Since I "liked" their page I've been meaning to check them out. It took me awhile but finally got there last Friday night for a book reading/crafting event for kids for $5 I knew a little about the business and what they offered from Facebook but didn't really understand the concept till I was there. You can craft here a number of ways. On their walls they have tons of completed projects that can be customized just for you. Mainly the trendy graphic signs and such. For a fee they provide all the supplies, crafting space, and additional materials (glues, etc) as well as instruction. For graphic signs you pick from their enormous supply of specialty papers and they'll cut out the design on their circuit machine, provide instruction than you complete the project. You can customize the print, size, font, papers, and the backboard. You *may* even be able to bring your own design to them to see if it's something they can do. The crafting space is spacious and cozy - the perfect space to connect with friends and socialize while you craft. An added bonus is they do the clean up! While the projects on display are not for sale they are priced so you know how much it will cost to make. While I did feel the prices were the same or higher than buying the project premade from Etsy (for example) the experience and girls night out would make up for it. In addition to crafting on your own they offer workshops for specific projects ranging from graphic signs to string art - both for adults and children. The event we attended was a few days before Christmas. The children were encouraged to come in their jammies to hear a Christmas story, drink hot cocoa, than craft a wooden ornament. All for only $5! Our girls loved the experience and as grandparents we enjoyed that the painting, glue, and mess wasn't in our house! We'll definitely be back to craft some more.

It was hard to decide prices ranging from $60+ to $7. However, after browsing the selection, my mom and I picked two items each! It took me and her about 2 hours and cost $50, which wasn't bad at all. The only reason I give four stars and not 5 the workers when we walked in were just sitting talking didn't really engage with us or show us around ask if it was our 1st time I had to tell them. Also, when painting, I thought they would come around to see if we needed anything or look at our work and tell us we need more layers I had to ask. My wife and I were excited to end our first ever trip to Ice Fest by making a pottery souvenir. We…read morehad seen the Facebook advertisement to make a coffee mug with Carlisle Ice Fest stencils. However, our experience painting pottery left us very frustrated and determined never to return to this business when we're next in town. We've painted pottery in numerous studios in Maryland and New Hampshire, so we understand the basics of the process. When we entered the studio, no one greeted us or was seemingly working there to answer our questions. We wanted to know if there was a studio fee or if that was included in the pottery prices. Despite advertising the mugs, they were not easily identified as being the special. The staff, and I'm reluctant to actually call them employees, we're giggly teenagers who were more interested in chatting then helping customers. We had to stand in the check out line to get basic questions answered and ended up waiting for the owner to come over to have the stencil process explained. In addition to the lack of support from the staff, the owner/manager was busy running an adjacent store selling teas and other goods. As a result, it appeared no one was actually managing the pottery studio. Focusing on either the pottery studio or the other store instead of poorly running both would have improved everyone's experiences. The owner was gracious enough to ship our mugs to our home in Maryland. However, the packaging was poor and resulted in chipping one mug and completely cracking the other. Luckily, we can use the Japanese kintsugi technique to salvage our mugs as candle holders instead of their intended purpose.
