I ordered an aftermarket exhaust system that needed to be installed. With all of the auto shops in the area, it was hard to know who would do a good job for a fair price. As a woman, it's also hard to go to the mechanic without being talked down to or getting completely ripped off. However, I've gone to Queens Care Auto Repair in the past for an inspection, so I decided to see if they could do the install. Dalton made it happen! Great communication and a great sounding/performing exhaust!! I also needed another inspection (didn't realize it had been a year already), so he took care of it. After needing to do the inspection on my Hyundai 2003, in which had expired back in April. I went on Yelp to see if I'd find a real good inspection station as well as a worthy, trusting, honest, reasonable & dependable mechanic for once. I decided to stop by Queens Care Repair after reading all the reviews. So the next day I stopped by & was approached by Dalton Jr., who took me to his father. I explained the purpose of my visit. Although, he had several cars being worked on. He immediately did my inspection & told me my back left break pads were low & needed to be replaced. I brought back my Hyundai the next day & it turned out that not only did I needed to replace both my brake pads but, I had a leak on the left side as well, the caliber needed to be replaced. To make a long story short. I had both break pads to the rear, the cabilar, both break lines replaced. I was really impressed on how reasonsable the cost of the repairs came out to. I've never come across such a honest, reasonable, trustworthy person as Dalton. He really knows his stuff. He's Totally Awesome, along with his son Dalton Jr, & Ruben his mechanic. He explains to you throughly what's the problem, what's not a safety issue & if it could wait & most important he literally shows you the problem before quoting you & making the repair. I'm so happy that I now have not only an experienced mechanic but a mechanic who didn't take me for a ride or beat me upside my head with high repair cost because now a days they out there waiting like vultures. My daughter was having problems with her car and I decided to call this place for inquiries. Spoke with Dalton, who was very professional and polite, but in spite of his politeness and professionalism he still ended up trying to scam my daughter. First off he never mentioned the $75.00 diagnostics fee until my daughter arrived. I called him back and we got that squared away, I informed him that for future potential customers, to please divulge that sort of information up front. After checking the car out, come to find out she needed an air conditioned compressor. Yes we all know how expensive air conditioned compressors can get, but as a mechanic they have special rates and deals. So he called; maybe a couple of places and came up with a quote of $700.00 (price gouging) which would have included the parts and labor, being that this amount was out of my daughter's budget, she decided to take the car somewhere else. She took it to another mechanic in the area, who just so happened to call the same parts store as Dalton, and who also had the conversation on speaker phone. The person with whom this other mechanic spoke with stated that someone just called regarding this car, and that they were shopping around trying to get a good price, he then stated that the price of the compressor would be $125.00, wow; big difference. But this mechanic called another store and is now able to get it for $100.00 and will install it for $100.00 which in turn saved her a whopping $500.00. That is just wrong, not to take away from his professionalism though, but what's professionalism when you have no morals....treat others the way you would like to be treated Dalton, take that professionalism and politeness and apply it to your business ethics and watch how your business grow.
