Since I'm tired of throwing vegetables around my kitchen, I went to Pitman yesterday to purchase a huge mixing bowl for my weekly vegetable roasting duties. The store was amazing! What a selection at great prices! A gentleman by the name of James helped me out, and he was kind enough to offer me a discount while he regaled me with adorable anecdotes about his wife, a committed baker. It's a sad state of affairs that I am always impressed by warmth and helpfulness during customer service interactions, but such is the state of affairs in 2018. America. I love walking up and down every aisle, marveling at the industrial size mixing bowls, baking supplies, ladles, rolling pins - you name it, it's here! Grills, griddles, fryers, cast iron - yep, got it! They also have a selection of bar ware, both the serving glasses and the tools to stock your own bar at home. Even neon signs! Since my dinnerware is white, I often come here to pick up additional serving platters, individual salt bowls, cream pitchers or whatever I need or just want to add to my table scale. Of course they have the large appliances - refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, wine refrigerators, etc. Prices are affordable and you can buy single pieces or bulk. What a flipping difference from Roses? These guys are chipper and helpful! Like they actually want you to shop there. After standing at the register for 5 minutes with 4 guys all sitting around, we walked out of Roses and walked into Pitmans right next door. The same items are cheaper, the store is super well organized, and the guys are awesome! Just tagged along with hubby and it kind of changed my life, restaurant equipment joint open to the public. I had long been in need of a new fresh pepper grinder but still hesitant to drop a bill of a peugeot. Alas, $18 gets you a foot long pepper mill at pitmans! If you need anything else for your kitchen, in which you actually cook in and not just display pretty cookware in, why go anywhere else? Great service & support. When I bought my major appliances for my food cart in May this year, I was told if there was a problem later on, to give them a call. While cooking for a catering event this past week, my Waring Commercial Convection Oven started acting up. The thermostatic safety sensor began tripping & shutting down the oven. I called & spoke directly with Waring support, including the engineering department. It was declared a factory defect. Waring referred me to their repairs & service agent in Beaverton. Like I've got time for that! I called Pitman and spoke with Tim Moore. He listened while I explained the situation, and informed me he would contact Waring. Just a little while later, he called back, confirmed that it was defective & let me know he had a new replacement in stock waiting for me, just bring the original back and they'd swap it out. I got thru my catering event work and then brought the original oven back to Pitman. Good to his word, Tim had the replacement waiting and shortly I was on my way back with a new oven. The only thing that would have made this experience better, and would have been delivery included. read more

I used to shop at Boxer NW a few years ago. Now my go to place is Pitman's because all I have to do is clean up and upgrade a concession stand. New griddles (one used) a new hot plate and gas fryer with miscellaneous tools, etc. My experiences with the staff have been the best part of the process. If they don't have what I need on hand, they order it and drop ship. No extra trips to Portland from Salem. Hard to find but worth the effort! They have a wide selection of equipment, ranging from the pans and spats you buy every year to the mixer you only buy once. The used equipment area is large and always full of stuff you didn't know you needed. As for the staff, they went above and beyond for me. I came looking for a specific part, and after a lot of searching by multiple staff members, they pulled the part off of a floor model. Talk about putting the customer first! Sales people do not communicate...they will step on each other sales....If you wotk with Danny make sure he does what he says he will do...no follow through...then when the sell a item out from under you the manager Kevin will try to up sell you with a huge 5% discount. I worked with Casey (at Pitman) and he provided me with the best service during my search for stainless steel work tables. Being my project is for a residential kitchen, my home, I had spacing requirements and the other companies I spoke with did not take the time or interest in my project. I returned a week later with my contractor and he and Casey worked out the specifics. I was so comfortable with Casey, and Pitman, that I purchased the tables that day. They never were upset with my calling checking on the progress of my order. I can unequivocally recommend Pitman, and do so without hesitation. For the last two months, I've been battling on and off with different restaurant equipment providers to purchase a large fridge and coordinating freezer for our office. When I found someone with the equipment I wanted, they'd charge an arm and a leg for it ... or if they didn't, they'd become completely unresponsive when I asked them to fill out a few pages of paperwork that our headquarters requires. I've worked with Pitmans since I opened a deli in Lincoln City three years ago. By far the best prices and the service is always great. We're just a small operation but we always get our 10% discount off their already low prices. Last summer when our oven went out (we didn't get this from Pitmans) Danny had a new one set up and operational the next day. Also, we had a blender go out. When we went to buy a new one, Danny told us to bring the old one in and he'd have it replaced for free because it was on warranty. We didn't even know it was on warranty. The store isn't much, but the prices and service earn Pitmans five stars. read more

Very disappointed. I Bought a #12 Hobart type meat grinder attachment and when I am grinding the meat I see black stuff coming out from the attachment. I thought it was because it was new, but I still see the same black stuff every time I use it. And they have the policy all sales final, no returns, so I am doomed read more
