I was so pleased with my visit to the Bremerton City Nursery. I am working on a small landscaping project and was in need of some shade plants. I got some great information and encouragement from one of the employees ( sorry I didn't get her name) regarding their selection of plants, some of them native to the region. The plants are healthy and green and I think fairly priced for quality. Some plants were thriving--in better condition than I've seen at other nurseries, while some looked a little sad--in poorer condition than I've seen at other nurseries. Nice selection for a smallish nursery. I spent over $500 and like to help out local establishments. I have a new home in Port Orchard, and was redoing some front yard gardens. They were knowledgeable, which is why you want to buy at a nursery versus big box stores. They even provided a bag of planting fertilizer for free. They insisted on loading everything into my car with no help from me. I will definitely go back as I have a huge backyard to plant also. read more

An excellent nursery attractively laid out, everything from ornamental and fruit trees on down to the smallest groundcovers and everything in between. Fine shade-plant selection. Ready-made hanging baskets. Helpful good-hearted staff and owners. A sincere "neighborhood" feel to the business with occasional "events" usually well attended. This place rocks!!! We went for the Garden Club Members appreciation night, tonight. Sometimes on Fridays, they have special snacks [tonight was soft serve cones and rootbeer floats] and stay open late. Not only did we get treats, we were each given a tray and told we could choose free plants from 2 different tables. I got peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant and some annuals [including quart sized geraniums!!]. Being a part of the Garden Club is super cool b/c all of my purchases give me points which equate to "Garden Bucks." I used my Garden Bucks tonight to get an ecchinacea plant, but I can save my bucks indefinitely. One year, I used an accumulated amount of Garden Bucks to get a Christmas tree!! I highly recommend this nursery. The staff are very attentive and helpful. The plant selection is impressive for a smaller nursery.

Every employee is knowledgeable of the plants they have and I have not been given bad advice or a "guess". Their plants have mature root systems that can withstand the "learning phase" of newly bought plants (black thumb). The plants I have purchased from this nursery have a 100% survival rate and I refuse to go anywhere else. read more

I understand that things are harder with social distancing and all these rules being in place but I was pretty disappointed today when I tried to place an order for tommarow. I live near by so we pulled in to see if they're open, not expecting it to be. I saw that they're doing curbside pickup. Great. So I go home and get online to order. I found what I wanted and when I go to checkout their's this huge notice about waiting 36 hours for your order, even for pickup....what?! If my plant is in stock at the store and your open, why do I need to wait that long....all they do is walk back there and grab it, I was watching them do it today....then I see that theirs a $50 minimum for pickup and shipping....but thats the ONLY way to get it. Plus, they wanted to add a $10 service fee on TOP of that. Way to be greedy... They do give you the option or not to pay it, which i found odd. Of course people are going to say no. I guess they just want big business, not really sure. I understand it's the day before mothers day but I wanted the plant to be fresh, I kill things easily. Sadly I ended up going to the grocery store. I'm not trying to spend money to not even get it in time. read more

The employee I interacted with wasn't the friendliest but she helped me with my questions and selections. I contacted 7-10 nurseries locally and throughout the state in search of lupinus albus (white lupine) for a client. I was told repeatedly that this search was futile. All I really needed was white lupine and it did not necessarily have to be lupinus albus. Theresa, like a saint, saw lupinus 'gallery white' on one of her lists, ordered it and set it aside for me, and then contacted me to let me know that she had done so. Receiving that message was such a relief as I had just about given up! Theresa and John and very helpful, personable, and so is their staff. They have a great selection of plants and garden decor, and you can even grab some coffee or tea while you shop. Wonderful local business! read more

I wish this was my neighborhood nursery. Great to talk to the people there and some stunning specimen plants there along with all the hard-working nursery standards. Product selection is decent, plants are in decent shape. If only the owner was even a little bit pleasant, welcoming, appreciative of folks who come in and spend their money in this business it would be a good experience instead of a "grit one's teeth, go through check out, and get out of here". Yard staff is pleasant and helpful. It's only the check out experience which is unpleasant to endure. Especially when someone has shopped here for years an expectation of at least a little bit of warmth seems reasonable. read more
