It was supposed to last 18 months, however mine lasted less than two months. As a Skincare Therapist and Patient with considerable experience with Dermal Fillers, I feel that Juviderm or Juviderm Ultra, would have been a much more suitable, stable product to use for such a dry Skincare Profile. I was scheduled on Friday for appointment on Monday and a family emergency occurred over the weekend. You can't call in the weekend to re-schedule so had to wait till Monday the day of my appointment. I called early morning but you can't leave a vm cancelling because it don't count. So I was told I had to pay another 50$ down to reschedule. If I was canceling due to my negligence I understand but a huge family emergency occurred and had no way of calling on the weekend. They definitely should of at least worked with me. It's not my fault I can't call and cancel day or days before as they mentioned they don't open Monday. And I was not trying to cancel I was trying to re-schedule my apt for either a later time or earlier time but the lady on the phone did not even allow me to speak. She right away told me I would have to oh another 50$. It was going to be my first appointment but won't be returning. To save you some time as you will respond the same thing on google... I notice that you have responded immediately, I do want to clarify that I did not hang up on midway conversation. I said ok and she said have a good day and I hung up. Also i was trying to reschedule but I was not giving a chance to speak and finish my conversation. I was hoping to get another time in the same day. But immediately they did not allow me to speak and finish my conversation. And thank you for your clarification. But I also had to clarify as well. Made an appointment to see Dr. Weiss, had to pay an unnecessary $100 annual admin fee and when I arrive for my appointment I see a PA (Mr. Thompson) instead. He ordered routine labs and at the follow up appointment prescribed a drug to help with my elevated A1C. When the drug company called to get preauthorization we did a 3 way call and his MA got on the line who was not only zero help but was RUDE!!!!! I was hesitant to book an appointment here because I was hoping Dr. Weiss could help me with a particularly difficult task: migrated filler. Specifically, after years of lip injections, I had noticed that the filler in my upper lip had migrated up and out. But dissolving the filler was not the hard part--I wanted to keep the filler that was actually in my upper lip and dissolve the filler that had migrated outwards. I have had this sort of dissolving done in the past and I needed more of it but I didn't want to drive to LA to see the doctor who injected me. I called around town and got some crazy high quotes, so I decided to see Dr. Weiss for a consultation in case her price was reasonable. Oh, and it was! Keith, the medical assistant on the aesthetic side of Dr. Weiss' practice, called me back to a room and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice he was. Dr. Weiss herself listened to my concerns, assessed my lips, and executed the dissolving flawlessly. I was blown away! Not only did she dramatically improve the appearance of my pout, but she also recommended some amazing products for my skin. I didn't come to my consultation with the intent to ask for help with my acne, but when I saw how beautiful her skin was, I had to ask what her secret was. I had been using tretinoin, clindamycin gel, and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cream for 4 months and my skin was so irritated and broken out. She not only took the time to carefully dissolve my filler, but she also mapped out an entirely new skincare routine for me which included Jan Marini's Duality--aka my skin's new savior. It has been a little less than a month and my skin has cleared up so much! I highly recommend Dr. Weiss; she is an amazing doctor with a great eye and a lot of insight. Words can not express the gratitude my family has for Dr. Weiss and her staff in treatment of our son. I began seeing Dr. Weiss at her Pismo Vitality branch of practice where she has successfully been providing me laser therapy for dark spots on my face for many years. Over these years as another mother of sons she listened to my tragic stories of my adult bi-polar son who not only refused to stay on regular medication but would not participate in his mental health treatment. Our son was sadly becoming seriously delusional, angry, and recluse. In short were losing him when during one of my visits Dr. Weiss volunteered to "take a crack" at getting him back on medication. Despite at first his trying everything he could to be difficult including spitting venomous hateful remarks, Dr. Weiss patiently explained the course of treatment, why it was necessary and convinced Greg to be a party of his own treatment. She was able to look objectively and troubleshoot the problem without taking his terrible behavior personally. It has been eight months and with his treatment he has transformed back to the thoughtful, pleasant and empathetic person he his functioning independently including going to the grocery store, scheduling car repairs and traveling to visit us by air all things that would not have been possible before. I was looking to treat my many yeArs of acne scars and I found the perfect place.... Pismo Vitality!!! I have searched the central coast high and low for places providing fractional laser treatments. There are only about three in the whole area that provide them and for a very high cost. In my search treatment was usually $1000-1200! Most people need 3-4 treatments, I knew since I have cystic acne scars and fine lines wrinkles and some very minor pigmentations I would need 5-7. At this cost it was looking like I would never get it done. Finally I found Pismo Vitality who offered great package deals. I bought a package and paid cash and I was able to save 50% per treatment! One star only because zero stars is not an option! I have never been treated so poorly in all my life. They do not take their profession seriously. They do not respect their patients and they really do not seem to care at all.They seemed so afraid that we could possibly have a covered California product (we don't but that is beside the point) that it was disgusting. I cannot comment on the Dr., we never got to see her even though the assistant who ordered tests for my husband for a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (a sarcoma) came back as positive. Even though we were promised that we could see the dr after the tests came back. He did more tests and we asked for an appointment. TWICE. So we could ask questions. Instead we were given an outdated list of gastroenterologists. We wanted to talk to the dr about what was going on (knowing it would probably be a while before we could get an appt. with a gastroenterologist) but Ultimately, we were told since we had a PPO, we could stay or we could go somewhere else, it was really up to us. I can't believe that this is how they treat their sick patients. I did not raise my voice, I did not cry. Quite simply the cancer diagnosis had us terrified, and in my opinion when a patient and their loved ones get news of that magnitude, a bit of caring and assistance is needed. (As in, they should have done a proper referral and secured the gastro appt. for us so there wouldn't be a delay) My office gets calls from family members who are in crisis all the time. Some yell, some cry, some are kind. We all handle things in our own way. ALL of us need understanding and a guiding light as my husband and I do now. It is easy to deliver. ***********KINDNESS AND UNDERSTANDING ARE FREE.***************** I would suggest going to a county clinic before going here. At least you expect to be treated poorly there. Appalling. We have since seen a few specialists in the area who also seem to get poor communication from their office in the form of unreturned phone calls and false promises and no follow through. If in fact the Dr is good, I would say it is unfortunate that she is unaware of her front office. Hopefully if she does care at all, she will see these reviews and make a change for the positive. My appointment to Pismo Family Practice came with anxiety & trepidation after reading the reviews--I should have listened! Dr Weiss does not listen to her patients. My 1st "meeting" was just that--her sitting with her laptop, never looking up & her just inputting the data into her computer & NOT listening to my immediate concerns. I told her what I had completed on my last yearly exam in Chicago & what I needed this time around---she didn't hear a word I said. I had a list of issues & she wouldn't even address those concerns. Her response was "let's do your labs, mammogram & Pap smear & we'll go from there. I told her my Dr in Chicago stated I didn't need a yearly pap anymore since my last 5 were all negative, so I declined the Pap test. She wanted me to make a follow-up appointment which I thought was going to be lab & mammo results discussion PLUS address my current symptoms & to my surprise she was planning on doing a Pap smear!!!! Who was I talking to, at my last appointment?? I paid my copay plus another appointment & I can honestly say, we accomplished NOTHING on that visit but just the money was put in her pocket. Is this how doctors are making their money since Obamacare--nickel & diming patients to make the same money they used to make prior to healthcare cutbacks?? Last but not least, maybe it's me but, I found it very strange that when I was called to the exam room, I was met by Dr Weiss's 12 year old son who took my vitals & questioned me about my visit!!! No one in the office seemed to think this was strange but me! I asked him how long he had been "working" there & he stated 3 years!! What would the AMA or the Society of Family Practice think about this or can physicians who run their own practice "employ" who they want no matter what age or experience?? I was really shocked at how unprofessional the front desk staff was. 1.)The asked me about private tests in front of the whole waiting room. Even after the dr. reprimanded the person who did, it she continued. I was shocked at the unprofessional but didn't say anything. 2.) I had a bad splinter in my arm and made an appointment to get it taken out because it was too deep to get myself. The front desk didn't schedule enough time for this "procedure" to be done so it ended up being a "consultation" to make a real appointment for the appropriate amount of time. Then on the second appointment it wasn't fully removed. By the third appointment it was finally taken out. Meanwhile I had taken off work and paid for three dr. visits when two of them were their fault. 3.)One time when I was severely injured and in pain, I called the office at 9am for an emergency appointment and pain meds. They continually gave the run around. They said they would call back but never did. After 2 hours I called back to get a completely different excuse and another brush off saying they would call back. This happened all day with 5 different excuses and 5 times of saying they would call back within the hour and NEVER did. Meanwhile I was in severe pain and ended up having to go to the medstop for care. When I got an appointment for a checkup on my injury i just got excuses from the dr. about her staff and all the different and bizarre excuses they gave me. I am in Pismo, not Santa Monica!! Negative stars, if I could: I was a patient of Kimen Colgan, PA who worked under Dr. Weiss (Dr. W). Kimen left the practice. Here is why I will never see Dr. W: When I was under Kimen's care she wrote me a mail order RX for a year that expired on 11-30-21. I requested my last refill on 11-23-21. The pharmacy had a glitch on 11-23-21 and erased all the RX refill requests for that day. I moved during this time and it wasn't until 12-21-21 that I realized I hadn't received the RX in the mail. Three pharmacists called Dr. W to explain their error and that I had a legal prescription on file and that I did request a refill before it expired. They also requested a 30 day supply approval to get me through to the next available appt on 1-21-22. Dr. W outright refused to authorize this because she hasn't seen me. If she had taken the time to look at my records she would've seen the legal prescription written by Kimen. I will now be without my meds for about three weeks. Appt Cancelled! "First do no harm"?????? Dr. W needs to go to compassion training. Time to find a new doctor! read more

If you are considering any facial rejuvenation with laser or removal of lip lines, Pismo Vitality is the place to go. I recently had some skin resurfacing done with laser by Dr Weiss and some lip lines erased with fillers. It has only been two weeks and the difference is amazing. My experience with Dr. Wendy Weiss at Pismo Family Practice was absolutely horrible. I'll start with the positives. The office is clean and well kept and depending on who you get the front desk staff is personable. I have had very friendly and welcoming nurses who take my vitals while waiting to see the doctor. As great as these things are, they are not what is important to the visit. Now for the cons: The, office although nice, is a walking billboard for cosmetic surgery. In the past I have seen Valarie who is very nice but fairly dismissive. A missed diagnosis from her sent me to multiple visits and hundreds of dollars spent with a specialist. Following that experience I decided to request Dr. Weiss in hopes that she might be a better fit with more experience and expertise. I was completely appalled with my encounter. I left her office feeling void of any positive regard and unimportant. For starters the day prior to the appointment staff called and said she needed to move my appointment for earlier in the day. After re-arranging my work schedule I agreed. Greeted by a super sweet nurse who took my vitals there was only a short wait before Dr. Weiss came in to the exam room presenting as cold and abrasive. No greeting and no introduction. She made a brief comment on my request for physical exam without questioning my reasoning. When she began writing up my lab slip with no eye-contact or further questions I asked her if I could explain my symptoms, since she didn't care to ask on her own. Abruptly and sounding somewhat annoyed she agreed and continued to stare at her computer as I listed symptoms. She remained dismissive and unresponsive to every single one. No clarifying questions, no request for severity or timeline of symptoms. Not a thing. When I tried to give her more information she acted annoyed, cut me off often, offered no empathy or validation of my concerns and basically told me there was nothing to be done but run the lab. How about some words of comfort, validation and empathy, doc? That's something you can do. I noticed the lab work seemed very basic and I question the thoroughness of her requests. I left wondering why I came into her office if lab work was the only thing to be done. $30 copay in addition to what my insurance covered got me 5 minutes of wasted time and horrible treatment. I called to follow up and express my concerns. The front desk extended their apologies and assured me either Dr. Weiss or someone else would follow-up however never heard back. In writing this review I don't know if Dr. Weiss was having a rough day, burn out, unskilled or is just a rude person, but I hope that she can take a moment to reflect on the profession she has chosen for herself and remember the impact she has or can have on people as they put their lives and the trust in her care. read more

The star is only for the doctor & nurse at Pismo Family Practice, as they were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it takes more than a good doctor to run a good office. My problem is with the other staff/front desk people. At this office, they sign you up for something called "Patient Portal" which is supposedly your medical information accessible online. I thought it would be a very helpful way to access my prescriptions/test results, etc. However - they do not keep it updated at all and it is in fact, very inaccurate. There are several prescriptions listed on my portal that I have never ever taken. Also, if you ask the girl at the front desk about this website, she will tell you that she knows absolutely nothing about it in a somewhat insulted voice. I recently visited the office to confirm that I am pregnant and get my first blood tests done. It has been1 month since that visit and they have yet to call me to confirm/deny that I am in fact pregnant (at this point, I know that I am, but come on - why did I even bother going to the doctor?) or to let me know about my blood test results. My visit was a COMPLETE waste of my co-pay. I have called them twice asking for any results done that office visit. The first time I called, the girl told me she would get back to me in a few days. She didn't. Today, I finally got access to my blood tests but still, no one will tell me what my pregnancy test result was. Pregnancy is kind of a big deal, and just because this isn't specifically an OB/GYN office, they should treat pregnancy and the patient with the respect they deserve. Also, on the day of my original visit, I was handed a stack of papers printed up regarding pregnancy. When I got home and looked through them, I found the print out for another patient's prescription. Wow. That's pretty bad! They violated patient confidentiality big time! Yikes. I'm writing this in hopes that the office will read it and make a better effort to train/inform their staff, update their "patient portal" or just delete the dumb thing, make a greater effort to follow up with patients, and be much more careful about their patient records. read more

Called to schedule an appt. and got in right away. This is what my one star is for as well as for the nurse. The nurse asked my symptoms and spent "some" time with me. She got out a swab to have the dr. check my throat. The Dr. came in and confirmed what I thought I had (bronchitis) and asked if I had the flu shot. I told her no, and that I did not want it. She seemed a little upset that I did not agree to get the shot and basically rushed thru the rest of the appt. with me. She did not swab my throat nor ask about my ears hurting me. I had to ask her about a referral to another dr. for another symptom of something I was concerned with as she was headed out the door. She seemed in a hurry and was annoyed that I would not get the flu shot. Very disappointed. Will be changing Dr.'s soon!! read more
