I understood their cancellation policy fairly well, but what they don't tell you is that it only works for the specific location that you originally booked through and that it's not transferable to anywhere else. It also is only applicable on reservations and cannot be used for merchandise or drinks. I had friends cancel on me at the last minute (about 48 hrs beforehand) and did my best to use the rest of the credits in a timely manner, but being only a temporary resident my options were limited. They mention that it can be transferred to another person (newsflash I was later told it can't) and that they never expire (interesting considering their policy states it's only good for one year - apparently I read the policy better than the jerk on the phone). I understand it's a business and they have to make money, but at some point there's a balance between consumer and business and these guys definitely haven't found it. It's disappointing because the couple of classes I was able to attend were great, but their self-serving policy with little to no wiggle room and their poor customer service have made it so that I'm highly unlikely to ever attend any of their locations ever in the future.

I am planning to do some drawing and possibly more painting over the Summer. They offer kids classes too. We used water colors as the base today and she started by teaching several techniques, which was incredibly helpful once we started our abstract pieces. We also used pastels on top, which I thought added a really cool texture to my work. The teacher made each part seem so simple, everyone in the class was able to make something really beautiful. Being that the event was on a Saturday the parking lot was relatively empty so I didn't have to find street parking, but I did notice many of my classmates found street parking. No one complained do it must have been easy. The class was small and intimate with 8 of us present. The instructor Karin introduced us to the Art Students League of Denver, the offerings, and some history. We went around the room and discussed everyone's level of experience and interests. She really listened and worked to tailor our experience based on our responses. Each seat was set up with the materials we needed and we started off with introductory stitches. After an hour we focused on our Art piece and near the end of class picked up remaining supplies to finish our work at home. 10 mins before leaving we all did stretching exercises and cleaned up the room. I'd recommend attending if others are interested in learning something new or expanding their skill set.

The good things were that they offer a good range of classes from tumbling to acting, I only took acting and singing classes, they also do a lot of charity work and take groups to fun locations to sing. The bad things have scared me for life. I always felt as if I was not as good at singing or acting then the other kids, the vocal lessons started off in the main performing room were you would do vocal exercises and group songs then Teresa and Ashley would separate the kids into two groups, which I think is highly inappropriate because some kids struggle with confidence levels like me and I put on a shell that looks confident but I really struggle with self control so it was hard for me and for other kids. Another thing is that Ashley and Teresa put a front up saying that they don't try to make kids perfect when I think they do they also choose favorites ( I know every kid says that the teachers have favorites but in this case there where favorites) I always felt I was never up a favorite kid because they treated other kids differently. Amber who is a family member and student at spotlight is treated better then most kids and I know she has epilepsy and has a service dog for a reason but amber would bring her dog up to the stage and sing with It making the dog jump out of her hands and make a distraction also I'm afraid of small dogs and they give me bad anxiety so that was not helpful also they would hand out stickers to the "better" kids which again causes problems. The acting part was the same with the favorites. I remember going home everyday after those horrible classes crying. I have to go to therapy for anxiety and self esteem and when I went to spotlight they got worse Theo

Since leaving my child has flourished. I only wish we had done it sooner. Look elsewhere. The parents are cliche, nouveau riche, private school parents who judge and don't take the time to actually get to others. So much for being accepting Catholics.

I feel this studio is for the "few select few" whom Ms Witherspoon can teach and have quite a high level of experience. The website indicated you will be taught how to paint but this was not the case for me. I knew nothing about painting only having done paint by number through the years. It was suggested that I purchase over $400 of art supplies and through Jerry's only to find out with now being with the Greenwood Village Curtis Art Center that I do not need many of the paints nor brushes. I am learning about value, placement and how to mix colours to achieve and learn about the colour wheel and how to make the colours work for my painting. I was interested in painting a landscape and found the selection to choose from was around animals and things I was not interested in. I stopped because the only print that even came close just did not do anything for me.
