I have been craving some falafels and I searched online and saw this place and wanted to try them out and I'm glad I did. It was pretty yummy! We ordered the falafels, chicken shawarma with fries, hummus with pita and lamb Shawarma. Everything was very good. They don't have dine in so they only have drive thru. You will have to order it and wait about 10 minutes at the drive. It's not a long wait knowing that they cook it fresh right there. We brought it home and it was still delicious. We will definitely come back again!

A place like this is proof that often the best tasting cheap food is found in overlooked places that aren't at all bougie. It even has a name that's basic and generic. Pita Falafel is an old drive thru in Palos Hills. Looks like crap from the outside. They serve very good shit from the inside though. Basically it's a drive thru and you order from a vehicle and wait a few minutes for it. It doesn't take very long. This is fast food after all but it's just Middle Eastern instead of burgers and fries like most places. Cheap meals. The one I got here was the Super Falafel Sandwich. It's $5.99, which is hard to beat around here. This has hummus, pickles, and tahini. It comes on shrak bread. This is basically just a pita. Good cheap food. It's hard to find cheaper than here. They have a drive thru, but no parking lot so you'll have to find somewhere else to go to eat l this.

Just happened to see this place passing by and wanted to try it... the food is good and they give you a lot of food.. it feels you up but it's enough for two people off that one meal

This is the diamond in the rough. This place is situated in a part of Bridgeview/Palos that has been revitalizing over the past decade, however, when this place opened, it was a different story. The building was a small drive through cigarette and coffee shop called Smoke and Joe. That's all they sold, and the place was just big enough to support it. It didn't take Dunkin too long to realize an untapped market so they opened up right next door and drove Smoke and Joe out of business. When Pita Falafel opened, i laughed. It didn't even look wide enough to fit a grill. It was drive through middle Eastern food. You can't cook it that fast. "I bet it's horrible". Across the street was an abandoned semi truck transfer station. Next door was a dog kennel that seemed too run down to be legal. Beyond that were several more abandoned buildings. The most prominent things in the area was a really old Walmart and a motel a mile up the road. I drove past this place a million times and always shook my head, but then something changed. I had recently tried middle Eastern food, but it was too far away to go to. Driving down Harlem one day, so hungry i could eat my steering wheel, it was the roach infested burger King or Pita Falafel. I chose Pita Falafel, and my life was changed. The sandwich looks like you didn't buy enough food, but if i eat it for dinner, i don't need breakfast in the morning. It's that filling. The garlic sauce is like a robust creamy dew dropped from the gods, and the people? Every time i have gone here, every person that has served me has been the most polite and well spoken employee. When you go there it feels like they are serving you, which is what is lacking, like, everywhere else. I hope they keep whatever magic they have going on right now because it always puts a smile on my face when I'm done eating.

Actually is a pretty good amount of food. The prices are okay for portions. Coming here this is where we knew to go. It's one of the few places in the food court that isn't fast food or other chains typically in a mall. This is one of those places you order at the counter and they make it in front of you. A lot of options to choose from. Prices are okay for what you get it seems. It's about $3 for a lemonade. These come in a few flavors including mint. Had a minty tangy taste to it. The food is a choice of bowls, pitas, or salads along with choice of protein such as beef, chicken, or falafel. It's about $12 for the Falafel Bowl. This has almost unlimited toppings so I had them pile on these. Choose various sauces and vegetables to add. This was actually pretty filling so the name makes sense to be honest. Has to be the best place in the food court. It's located on the top floor. There's plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians.

The line was pretty long which gave me an indication that it was popular/good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered their Falafel bowl, with rice and a bunch of their available options. You are allowed to select 4 and then every topping after that is $1 per topping. This seems a bit extreme as they are NOT generous when adding your selected ingredients. I was expecting a much larger portion, but understand they are a business and have to manage their margins. The food itself was fine. The falafel were just ok, and had been sitting in a container, lacking the crispiness and freshness I am used to normally. For the extra options, everything tasted fine, I just felt skimped on the portions I was given. The highlight for me was the hot sauce that they offer. It was extremely flavorful and had a nice level of heat. I would buy that by the bottle if It was available. I think Falafill is worth a try, but you just have to manage your expectations. They do not come close to the traditional mediterranean restaurants I am used to visiting, but for mall food it's pretty good.

It's shawarma and the authentic taste of what comes together in an explosion of taste and flavor is undoubtedly delicious when you walk into the shawarma king your nose signals to the brain to get your taste buds ready if you're not already salivating over the smell. 4 Stars for Shawarma King in Gurnee…read more This is a pretty convenient location and directly across the street from Six Flags Great America, and also close to the 294 highway. The food I had was pretty tasty, I got to try the chicken and beef shawarma plate - very expensive but very tasty, big portion enough for 2 meals. I also tried the beef kifta kabob wrap with a side of falafel- delicious! They threw in an extra falafel as well, thanks! There is also plenty of seating inside if you want to dine in. My only negatives are they do not give free cups of water, you have to buy a bottle if you want a drink. And they only include one tiny cup of hot sauce with your order. Overall, it was a good experience, if you want Mediterranean and you're in Gurnee it's not a bad choice.
