I was craving a treat after visiting Mount Vernon, and I found Yogurt City on the map. It is your standard frozen yogurt place. They have different sized cups, multiple flavors of frozen yogurt and a bunch of toppings. They have a few machines out, but they still had plenty of frozen yogurt options. I really enjoyed the cake batter and coconut flavors. The place looks a bit dated, it felt like walking into 2013 again. Pretty good self served frozen yogurt/ice cream. The overall ambiance is small and straight to the point. All the ingredients laid out looked fresh and well kept. Furthermore, there are enough ingredients to make tons of combinations but not to get overwhelmed. Not in the best location but not hard to find. Had a taste for yogurt after running some errands one evening. Looked on yelp and was less than a mile from Yogurt City. It was super easy to find and not too busy. I always like a sample before committing to a flavor. The lady behind the counter came out to help me get the samples because the yogurt came out super fast and I she didn't want me to make a mess. The flavors I tried were good and they had a good amount of options for toppings. You pay by the pound and for 2 moderately filled bowls, we paid a little under 6 bucks. This was my first time here. I had the coconut (excellent!) and the strawberry almond milk (ok - it didn't taste like it was made with real strawberries). I added some strawberries (yum!), pineapple (ok), Oreo cookie (yum), Reese peanut butter cup (yum), and some waffle cone pieces (yum! Nice and crispy). They have a rewards program and you can use your phone number. Very easy to use system. The guy behind the counter was really nice (might've been the owner) and the place was clean. Clean, great flavor assortment, good topping selection. It's pretty pricey, though. I do like the different cup sizes - you can basically get anything from a kiddie size to a large, any flavor fro yo you want. I'll definitely return but will probably limit myself to a medium or smaller. read more

Went there a few days ago. It was empty but got packed in less than 5 minutes lady at checkout was kind and wasn't stairing at us while we were going crazy picking toppings we were in and out in less than 15 minutes they have more yogurt flavors than the business that closed down the road ZINGA and Sweet Frog less toppings to choose from but they do have better quality toppings which is good because quality over quantity is always better read more

Great bubble tea and frozen yogurt! I really liked the Zinga in the area which was on Richmond Hwy but it recently closed. I am not a big fan of Sweet Frog so I was disappointed when Zinga closed, and was looking for a new fro yo spot. I recently found Yogurt City and imagine my surprise to find out they not only have fro yo but bubble tea too. They seem to have a wide variety of toppings and a good fro yo selection. I was scared to try this place due to some of the reviews and tips that were written but I was very pleasantly surprised. They have several flavors and I tried about four of them and I liked all of them. They charge 49 cents/oz, which is a bit pricy but hey, they have to make a living. I like it! It's hard to find bubble tea and yogurt on Route 1, plus everything I've had there has been great! I'm a little surprised about the overall 3 star for this place, but maybe I missed something or missed the unhappy customers when I've been in there.? The only time I saw one customer have an attitude to an employee was when one employee was going to use a bubble tea cup to give the customer some water. So politely, one employee asked the other employee to use a different cup and the customer had a little fit--it's like chill, you didn't pay for bubble tea (if the customer would of looked up for two seconds, she would of saw those bubble tea cups have special lids that go with them), she was still getting a glass of water. read more

This place is a lot better than it apparently was. It's clean, employee was friendly, they have all of these different smoothies and really good bubble teas, the variety is fantastic, decor is groovy, and of course, the froyo is bomb. The only thing is the taro froyo was the only one that was not super great in my opinion, (I usually love taro) but it said "tart" on the sign so I suppose I should have expected that. I have not been able to find a bubble tea place in Alexandria so I was super excited to try this. Unfortunately Bubble tea was terrible. Asked for original flavor and not much taste. What taste was there just tastes like a Chalky/powdery artificial tasting plain milk (as opposed to usual black tea flavor) and the tapioca balls must not have been fresh bc they were extra goopy and broke down in the drink. I also sampled their yogurt and was not impressed - also artificial tasting. I will not be back! read more

I decided to give this place another try after being disappointed the first time around which was over a year ago. Got the avocado bubble tea since I'd tried it somewhere else that made it with real avocado, this one was made with avocado 'powder' I took one sip and couldn't drink it, can't comment on the boba since I didn't get past the first sip.
