite HIPPA and safety violations, I would. read more

Let me start by stating that my review score has nothing to do with the care I received from the nursing and doctor staff. I thought they were very friendly and knowledgeable. The issue I have is how they're billing the insurance company for your visit / examination. I went in for an annual preventative physical and blood panel (both of which I had no issue with). Weeks later I recieved a call stating that I needed to come back in so they could share my blood work with me. I came in and went into a room for 3 minutes and was handed my results and asked if I had any questions. I didn't and left. I then recieved two separate bills and was told I owed around $300 out of pocket (after insurance already deducted their portion). Like with most companies, I'm allowed an annual preventative physical / blood panel at ZERO cost to me. After a handful of calls to my insurance and their billing department, I figured out that they were not billing my insurance correctly. They failed to include that it was a preventative / annual visit on my first bill and charged me $250 to PICK UP my results that they wouldn't provide to me unless I physically came in on my second. I worked with their billing department and was able to get the $250 visit dropped as a charge and they'll be resubmitting my other visit correctly so my insurance will cover it. The person who handles their billing was very friendly and helped me work through what exactly was going on. The way they billed my insurance is boarderline FRAUDULENT. I overheard someone else calling in while waiting at my first visit and it sounded like a similar situation on a billing issue. Not sure if this is a one-off event, but BEWARE of their billing process. Ridiculous that I had to spend hours figuring out why I was being billed for something I was VERY clear about when I had my initial exam. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't question their bill once their insurance took out their deductions, so who knows how often it happens. I will not be returning to this location in the future. read more

AVOID - multiple bad experiences. With my most recent visit on Monday the doctor prescribed me an antibiotic that my pharmacist pointed out I'm allergic to. The pharmacist tried to contact the clinic to get me an updated script but the doctor used her prescription pad from a different office so they weren't contacting the right place. I then called Pioneer Physicians first thing Tuesday morning and had excellent service from a staff member telling me that they would fix it and that the pharmacy should be in touch with me soon when the new prescription is ready. Tuesday evening comes and the pharmacy hasn't been contacted. I then call Pioneer Physicians back and they explain to me that they decided to change my treatment plan to wait and see until Thursday (without telling me) and that the doctor I saw wouldn't be back in until Thursday. They said that if they asked another doctor in the office to review my issue that would be "arrogant" then asked me if I understood. Of course that makes zero sense, I was now behind 3 doses of an antibiotic that I needed and my symptoms were getting worse. I was then put on hold for 15 mins and told that the doctor would call my pharmacy that evening to get it sorted out. I call my pharmacy this morning -- no word from the clinic. I then call the clinic and interacted with a medical assistant who immediately yelled at me for my rude tone -- of course I'm annoyed. I'm in physical pain and have been lied to multiple times. She then went on a rant about how she wasn't in all week and she had just opened the clinic and I shouldn't be upset because it's not her fault it was the doctors fault. This issue is still yet to be resolved. A SEPARATE INCIDENT... last December I was 7 months pregnant and had been fighting an upper respiratory infection and sinus infection for 6 weeks. Doctors are extremely hesitant to prescribe anything to pregnant women and a lot of over the counter medicines are off limits. At the appointment a doctor pops her head in and goes, "Great news you don't have COVID. Have a good day." I had to stop her from running down the hall and say, "That's not why I'm here. I know I don't have COVID." She then went on to prescribe me a Z pack and a steroid. I had to point out to her that I was 7 months pregnant and didn't think I could take those drugs. She goes, "Oh you're right." And wrote me a script for a different antibiotic. So now TWICE in two years I've been prescribed medication that could've harmed me and the follow-up has been a nightmare. Are people at this clinic generally friendly? Yes, most. I would argue that they are moving too fast and making some SERIOUS mistakes. read more

This office was very clean and was able to get in right away by getting an appt. online within an hr. I think I only had to wait 2 mins. when I arrived. No one else was even in the waiting room. Dr. Lindsey Crawford was the best and has a great attitude and was so caring. Loved her demeanor. Went for urgent care visit for flu symptoms and they did the rapid test and got results right away. Did more tests that cover like 15 different types of infections and will get them within the hour. Was sent home with a script to take to pharmacy but will wait until the results are in. I would definitely go back especially if I can see Dr. Lindsey. Great place and takes all types of insurances too. read more

We brought our daughter in for an infected bug bite on her leg. She (our daughter) was scared to take the band aid off and show the hurt spot. The woman helping us was extremely unhelpful, threw her hands up, and told us she couldn't help us. The PA then told our terrified daughter that she would have to have the spot numbed and lanced to get everything out. We were then ushered out of the room and probably billed for them doing nothing. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have smaller children because they have an absolutely terrible bedside manner. read more

I came in for a standard Covid test prior to an endoscopy, since the negative result was required for the procedure, and aside from the exorbitant testing charge, they billed me for a complete office visit for $327 claiming I complained of having Covid symptoms, which was untrue. Beware because once you walk in the door they are going to find a way to charge you for services you didn't receive. read more

The nursing staff are kind and caring. They were very helpful. However. I do not recommend anyone of color to get treated here. We were told to just go home and let our illness run it's time. I had to return because our sickness got so bad with severe headaches and wheezing. We were up all night coughing and trying to self care. Isnt this what doctors and insurance is for? We weren't prescribed any medication until we were much worse and demanded it. read more

If you like to receive surprise bills of hundreds of dollars (for months on end) and like to spend lots of time with your insurance company fighting with Pioneer Physicians for lab work and other charges that were "out of network" even though you were told you were covered, then by all means, go see these people. I was trying to find a primary physician. I went to Pioneer Physician for a physical and I always fast before getting a physical so I can get blood work done if possible. Well the visit quickly became something else after I took a few minutes to show the Doc my scars resulting from the previous visit from that facility with a nurse practitioner that was employed there. She decides she should diagnose me and prescribed medication that gave me an allergic reaction worse than what I came in for. I am not being insensitive but Doc starting talking about his skin condition and showed pictures and how a Dermatologist helped him with his condition. I am not here for you Doc is what I should have said. Next thing I know he wants me to come back after the lab work report next week and we will find a Dermatologist. First of all I only showed the scars on my arms and leg to show what happened as the result of my last visit almost a year ago and I was already healed and paid for covered by my insurance and $150 out of pocket from that incident and I did not ask to see a dermatologist. My scars are results from scratching from hives which could have been preventable had I been prescribed topical ointment which is what usually is prescribed when I had hives in the past and the discoloration will go away with time. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PHYSICAL DOC??? I am not coming back until I find out what I was billed for. After trying to contact the person in charge of billing and she found out I wanted to know what I was billed for this visit, the worker sent a text she would call me back later that day and I even left voice messages I kept calling for days still no return call or response. I contacted the owner and left a message on his phone since I had spoken with him before about my experience with his nurse practitioner previously which he informed me she no longer works there and he asked me to give them another chance and referred me to Dr Jose and when making the appointment let them know you are my friend and you are to see Dr Jose only. Well the owner of Pioneer Physician called me back and stated after I told him I was charged for a physical exam and I did not receive one .He rudely said we do not conduct physicals and then said I am hanging up now. I contact my insurance to let them know I never received a physical and I believe I was charged for one which blocks me from receiving a real physical. I am 65 yrs old and have been diagnosed in the past for life threatening conditions and I can not afford to have a doctor give me a physical only on paper. I found out he got specific with the fake exam . This doc is small in statue about my height 5'1 he stayed 6 to 8 inches away from me while I sat on the table with sun glasses on and I was never asked to remove My mask. So how could he get so specific with his findings which of course was not accurate I have special apparatus that I wear and certain conditions that was not disclosed because it was new from the original visit and not in my record a not updated that could only be detected had a physical been performed. I do not understand how he could betray my trust after I had just shared with him about my unfavorable experience in the past at this facility and I was not as trusting as I would like to be. I had to put in a grievance with my insurance so I can be covered to receive a Real Physical from a Doctor that takes care of the patients. Hopefully this issue gets resolved soon. Make sure if you go to Pioneer Physician in Bolingbrook that you make sure you know what you are being charged for. read more

I made an appointment today with Crystal for a possible yeast infection (sorry for the details, but they're necessary). I give the nurse all the lovely details, and in walks Tom, who didn't tell me who he was other than "Tom". Are you a doctor, a practitioner? I tell him what's going on, he seems uncomfortable. He asks if I want a physical exam or just medication. I could get medication on my own-I want a physical exam to solidify it's a yeast infection and not something else-I've been misdiagnosed before without a physical exam and my symptoms became worse. He asks if I want him to give me the exam I said sure. Then I'm told I'll have to switch to a room with stirrups, but it's currently occupied so I'll have to wait. No problem. Meanwhile, I can hear Tom in the next room asking someone if he should treat me for a uti-although my specimen came back negative. Feeling pretty confident at this point. When I finally get to that room, the previous patients information (medications, illness and all) is still opened on the computer. HIPPA would be so proud. Fast forward, the receptionist comes in and assured me a female will do my exam. And then in walks Tom with Crystal who I was originally supposed to have. He's clearly learning and actually caused me pain with the physical exam. I had to ask questions on what they thought it was etc because neither were offering up any information on their own. He then told me he'd prescribe me medication, didn't tell me what or how to take it--and out I go. As soon as I got in my car I was in tears. Never again will I go here. read more

I brought my mom here when she broke her ankle. While the attendant who took my mothers vitals was very caring and kind, the x-ray technician was horrid and impatient. After charging my mom $120 for the appointment, she came into the room and told us that she didn't think they could get the x-rays for us that day and we should just go to the ER. They had only taken my mom's temperature! And they did not offer to refund for the visit. We refused to leave and requested that she go ahead with the x-rays since we had already paid. When we got into the x-ray room, it was clearly being used as storage for snacks, drinks, and cleaning supplies! It was a mess! After the x-rays, my mom could hardly get herself off the table and into the wheelchair. No one helped her at all. They also sent us home without any crutches. We got a call two minutes after we left saying that she had a broken ankle. The next day they also would not give me or our ortho the actual x-ray pictures from their clinic, even when the ortho had specifically requested them. My mom had to pay for more x-rays to be done at her ortho. Unbelievable! I will never take anyone here again. read more

Pioneer Physicians is very unprofessional! Would not go here again or recommend. If I lived next door I'd drive across town for medical help. My daughter brought me here while visiting from Colorado as I hurt my ankle - we later learned I fractured left fibula. We went to this clinic as it was close to her. She asked for a wheelchair, from inside, to get me from the van. We struggled getting through the 2 doors to get into the office with 3 people behind counter watching, and no one offering help. The girl that did X-ray (assuming a tech? Didn't know her title) was standing behind the receptionist the entire time I am telling them my injury, registering and paying. She even answered a couple questions. Never mentioned she thought I should go to ER. Then after I'm taken back to a room with a CNA or MA(?) Taking my vitals, the X-ray girl comes in talking rude with an attitude in her body language, telling me I should go to ER because we probably won't know results till morning. My dghtr & I said we aren't paying $120 for a walk in visit just to have vitals done. She told other girl to quit taking my vitals. When the girl sheepishly said maybe we can refund her money, she gave her a very dirty look. We said we weren't leaving and it was ok if we didn't get result till next morning. The X-ray room was cramped as was doubling as storage. The table was high - it either didn't lower or she just wasn't offering. She gave me a stool and my dghtr and I struggled to get me on and off table. Back in the room the Dr was polite. She detected I was in the medical field by my choice of words and asked me. I told her I'm an RN. She obviously told the X-ray girl after leaving the room, because when the girl came to rewrap ace wrap and apply an air cast she straightened up her manners. Also acted somewhat nervous and said - "so your an RN?" And wanted to know what field I work in. All of a sudden she wanted to be helpful. When I was at front desk paying an additional fee for X-rays, she told my dghtr to bring van up to curb and she would help me out in wheelchair. Said she would call when they got results. Miracle of miracles, we weren't but 2-3 minutes down the road and she called with results that I had a fractured fibula with mild displacement and to not put any more weight on left leg. Didn't offer for me to turn around, since we had just left, to give me the Ortho order and crutches, but said my dghtr could come back the next morning (they had closed 10 min before we left). My dghtr immediately drove to a store and bought me crutches. When she went back the next morning they didn't offer or say anything about crutches. The Ortho office requested a CD of X-ray, so my dghtr made a second trip to Pioneer Physicians to request a CD and they told her they don't do that. They only gave a print out of results. Ortho office was not impressed with them and had to do more X-rays for the Dr. - Joyce M. read more
