I had a Groupon and its like they dont want to honor it but they offer it on Groupon. I had to go through turns and wiggles just for them to honor it. Also I needed an oil change. There was nothing wrong with my car it was just time for an oil change. They rushed me out and I was thinking its cause they had to do the next customer just for me to get about 2 miles away on my way to a party and all my oil poured out leaving me stranded because my oil pan was cracked. How the hell my oil pan cracked like thats crazy and they did my oil change.. Leaving me with a car that cant move and I had to call for a ride that took 3 hours because NY traffic is crazy. Mechanic noticed that my front tires needed to be replaced and showed me the wear and tear when I asked to see it. My tires were replaced at a great price. There is a mechanic that works here that is a money hungry CROOK. I came in to get my oil changed. They put in a defective air filter as shown in the picture because I didn't want to buy a cabin filter(which most places replace with oil change service). It looks like he stomped on it. Then he also barely put oil back into my car, the oil was way below the markline. Thank goodness my father looked at my car after the fact because lord knows what could've happpened. DON'T GO TO PIT STOP on Merrick Blvd and here's why. Women going to mechanic shops. It is no secret that women are often bamboozled when taking their car to a mechanic shop. I know there are some honest mechanics but there are many who are not I took my car to get an oil change to PIT STOP at 120-01 Merrick Boulevard on 04/26/2024. I live near there. I was given a bill for approximately $270 which included the oil change and I also needed a battery. The battery was $235. The next day, I had my mechanic [didn't think to have him change the oil too] take my car to do other major checks like struts, axles and other stuff. My mechanic called me to say PIT STOP just poured oil on top of what was in the car and they had not flushed it and sent me a photo of the oil he took out of my car [photo included.] I called PIT STOP and they said they changed the oil but didn't flush it out. How can you change the oil without flushing it out. LESSON: when you get an oil change ask to have them dip the stick when they are done and show it to you. This place is horrible !Stay away. Got a Groupon for a wheel aligment.Made an appointment and once i drove for 40 min they calceled it ( were too busy)! Refunded Groupon 2 weeks later i changed a rack and needed aligment so i tryed again .This time i called 2 times 8 am and 915 am and both times was told by Mike to come at 10 am. I went to this shop for over 20 years, but never again. I started when the old man owned the shop, then his son and daughter. Now they have become ripoffs since these new people manage. I went in for an inspection and an oil change. I knew I needed one control arm changed but they told me I needed both changed. They gave me a quote of $800. When I came to pick the car up he says its $1025. I told him he quoted me $800.. He says he forgot about the inspection and oil change. An inspection and oil change costs $225? Give me a break. These people are crooks. They tried to charge me extra to get a routine inspection. They told me after they hooked my car up that it wouldn't pass because of small side headlights and to fix the lights would be $85 each. What they failed to tell me is that I passed the "electronical" part of the inspection. I realized I was being "had", took it to another place. So i come here looking to get some work done..a simple exchange of fluids, ( phone quote price $90 when i arrive the mechanic tells me it'll cost $180 because i have a BMW & it requires special fluid. Draining fluid in a car is opening the drain valve....so i bought the fluid myself 2 for $30 & opening the drain valve took all of 80 seconds. Such a great experience! My husband and I came in from out of town, visiting family. We bought a groupon for a full synthetic oil change. We called ahead and mike (the owner) said there was no line. I just pulled up, handed my keys. They have a nice and warm waiting area, unlike other auto places that have you waiting in squalor. I've sat on overturned buckets before. The mechanic notified me that we would have to change the transmission fluid in our car. But they didn't pressure me to change it there or anything. In fact I was kind of confused about the whole process because I am not good with cars and they explained the situation and didn't push me to get it done. I actually had to ask them if I could do it there. Very non-aggressive. Also the owner Mike was so professional and courteous - keeping me updated on my car and answering whatever I had questions about. Anyways afterwards we had a three hour drive back and didn't have a problem at all with our car. Would recommend. Nothing short of excellent service. As expected, my car was taken care of extremely quickly. I Phoned to make sure there was no wait and there wasn't a bit; pulled my car right in and these folks politely and efficiently changed my oil and filter. And, even better, they diagnosed a pressing problem with my suspension. Did they pressure me to fix it there and right then? Horrible the most horrible place ever , filled with negligence, I didn't realize until a month after how much damage they have costed me from a simple oil change I went for a synthetic oil change on a 2016 Ford Focus SE , which they probably did change but a month after I realized how their small negligence costed me so much issue , the left the cap off after changing the oil basically was just left on top of the engine ! Just a small mistake I know but all the oil spilled up ! And got all over the engine and I wasn't even aware until I saw the check light engine because I regularly maintain my car basically they rushed so much forgotten to do simple thing that's costing me messy issues ! I even thanked and tipped the mechanic, thinking he did it so quick and fast but dam it was the worst oil change I ever gotten simply cause they didn't close the cap and now all those oil spilled out. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They don't even deserve 1 star. First things first the people that work here AND the owner are probably the worst set of people I have ever met in my life. They have no type of customer service or professionalism whatsoever. I also shouldn't be saying this but every single person that works there is a crook. The mechanics that work there aren't even real mechanics!!! I've seen it myself. I brought my car here for the first time in June 2022 to get my coolant filter replaced because there was a small " leak" They called me back a week later telling me I can pick up my car. I go get my car back and immediately I knew something was off. My car wasn't starting the same as to when I first dropped it off. It was so shaky and not feeling right that I knew Something wasn't right. they told me that everything will be fine and that it will start running like how it used to later that day. Which made no sense but hey.. fast forward.. I leave the shop and literally not even 20 minutes pass and my car BROKE DOWN!!!! I was so confused because this never happened to me before and it wasn't running like this before I dropped it off to their shop. I had to end up getting my car towed. while I'm getting my car towed the person who is putting my car on the tow truck tells me that there's pipes missing from underneath my car that's why it smelled like so much gas. so all the oil / gas ended up coming out from underneath my car!! he said im lucky that my car didn't catch fire! I had to get it towed back to the shop because there is no way that I'm letting them slide with this mistake .. I really did not want to take it back there but I had no choice because I already paid so much money just to get it fixed the first time. they then tell me that I'm going to have to wait so they can see what the problem is as to why it broke down . like how do you not know!?? you people worked on my car. it gets worse.. i called my dad to take a look at the car and he tells me that my tire sensors are MISSING!!! Not only that they also stole the spare key I had to my car!!! you don't even understand how I felt in that moment .. i was so furious. I have so many stories for this place I just can't tell it all. I really don't know how they're still up and running it makes no sense to me. Every review is bad on here it just shows the type of people they are. This is the place to never ever take your vehicle because the customer service is really really bad. The guys there are very disrespectful and does nothing to help especially if you are a woman. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I took my vehicle for servicing and when I went back to pick up my car they lost my car keys and thankfully I had a second key for them to make a copy from. They told me in writing that they would compensate me for taking an Uber round trip to get my keys from home for them to copy and when the time came they never honor the agreement. They said because they had to pay to make a copy of the key that they lost that they should not have to keep their agreement and to top it off the new key doesn't work after a week. I have been trying to reach the owner of that location on Merrick Blvd and have been told he only comes in on Saturdays and when I call he is never there, then I'm been told he is out of the country. I used vouch for this place. I really did. Quick and friendly usually and seeming good work, but that means nothing if your customer service is not where it should be as a business. I bought tires from them in November 2014, which ended up having bubbles by January, which makes them a safety hazard. I was told that they would be bridgstone tires and so when they were put in, i assumed that they were just that. I didn't bother to check because I have been here so many times and trusted them. Come to find out today when I ask Rudy (the manager) to find a way to accomodate me for newly purchased tires that they are not even bridgestone. He claims his manufacturer doesn't even carry them so they couldn't have come from them. WHAT? I have not been anywhere else dude but to your shop, where else could they have come from? He refused to acknowledge that it was a mistake on their end and refused to even try to chuck the loss because of the mistake. Its funny how he went from saying that he offers customers cheaper options in tires which is why the tires are different (mind you, I'm an anal person, i would have never approved cheaper tires. if i have 2 bridgestones already, best believe that I will order the same ones regardless of cost) to saying his manufactuer doesn't carry them. which is it? you offered me the cheaper tires or no? because that is what you said at the beginning of the conversation. Seems like some shady business going on here and if you feel okay with me leaving your shop feeling ripped off, then i don't need to give you any more of my business and every person that i have referred there will be told to cross them off their places to go, cause this is not it. So at this point its not about the bubbles not being covered by a manufacturer's warranty, its about you not giving me the tires your paperwork clearly says you ordered and compensating for it so i don't have to go spend another 200-400 dollars in less than 1 freakin year. After 30 minutes of back and forth, I walked out livid! That tells me he has no integrity what so ever. i refuse to do business and give people my hard earned money for service that lacks integrity. It would have been one star, but because i was continuously going to them prior to that, i gave them 2 stars. This business will lose out more over for every person they have ripped off. Instead Rudy (his name serves him perfect, the dude is rude) the manager will tell you it's your fault for buying the deal and now it's your problem to get your money back. This is the worst mechanic establishment I have ever been to. I had an alignment done 2 months ago, but my vehicle starting pulling to one side. I decided to take it in so they could check it. Alignment comes with 6 month warranty, at least so I was told. They took my car for 15 minutes and it was placed on the lift and returned to me. I was then told I had a to pay a bill of $79 plus tax. I asked for an before and after print out of the alignment and I was told the machine wasn't working to print it. Then owner got very defen and nasty, because I asked what they did and why I have to pay again. He even said he would keep my vehicle if I didn't pay the bill and charge me storage fees. He was verbally abusive and so rude. I would never recommend anyone to this establishment. read more

Every place prior was dismissive or just flat out rude. When I got here Rudy calmly explained what I needed to do, I came back and was treated well and the guys quickly did my inspection. I was told at another place that I needed new rear breaks and that I was driving on nothing I was quoted about 400 and because I didn't have it at the time I didn't get it fixed. I went for an oil change on April 30th and I notice my car not running properly shortly after I go to my mechanic and the oil change guy forgot to put my oil cap back on the engine causing the oil to spill everywhere and destroying my Acura RL. Now I'm stuck with an extensive bill and the manager from pit stop refuses to acknowledge that it's their fault. He was rude and was not letting me speak and kept passing blame on me for not check under my hood right after the oil change! Who checks under their hood after an oil change?! I have taken my 2 vehicles to Pit Stop Lube & Tune for the last 6 years, everyone that works there go out of their way to to make sure u feel right at home while u wait. They replaced the struts on my 1999 Buick Century @ 1/2 the price of what Buick dealer wanted. They also do my regular oil changes n inspections for my 2010 Nissan Maxima.
