Wow, just wow! Looks inviting from the outside, the patio is seemingly pleasant. I ordered the seafood platter ($30) and a beer but never got a chance to eat. Before my beer was half finished my blood pressure was sky high because of the undue stress that the owner caused. The patio was 1/3 to 1/2 full. While Aubrey was my waitress- very kind, pleasant and prompt- the owner walked around the patio 90 to nothing, stomping his feet while walking, sliding chairs here and there (fast, furious and noisy) and just ran all over the place NONSTOP making quite the commotion. He asked me why I am leaving and he told me "I'm the owner, it's my job to take care of everyone"... No sir, it's your waitresses job to take care of everyone- you make this a very unpleasant environment. Sit down, trust your employees, go in the kitchen or something sir. We finally went here Saturday night after passing it many times. Their hours are limited to evenings. I believe they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Cecelia, our waitress was fantastic. We sat outside but this can be problematic when the suns sets as the biting insects come out. It's a very hidden spot and deceptive. It appears to be very small from the road but it's actually a large space with plenty of room inside and out. The owner, Rick, introduced himself and we chatted. I wish they were open for lunch but he told me there just aren't enough customers as the workers in the area all appear to pack their own lunches. Perhaps if more people from the base heard and understood how good the food is at this hidden gem he could get their business. We both had appetizers. My wife had the homemade red pepper tortellini soup, she loved it, I tried it, absolutely delicious. I had a cup of chili, red beans and meaty, with medium heat. Very good. I questioned Cece, because I wanted a shrimp Po' boy, however I've had bad luck in the area with minuscule portions (St Marys Sea Food) and a was afraid to order it. She assured me it would be ok. My wife got the pirate burger with coleslaw. Excellent homemade slaw, some of the best I've tried since being down south. My wife said the burger was perfect. My crinkle cut fries were crispy and very good. But my sandwich! Lightly breaded succulent shrimp packed on a hoagie roll. They provided remoulade sauce and what I think Cece called a Cajun ranch(?) sauce that was off the charts. Every bite had a consistency that you want in a sandwich. Just perfect. This restaurant will be closest to our new home when it's completed. We plan on being regulars. Hopefully people in the area will heed this review so we can get them to open for lunch. Had a great meal. Lori got the nachos appetizer as a meal. This was huge and is definitely designed as an appetizer for four (or more). I started with a cup of chili. This was excellent and had just a little bite. It was thick and meaty. The southern burger was huge and prepared to order with condiments on the side. Cecilia did an excellent job on service and as a mixologist and sommelier making on point recommendations. We had to drive about 15 miles off 95 to find the restaurant and were a little surprised that it was in a little shopping strip. The service was very good and the food was surprisingly good and hot. Our waitress Cecelia, who was also pulling bartender duty as well as serving was top notch! She was attentive and such a sweet person. We ate outside on the back patio and I have to admit it did smell like swamp gas out there but with the large fan blowing it kept the smell to a minimum. The bathroom inside was clean and neat. We both ordered drinks from the bar. My husband ordered the seafood platter grilled. Everything was good except the crab cake. They have a back patio that it looks like they have bands but they did not have one the night we were there. The food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. Friends said we should check Pirates Point as the owner/operators were super friendly and doing their best start up this historic local hang out. We're glad we did. They are welcome and the service is welcoming and the service attentive. The menu is straight forward sport bar fair done well. The beer is cold and they feature some fun rum based pirate cocktails. We had a great dinner tonight at Pirate's Point. The shrimp was delicious! I had the grilled poboy and it was seasoned perfectly. The remoulade just added a little kick to the flavor. I chose pirates point for my birthday because well its such a great place. The atmosphere and service are excellent and the food is delicious. I wish we would have come later in the evening for ricks music but i was starving. I got the parmesan chicken wings which never disappoint. We had the bottle cap pickles and jalepenos for appetizers. They are so good! I love the batter they use on them. I wish i knew the ingredients because it would be great for a fish fry. My mom and son got shrimp. My son loves the grilled shrimp and he is such a picky eater. For a drink i tried the pirate poison. The ingredients arent listed so i figured it was dangerous. I didnt die so its not really poison . Love this little gem of a place! Don't let the "right next to the gas station" look scare you off. Lots of locals, owner is so nice and really takes care of his customers. Nice outdoor area with heaters and fire tables. Trivia and Karaoke (with prizes) on Friday. Hubby had a special of the day shaved prime rib sandwich which he loved! I had chili fries which were just meh, but suspect I ordered poorly. Recommend to try to specials which are more fresh. I didn't love the crab mushroom balls that others raved about, but I don't really like mushrooms. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again! All the food was great! We had the crab bites with a homemade sauce which full of flavor. We had the Captain Jack burger which was not only huge but the flavor was an amazing combo. We also had flavorful fish tacos blackened with a mango salsa which was on point. The fries and Mac salad were so good. The owner even brought over some samples of their homemade ranch and potato salad to try. The server was the only one working but was extremely attentive as well as the owner helping bringing extra plates and goodies for us to try. Can't say good enough things about this place! We are locals right down the street and first time trying here after a year of moving here. This will def be a go to spot from now on.
