Stopped by as I was walking to car and they have a best flavors. I sampled the cantaloupe flavor and it was so refreshing and gave me all the summer feels. I also tried the dark chocolate which didn't pair well with the cantaloupe but I would recommend it to someone that prefers less sweet flavors. It was a rich chocolate flavor. Service was good. The line wasn't too long at the time and I was taken care of quickly. There are chairs and tables to eat there. Pitango also has coffee which I've never tried but looked good.

Second time here and ordered the exact same flavors as last time -- Sicilian Pistachio, Hazelnut, and Chocolate Hazelnut. Damn... it was SO good. Gooey, creamy, rich, and super flavorful. At this point, I just have to stop by whenever I'm in Old Town.

I had the Pitango location over at Old Town Alexandria. Around 9:30 pm, there was still a line here. I had their pistachio and their hazelnut gelato. I really enjoyed both! I felt it was actually one of my favorite gelatos I've had!

I love this place! Today I had a Pistachio Affogato. It was so good! I also grabbed a blueberry hibiscus tea to go.

We love this place! Today I had a Pistachio Affogato. It was so good! I also grabbed a blueberry hibiscus tea to go. We would recommend for a quick snack or drink as you walk around Old Town.

When visiting Old Town, you really can't leave without grabbing a drink or dessert -- and this spot immediately caught my eye. I was craving something authentic, not Ben & Jerry's, but real Italian gelato. Food: 4/5 I'm lactose intolerant, so I was happy to see they offered a good mix of dairy-based gelato and dairy-free sorbet options. I got the smallest cup (about $9) which let me pick two flavors. I went with turmeric ginger gelato and stracciatella, and both were absolutely magical. The turmeric ginger was spicy and refreshing while the stracciatella was creamy, dense, and so chocolatey -- proof that a smaller portion can still feel satisfying. My friend ordered the strawberry gelato on a cone, and she loved it. The texture was stretchy and rich in a way that felt true to traditional gelato. But I understand an over $20 price tag is a lot for dessert. Service: 4/5 Quick and friendly. Even when we ordered late in the evening (around 9-10 PM), everything was smooth, and they were patient with us as we sampled flavors. The vibe was good. It wasn't too crowded, which made the experience feel relaxed and unhurried. A sweet little stop while walking through Old Town. All in all, they had an authentic flavor, quality ingredients, and a nice atmosphere. Portions are on the smaller side for the price, but the richness of the gelato makes up for it. Definitely a must-try if you want a real Italian dessert in Old Town.

My favorite gelato shop. Everyone that works here possesses exceptional temperament- the make you feel welcomed in a very low key relaxing way that feels very genuine. The gelato is DELICIOUS and not too sweet. Lots of flavors to choose from. They also offer pastries and I love the almond croissants. My daughter and I often stop by after a walk along the lake - a perfect reward for our exertions. I've been to a lot of gelato shops - I highly recommend this one and will be back again and again and again!

While I appreciate having a place to chill that's open past 9 pm in Old Town Alexandria, I was disappointed to find out more about the business. I will say that the service was not particularly friendly the times that I have gone. The servers were young adults but treated me like I couldn't afford $8 small scoops. Alas, perhaps they are partially correct. Lol. I do prefer a less expensive but equally tasty local ice cream shop such as Dairy Godmother. This is not my scene. Earthy design but lacking comfort or a reason to linger, lots of empty seats. Looking elsewhere.

This is my favorite gelato shop in town and they just opened a location in old town Alexandria. The shop has lots of seating. It's super quiet. Sometimes the workers are out there and other times they're like in the back. You just have to like say something and they'll come right out. They have gelato and sorbet and pastries and coffee. I like this location because it's super convenient to walk down to from the waterfront.

We have been here several times they never disappoint. Try the Affogato it is delicious! The gelato is delicious and the decor and service are great. When in old town Alexandria stop by you wont be disappointed!!

This place stands as THE BEST gelato I have ever had. Wow. I was totally blown away by how thick and creamy it was. I didn't know Gelato could have a "cheesepull" but this gelato did. Each spoonful, the thick goopy goodness wanted to hold itself together and I just insisted on tearing it apart until the whole cup was gone... oopsie! I had two flavors in my cup, and both were just absolutely heavenly. The pistachio was recommended to me by my friends, and they weren't wrong, if you love pistachios... i don't have any idea how this could make you unhappy. The second was a chocolate hazelnut, and somehow, that was even better! This was the one with the stretchy pull to it. The textures, the blend of nutty flavor with smooth chocolate... fantastic. It was really expensive, is maybe the one bad thing I can say about it. But i suppose that's just the way things are in DC. Everything is more expensive there than where I come from, this felt even more so than usual, but would I do it again?? Absolutely.

Very solid gelato and sorbet, you could taste the freshness of the ingredient. I got the pistachio and mango, and both tasted solid, but still can't compare to the actual gelatos I've had in Italy. The price is expensive since they import a lot of the stuff from Italy it seems like, and my large portion was not as big as I thought it should've been. The workers there are very nice and friendly, and there's a good amount of seating inside.

In search of a place to get something sweet, we stumbled across Pitango. I love their set up with the windows as it really catches your eye to want to go in and see what they serve! Now I'm not a fan of gelato but Pitango has changed my mind. I love that based on their website their gelato is made-from-scratch products in house, which you can tell by the taste. We tried a few different options- strawberry & chocolate, raspberry & lemon and also they offer a Lemonade Float (we added banana gelato to it)...! Definitely check them out.

Mojito + Hibiscus & noir. Both very delicious & refreshing! They are pet friendly & it was super clean. The staff was so so nice!

Either way I just found Lily's Chocolate & Coffee while venturing up and down King Street, and well with the help of Yelp because this was a plan to visit later in October. But, I decided my kiddos needed a treat. Located on a corner you walk into hues of pink, florals and the smell of chocolate and coffee. I became immediately distracted by the toppings and melted chocolate. But, when I snapped out of it, I was able to place my order. I opted for the Dubai chocolate inspiration over strawberries. If I remember correctly it was around $20 five or take. The cafe is so cute. It is small and if crowded be prepared to navigate that. There is bathrooms inside but, I do not know if it is for customers or not, as they were locked when we were there. The staff were just starting for the day. But they were helpful, kind and ready to roll. Once we received our order we sat down and dug right in. The strawberries were fresh, large and draped over in chocolate, pistachio cream and katifia. This is not my first time having Dubai chocolate or Dubai inspired chocolate. I thoroughly enjoy it over strawberries. There is just something about chocolate ad strawberries. Overall a wonderful place. I highly recommend visiting
