First of all this was held at the beautiful Hartland Music Hall which is just off Avon Street in…read moredowntown Hartland. It's a beautiful building. Old and quite ornate. It's also has a good size seating capacity. It has a Center seating section, with additional seating sections on each side. There was also a small balcony. There are Covid precautions in place and masks are required to be worn at this juncture. The actors and actresses were all members of the community. Quite honestly they were superb. The play was Steel Magnolia's. This story was rolled out and brought out all the emotions that we have-at different times during the play. My nephew was actually the one that told me about the play and when I found out he was interested in going I thought it would be a great opportunity for both of us! There were small breaks between Acts and an intermission halfway through the production. Cookies, water and other small items were available for purchase. Any food and beverage had to be ingested up where it was sold so as to preserve the beauty of the auditorium. I wondered how they were going to do "Steel Magnolia's" as I saw the movie years ago and knew the sad outcome. The way they modified the play encompassed the spirit of the situation without having a death bed scene. I found myself crying anyway. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed the production and we have every intention of returning in the near future! "Bravo", "Encore".. Hartland City Players- thank you for such an enjoyable evening!!

Heard good things over the years but due to a long drive never gave it much consideration. That is…read moreuntil last night, the Toby Kieth Tribute Band. Well, the bride (37years strong) and myself have always been fans and have attended a few concerts in our day, lets make a date night and go for it. The reservation process was smooth and flawless. We arrived early, hours before, to check out some stores and have dinner at Sweetwater for the best pizza pie ever (different review). Then on to the show. Once inside, we were sitted in some of the most comfortable chairs ever for the next two hours. Small tables conveniently to put ones drinks down on. Total seating capacity is under 300 so this was going to be up close and personal, and it was Both the Toby Kieth that played last night and the Village Theatre get the highest marks. This is one great place to go and wish I had not worried about the drive (1 hour and 10 minutes) to go here. Not only will we coming back here, we love Lexington, I may apply for a volunteer job here too.

My buddy got tickets for Ted Nugent and I have to say, what a horribly staffed venue. Looks like…read morethey oversold. We had general audience standing tickets. $145 and an hour drive later we enter the doors. The standing area is a chained off section that was overflowing with how crowded it was. So we stood off to the side. Got yelled at that we have to be in the chains so we walked to the other side. Same problem, different staff member. We try to enter the chain area and no one is letting us in. Again it is shoulder to shoulder, tip to butt packed. The staff member comes over and says hey you have to be in the chains. So we shuffle in closer and one guy moves over as much as he can. Staff member comes back again. So we are now physically touching shoulders with eachother and a random stranger next to me. Guess what? Staff member comes back over and says my buddy has to get in more.... Instead of making a scene, we just left. What a waste of time and money. How do you oversell your standing area and then expect everyone to fit, and then scold your guests for not being able to fit? This was my first time here as a normal patron and not with a band. Safe to say, the very last time I will be here for any reason at all. F this place.
