Spicy Philly cheesesteak with white American, and chicken quesadillas! Wow!!
Cheryl R.

The yummiest homemade southern "breakfast all day" cookin'! You won't be disappointed if you don't mind Diner-type atmosphere. They even play 50's classics. Love this place. We're from Houston. Stopped on the way to WV, and stopped on the way back home.

Hash brown bowl with mushrooms and ham.

Each of us really enjoyed our meals - burgers, hash brown bowl and biscuits and gravy were delicious! Service was impeccable! Thankful for this hidden gem - it was a great stop as we travel through Virginia! Picture is of the Hash brown bowl with mushrooms and ham.

Loaded Nachos

Had the grilled chicken salad. Excellent! Waitress and cook were friendly and service was great.

Excellent service from Skyler, delicious food and clean restrooms at the Wooden Pickle. My sweetie…read morehad their famous mahi mahi street tacos, a messy delight, and I had the portobello panini sandwich, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and very tasty. To go with it, I subbed a salad instead of fries, and for a small up-charge, I had a half of their pear and blue salad sans the bacon. It was so good! I want to go back for a whole salad and try one of their flatbreads to go with it, so I can bring some leftovers home for lunch the next day. Now, if they had a cocktail offering with a product from the nearby distiller, I would have made him be designated instead of me.

Servers walked round us several times before acknowledging we were there. Okay to wait for a table, but when the table becomes open, acknowledge us and let us sit, rather than continuing to make us wait. We were seated and waited again before given menus and cutlery. A couple sat down several minutes after us and were given cutlery and menus. I get different waitresses have different tables, but a table who arrives first should be served first. And yup, they got their food before we did. Food was disappointing. Fries were warm. Crab cake sandwich (with shrimp) lacked flavor, and tasted like a crispy potato cake. Buffalo chicken sandwich should not be kids chicken tenders toasted in sauce falling out of the sandwich. Burger was overcooked and dry. The bathroom needs a clean. Slippery floors, cracked tiles that feel like you're going to fall through the floor. Around disappointed

Such a good selection of sandwiches, salads and pizza. We got an order of onion rings to start off with. They were delicious with there house sauce. I ordered Camp Creek Club with house made chips. It was on toasted sourdough bread with a hearty helping of ham, turkey, crisp bacon, lettuce and thick slices of tomato (I opted to leave off the cheese and mayo). The Ham and Turkey were not deli meat but actual pieces of sliced ham and turkey! My husband ordered The Nate which is a fried bologna sandwich. It came with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. The sandwiches were huge and very good!. He finished half of my half and I got the other half to take home for dinner. We had to save some room for the ice cream. Half of the restaurant is the diner and the other was ice cream and cake. There was plenty of choices of both! It was good creamy ice cream. Annie, our server was wonderful and the young man at the ice cream side was so delightful. It was very clean inside and out. This was a definite good lunch stop!

Before getting on the road, we decided to stop here for breakfast to avoid having to stop again…read morehalfway. With two kids in tow, we were worried there would be a wait, but thanks to summer break, we were seated quickly and all of the staff were super friendly and attentive. Holy moly, the eggs. I have no idea what magic they put into them (maybe butter?), but they were sooo flavorful! My kids (who are moderately picky, especially with their scrambled eggs) scarfed them down and asked me for a few bites of my omelette. The kids cleaned their plates (pancakes, egg, bacon) and so did my husband and I! I got a simple meat & cheese omelette (w sausage) and expected a pretty standard omelette - but those eggs, man. Those eggs! Hubs got western omelette with ham, and same. Go get Joe's eggs!! You won't regret it. Added bonus points for a deliciously fluffy biscuit and hot, yummy coffee!

We came in on the morning of 11/16 after we checked out of Main St Inn. Our plan was to grab a late…read morebreakfast, do a little shopping, tour Blacksburg to witness how much it's changed, then attend the basketball game. Joe's was a nice start to the day as they provide good food and good service within a tiny, but capable venue. Joe's is located near the Main St-College Ave intersection, next door to Hokie Hair (mind you, College Ave is no longer open to traffic, it's now a huge sidewalk). They are small and, since all the buildings along this portion of Main St are older, its interior is dark and dated. A makeover could be in order, but its old school look and feel lends itself to the friendly small town vibe I've become accustomed to in Blacksburg. This diner was nearly full, so we sat at the bar. There were three servers on the floor - all students. All three were friendly, helpful and loquacious (we talked about college in general, how to take advantage of a college's resources, and even discussed desired future outcomes of their educations - plenty of interesting topics for a chill Sunday morning). Neal had the t-bone steak and eggs, while I ordered a dish known as Joetaters (diced potatoes, cheddar jack, eggs, onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms; and a choice of either bacon, ham, country ham, or sausage). Joetaters also came with a choice of white or wheat toast (or you can choose a biscuit for an extra $1.50). I chose wheat toast, and the entree was excellent. Neal ate his entire meal, so it's safe to say we enjoyed our food. Joe's is an excellent diner with awesome food and service. I can't wait to dine there again when I return. Thank you, Joe's Diner!
