IMHO, this was a waste of money, time and inner resources. There is a lot of hype about the NAD+ IV therapy. I chose Ken Starr Wellness and believed that NAD+ made a lot of sense. NAD+ did literally nothing for me after the placebo effect wore off. Dr. Starr seems to really believe in this formula but when it clearly didn't work at all for me he had no other suggestions and after agreeing to a certain amount of follow-up, stopped due to "new DEA rules". I was truly left hanging and in a compromised state of physical health. His only suggestion was that I return to SLO for more NAD+....at over $2000.00 a day, after already knowing that it did not work for me. He has written to me regarding this review, denying this and telling me if I don't remove it, he will basically publicly shame me. His words: "You've been through a lot. I tried my best to help you. Your review is disingenuous and completely false. You didn't want to follow up with me.You relapsed, You (removed copy)..(removed copy) You can't blame me for that. Please consider removing the post before I publicly respond with the above comments." I am not blaming Dr. Starr. I am saying the NAD+ protocol definitely did not work and he refused any follow-up ON THE PHONE, the ONLY way I could continue. I have NEVER written a bad review for anyone, ever before. But after more than a year of deep introspection I felt I must this time. It seems all of the reviews are 5 stars, so my negative experience is but one among the many who all seem to have had awesome results. I feel it is my responsibility to others looking for help to give my honest review. I used his program to stop the use of a natural legal plant that turned out to be very addictive. I was his first client who came with this particular substance so it is possible that the substance itself was not treatable by NAD+. I did start small amounts of the plant again as my physical health was in serious jeopardy after leaving his clinic. Now, I am free of this substance for 3 months after addressing the imbalances that it caused, on my own, using saner methods that didn't involve throwing away GOBS of money on a mostly untested protocol. Is this wrong to say? Isn't this what the freedom to review someone has given us? It was stupid for me to spend my life's savings on a treatment that has so little real science supporting it. But this review is not about my stupidity....it is about the NAD+ protocol along with what I experienced as less than professional medical treatment. I was prescribed opiates for chronic pain about 12 yrs ago, andwas given increasingly heavy doses over the years. A year ago I was on 150mcg/hr Fentenyl patches, (12) 10/325 Norcos, (12) 8mg Dilaudids, and 500mg MSContin per day. One year ago I decided that I would rather deal with the pain than live in a drug induced fog and be at the mercy of a "pain specialist". I went to Dr. Starr, who I met in the ER where he worked. We came up with a plan that I could live with and here I am, less than a year later. I have been opiate free just about a year. I started at 24mg of suboxone, probably a maimum dose, and I am now at 4mg/day, and reducing every month or two. Hopefully, I will be done with the Suboxone in a few more months. When I first saw him I was pretty much circling the drain, physically and emotionally. I'm still in quite a bit of pain, but I'm dealing wth it. The main thing is that I am DRUG FREE. I feel good, and every day, I feel better. I'm getting my life back in order. People tell me all time how much better I look. My relationships with friends and family are better. Even with the pain, I seldom even think about narcotics. Bottom line, Dr. Starr saved my life, and the Suboxone made it fairly easy. If you have an addiction problem, don't waste your life.Get some help. Dr. Starr made it easy. You don't have to suffer. You'll feel bad for a couple of days, and then things start getting better right away. If you really want to get off the meds and change your life, this guy can help you. He never made me feel uncomfortable or talked down to me like some MDs do. He and his staff are professional, but very laid back. I have been an opiate addict for over half my life and when I made the decision to get sober, Dr. Starr saved my life. Dr Ken Starr is the BEST suboxone doctor on the entire central coast! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him and his staff to anyone that is struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction. After over the past 10 years of my life I have been on very strong prescribed medications due to my chronic illness. These medications have taken over my whole life. I've been struggling with a variety of addictions, coupled with PTSD, depression and anxiety ever since I returned from Iraq in 2006.
