The second I walked in I felt as if I was home! The smells of all the fresh baked foods as well as all the great aromas coming from the grill were enough to have me back for more. On our vacation we searched for a Shuwarma place and let me say yelp rock. This place should get 6 stars not 5. It's so fresh and friendly and taste like heaven. In town for work and stopped here for dinner. I ordered the hummus salad plate and it was, ok. Eggplant was my favorite part. Pita isn't made in house and he hummus was bland for my taste. I am used to more garlic. This restaurant maybe more Israeli than Greek Mediterranean - which is my guess as to why I didn't enjoy the food. read more

I really didn't expect much... there are LOADS of ___ Pita and Pita ___ storefronts in the area. You walk up to the counter and tell the cook what you want. He gives you a number. Then you sit down until he calls your number. Then you go back and tell him what you want on your sandwich. (I haven't ever been to a place that works like this...) The cook was friendly and chatty as he prepared my sandwich. He also recognized I was a n00b which leads me to believe they get a LOT of repeat business. I got a keftes sandwich with everything. I sat down and took a bite and my head exploded. AMAZING. Like, this is hands down the BEST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER EATEN. The meat was deliciously charred on the outside and had a great smoky flavor, and was perfectly spiced. All the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I stopped chowing and started savoring. I would give this place more than five stars if I could!! We are visiting from vegas and someone was telling us how there is a huge Jewish population where we are staying here! Makes sense with all the kosher, hummus and pita places around! We picked this place cuz it was within walking distance and had the best ratings and it did not disappoint! We walked in and one of the guys making the food asked if we were first timers cuz we were staring at the menu not knowing what to pick! He explain to us what different things were! And I noticed they had gluten free pitas which I was really excited about cuz the sandwiches looked so good and I didn't think I'd be able to have one! He suggested I get the pita on the side cuz gluten free breads will break. So I did that. My boyfriend and I both got the shawarma pita sandwiches (mine gluten free, his regular) and it was AMAZING. I've been coming to Pita Plus it seems forever- I've never been disappointed with the service or the food. Whenever I come in, it is all smiles, and of course, "What would you like?" The place is always clean- it is Glatt Kosher and a separate sink is provided in the front for hand washing- Most recently, every time I mention to someone that I am cooking up baby #2 they inevitably ask me if I have a craving for pickles. Now- I have to say that with my first, all I wanted was grilled cheese or mac n cheese, but this time around, Yes, pickles it is- and not just any pickles- they have to be the sour type that they serve at Pita Plus! Obviously, when at Pita Plus one cannot just eat pickles (they are complimentary with your meal). The first time the pickle craving hit was a Friday afternoon. I had a half day at work, and rushed over to Pita Plus- I really wanted shawarma in a pita, I was so excited - I could even taste the savory meat before I got in the door- I was thwarted by the gentleman behind the counter- he was extremely nice about it, but all the same, I had arrived at the establishment too late on a Friday and all the blocks of meat had been put away. So.. note to self (and everyone else) - If you want shawarma on a Friday, you must come a few hours before closing time - otherwise you will be out of luck - as I was. With shawarma 86 from the menu, I ordered a falafel ( a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both) pita for myself and a grilled chicken pita for the hubs. All of the salads are fresh and delicious. Don't be afraid to add some eggplant into your pita along with the humus and tahini sauce! The hubs likes it spicy- so I always have them put some harif (hot sauce - green chiles or jalapeños with other spices). I took them to go. Both sandwiches were delicious. read more

One thing I love about South Florida is the large selection of Mediterranean restaurants. Pita Plus has been a staple since as long as I can remember. The salads are fresh, and you can have as many pickles and cabbage as you like. The shwarma pita is my favorite sandwich. Occasionally I order the young chicken. They also have plates, which is more of a dinner sized portion, or a meal for two. The last time I was there I ordered the meat plate. It was quite good. There isn't any table service here. You order in line, grab your own seat, and you go back up to get your food when they call out your order, then eat and you clean up after yourself as well. So if the place is very busy then you have to wait holding your food for a place to sit, and this place is often jam packed. It is kosher. So it closes Friday early afternoon. Around 3 pm. read more

Although we walked in strictly going in for a refreshment --while standing in line, our mouths began to water. The smells, the food in your face, being prepared, everything looked great. I looked at him and we both knew we were going to grab a small bite. We had plans to go eat Vietnamese after mini golfing so we decided to split a falafel pita sandwich.
