RECENTLY, I hired him and pointed out the green moss growing on my edge shingles & could he also take care of that. He said he could spray it. He finished the job & left. A few days later, I found white spots (about the size of a poker chip) on my cedar deck, my gutters and my hardy plank siding. It was dried & crusty. I sent him photos showing the mess (and potential damage) that he left behind. He came back with a ladder, long handled brush and a bleach solution. He scrubbed the residual dried moss killer as best that he could. He left the site. 2 days later, I noticed a weird strip of my lawn (right next to where his truck was parked, next to the curb & lawn in front of my house. I went out to investigate and the whole area smelled like bleach. He claims to have "dumped the vinegar in the gutter". My guess is, his boots were wet with the wet bleach solution and he walked through my lawn and killed the grass. His work has become sloppy and reckless & will not be considered for any work in the future.

I found Freestone (Aka Builder, Roofing) on Instagram. I afmit I was a bit nervous to approach a company with ads on IG but seemed out of options. I'm so glad I did! Idir and his team, including Ran, were incredibly responsive. A rep came to my house within 2 days, an estimate for repairs were sent via email in less than 48 hours, and followed up with opportunities to ask questions within a day. Once I obtained insurance authorization to start work, Ran scheduled repairs to start in less than a week, and they finished a bit more quickly than anticipated. The job was quick. More importantly, the pricing was fair and reasonable, and the work was perfection. The crew even identified a hole in heating ductwork that was unknown so that we could get it repaired. Because they did such a great job and established superior communication and tryst throughout the process, I decided to hire Freestone for my bathroom remodel. Ran has already proved to be a rockstar in communication, follow up through the estimation and contract process. He's also been super patient with my work and travel/family schedule and all my questions! I can't wait to see what the bathroom remodel will look like when complete! I don't quite understand all of the 5-star rating postings. Regarding my own experience, I definitely would not recommend. I tend to think with so many 5-star ratings, and the poor customer service I have experienced, they are posting their own 5-ratings. Even the best businesses have some less-than-five-star ratings! He came out to take a look, but never came followed-up to fix the workmanship issues like, unfinished flashing around one of the skylights, flashing set too close (touching) to the barge boards, which resulted in the wood trim (barge boards) rotting out -- to name a few issues. What is even more mysterious is when you the company (503-628-6322 -- as posted on their Website), I always get an eternal busy signal. In addition, there actual address (location) posted online (before and after the pandemic) is (16055 SW Walker Rd #110, Beaverton, OR 97006) which is a post office box next to the Fred Meyer on Walker Road in Beaverton, Oregon. I've been told such a post-office-box-only scenario is something consumers should most often avoid. My friend who used to be a bank examiner for the FDIC said this was very indicative of a mismanaged and/or nefarious company. My friend said in the finance world, such PO Box scenarios have a nick-name as a place to send your: "Payment Only" -- meaning that such a business doesn't regularly intend to pay their bills or honor our word/contract, or the law. According to the Secretary of States Office David Somerville is an authorized representative for this company. In conclusion: I got a sense that the owner was not a roofer, or a very good roofer, because when he was on the roof he was standing on the ridge roof cap. This is something you NEVER want to do! No follow-up to correct workmanship issues; Not honoring your workmanship contract or your word; No answering your phone (eternally busy); No designated place of business, but just a PO Box. Are all good reasons NOT to do business with Ability Plus Roofing. What a charlatan! Recommendation to Karl: Maybe you should change the name of the company to: Inability Invisibility Roofing? Karl or David, I would be happy to change or "upgrade" my documented negative posting, but you'll first have to follow-through on what you said you were going to do!

The cost of the project was similar to what I would have paid separate firms so I went with one company for convenience. The crew only sprayed moss killer on the roof - the dead moss was not removed. I checked the text quote I received for the roof and it was silent on whether the moss would be removed. The website is also not clear on this and I've had the moss removed with past services. It was my miss but be aware. The house wash was a very poor. The crew left dirt splatters in many, many places (this has nothing to do with the paint as the owner implies) and did not properly rinse their solution so I have spots that cannot be removed from our painted door and will require a repainting (no discount was offered). The crew did not follow clear directions to stay completely away from a wall of the house where we have many delicate plants. I had to run out to tell them to stop and got covered in bleachy water which ruined an expensive pair of shorts (no reimbursement offered). The pressure washing was the worst I've ever had. The driveway was not completed (areas missed) as 1/3 of the curb was cleaned and the rest untouched and the back patio had piles of debris left both on the patio as well as kicked up all along the retaining wall (which they were not asked to pressure wash). They left with the whole house pretty wet so I did not realize how poor the work was until things dried out. The most shocking thing is they ASK FOR A TIP. Folks I tip well. But when I pay almost $2K for a big outdoor maintenance service I do not ever expect to be asked for a tip. The company did come out and properly re-do the work (costing me another few hours of water use) but I still have to spend hours to repaint my door and an adjacent window frame. I also get nearly daily spams asking for reviews so here is mine. I have suspected and now confirmed (on googe reviews) that owner responses to reviews try to paint the bad reviewers as angry or not credible. I am not angry (just disappointed) and I am credible. You choose for yourself.
