I feel like the prices here are too expensive to justify the quality. My favorite thing was the babaganoush. Also, the service is not great. It feels like the staff haven't been trained properly. There were times that our waitress seemed lost and didn't know what she was doing. We had to ask other wait staff questions to get proper answers. Also, don't advertise a special menu on Opentable and give people the option to reserve the menu when you aren't offering it. Came here for latkes and caviar for NYE since it said it was on the menu when I reserved on Opentable. Got there and was told they only served it during Hannuka Hanukkah. Checked their IG and they were still posting they were serving it. Total let down.

The table-side hummus was very standard hummus, and the table-side experience didn't add much. The baba ganoush was pretty good, however. I didn't love the pomegranate seeds, but they kind of just got in the way and made it harder to eat. The prawn risotto was decent, but again, nothing really blew me away. The service was great, and the ambiance inside was great as well, but due to the food just lacking much personality, I will not be returning.

I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

The consistency of the sandwiches has stayed the same in all the years I've been getting them. That goes for the chicken gyro too. The sandwiches are jammed with fresh ingredients and drizzled with their home sauce. Either option, and you're good! Make sure to get the fries. Their fries are addicting. Perfectly skinny and salted. Better than Mcdonald's, and we all know those are crack fries, so are these! Remember to get a sauce or get them all. Their sauces are all great. The only bad thing is they need to do a better job hiring people to take the phone orders. The lack of attention and care is why people have items missing from orders hence negative reviews. After the first couple of times that I noticed the pattern, I stopped calling and will instead go inside to order. The place is small, and even though you rarely see many people inside, they are swamped with to-go orders. So do yourself a favor and go in and order too. The wait is short.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. It strikes a great balance between energetic and intimate, making it an excellent spot for a romantic date night if that's what you're looking for. Our server, Sam, absolutely made the experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. Both were excellent, and I especially loved the herb mayonnaise that came with the chips. I didn't even realize it was mayonnaise at first because it was so fresh and flavorful! We also shared the Caesar salad, which was delicious. The next morning, we came back for breakfast and ordered the Jerusalem bagel with egg and cheese. It was absolutely decadent and the perfect way to start the day. Between the outstanding food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service, this restaurant exceeded every expectation. A huge shoutout to Sam for making our visit so memorable. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area to explore more of the menu and, hopefully, have Sam as our server again!

There was roasted garlic in the center looked great, but it didn't punch up the flavor as much too much. The pita was fine, but a bit dry and plain. For my main, I had the Israeli Breakfast with a side of pastrami smoked salmon. The eggs were soft-scrambled very well, and the salmon was exactly how I like it--fresh and buttery. I swapped the pita for seeded sourdough, though it looked and tasted more like standard buttered toast to the point that I double-check edwith the staff to confirm it was the sourdough. The Israeli salad was finely chopped and provided a nice balance to the meal, though it was a bit watery and lacked a flavor punch. The labneh with za'atar was thick and rich and good in small doses added to bread or the eggs. However, I think this combined with the other food was the source of the meal ending up being overwhelmingly salty, leaving me reaching for water for the rest of the day. I also sampled the chicken shawarma--the flavor was great, though it was a bit oily from the paprika oil and felt a tad pricey at $28. On a brighter note, the hot mint tea was fantastic, with hot water served over a generous amount of fresh mint leaves for a refreshing and flavorful tea. Despite the saltiness this time around, I'd return to try something else, like the fattoush salad with salmon.

The restaurant was clean, ordering was fast, the price was affordable, and there was plenty of seating. Sold! The order also came with a small pita (in sealed plastic). It is essentially a Middle Eastern version of Chipotle. I was happy with the freshness (except the pita) and quality. The only unfortunate part was that the olives were overpowering; I would leave those out in the future. Overall, it's a solid spot for a quick meal, even if it's "nothing to write home about." 3.5 stars. Fun Fact. I didn't realize this is actually a chain until I searched Yelp to find the right one to review. They have 30 locations, all corporate run!
