It was a mess when I opened it, the little bit of turkey that was on the sandwich was not even evenly spaced on my sun. My half had one piece measly piece of turkey, and piled high with old lettuce. So, I've been here twice, and they have the best subs in this area. Prices are ok but, the quality of the meats they use is far and above anywhere else in the area. The staff are very friendly and complete the order as asked and don't take all day. I'll keep coming back and the restaurant is very small but I always do take away, so I'm not bothered by that in the least. Haven't tried the gumbo yet heard it is good. read more

Larry's Giant Subs is hit and miss. I have had some really good subs and some that have been down right disrespectful. The service has declined in the last 12-18 months. Small things like the online portal for our location never being available and I have not been able to even get them to answer the phone to place a to go order the last 3-4 times I've called seems ridiculous. What is going on at this location? There aren't many other choices for Subs in this small city. I would recommend Angelo's. I'm about to give Firehouse another shot as well. Publix might also be the sleeper for cold subs in our area as well. read more

About five years the quality of their need was downsized. Then a few years ago the bun for a sub got smaller barely larger than hot dog buns in width. Therefore much less filling. I vowed I would not go back. Recently I was in a hurry and was close by and ordered the Big Boss Man sub and when they told me the price was $11,00 for and 8" I canceled my order. The sub I had - a 12" Philly Cheese steak and it was delicious - the bread is hot and fresh and what's remarkable about that is I was there 15 min before closing - no short cuts here or skimping - definitely I will be back and stop by when passing through. I did not have a great experience. I am from far far away, Raised in Philly, Reside in San Diego, visiting relatives in St Mary's. Walked in and made my order after a 4 hour car trip, ordered a simple 8 inch Philly, total came to 8 dollars and one cent. I had no change on me, subsequently, I said sorry, I don't have a penny, I will give you a penny next sub I purchase as I laid 8 dollars on the counter, she counted the money, looked at me and said your short a penny. I said really, then peeled off another one to receive 99 cents, not even in quarters! I looked at the pile of coins and turned away shaking my head. I would have tipped her a dollar if she let the penny slide! I sat down to wait for my sub, 3 people making sandwiches, not many customers, 35 minutes later my sandwich was ready. 35 minutes, for to go? I turn in my rental car and ate my cheese steak. SUB-PAR at best. If I had not had such a bad taste in my mouth from the crappy service, it may have tasted better! I will never go back to Larry's Giant Subs, by the way they aren't not giant! Someone needs to train there personnel on customer service and food preparation! I think I will take a huge handful of pennies in a cup and leave it on the counter with writing on it that says if you need one take one ! With over 50 different sandwiches to choose from I could literally eat here everyday and not get sick of it. The bread is incredible and the meats are quality. The staff is always friendly. If you're craving an Italian sub I highly recommend the destroyer! You're going to pay maybe a dollar more than you would at subway but these subs are the real deal. Kudos to Larrys for including a gluten-free option. Kudos to the older gentleman there who makes the employees use separate trays and put on new gloves to make my sandwich. However, I can only give 3 stars because as someone with many, many food allergies, I was extremely disappointed when they changed brands of GF rolls and they did not keep the original packaging, so no one had the ingredient list. There are times when people make mistakes and "forget" to add a certain ingredient to a sandwich. This place excels at forgetting ingredients. I've ordered delivery from here quite a few times. 9 out of 10 times they forget sauces or some other thing that is supposed to be in it. I strongly recommend you NOT going here. The problem was the bread, they used walmart bread and I was told by the employee they always use walmart bread for the 3 and 6 ft subs. No one liked the bread. Great subs, Kong's Club one of my favorites. Ham, Turkey, and Bacon on a toasted bun with spicy mustard...so good. The restaurant itself is pretty cool, with tons of sports memorabilia. The guy who owns it is a huge Pittsburgh fan, with Steelers and Penguins memorabilia prominent. read more

These guys are a little pricey. But, they're totally worth the money. There's a pretty big selection on what you can get. They do hot and cold subs. Everything is made to order. So, you can customize to whatever you like. They do meals (I always get this), you get a drink and chips. They also sell cookies (I'm not sure if you can get this as a substitute for the chips in a meal or not). I've never had their cookies so I can't really say if they're good or not. Though I'm sure they are beings that anything I've ever had there was delicious. They also have a thing they do where you get a free sub (or meal I can't remember which it is) after you get so many stamps. The only catch is you have to remember to save your receipt because that's what they stamp. I've only been to this store. I don't know what any others are like. This store is decked out in just about anything Pittsburgh sports related you can think of (I'm from Pittsburgh ;] don't worry though, it's not completely Burgh related, there's other stuff too =P). This store is always clean. The people that work there are always nice. All in all, I love this place and would totally recommend you try their subs if you get the chance. read more

My family and I went here for dinner around 6:30. We were the only customers and and were waited on very promptly. The young man behind the counter was very friendly, the guy making subs was texting on his phone with no gloves. The floor In the kitchen was disgusting it looked like it had not been swept all day. The trash was overflowing and the workers were laughing and joking. I think if you want to charge 9.00 for a sub you better have everything on point. read more
