I am a very unhappy client and I do NOT recommend using Pixel Designz.* I was referred to Brent and Pixel Designz by two long time friends. I paid Brent $860, in advance, to complete a Wordpress theme website with Credit Card checkout. After 6 months of aggravation and frustration and dozens of excuses later, Brent did not complete the project. All the design work including logos, banners, product images, and site layout had already been completed by a different designer. Since all the heavy lifting was done, I expected Brent to finish the Wordpress theme and checkout within a week, or so. Time and time again I gave Brent the benefit of the doubt (he was referred through friends) thinking he would pull through as he promised again and again to do and then he eventually stopped returning my messages. At this point I started to get that pit at the bottom of my stomach that I had been taken advantage of and felt foolish for trusting him and paying him in advance. I reluctantly and embarrassedly asked my two friends to get involved and help me either with a refund or to get Brent to start communicating with me again. I had invested $860 (including $160 for one year of hosting, paid to Brent) and 6 months of my time. At this point, I would have accepted a complete and working website and just chalk it up as a big misunderstanding. Brent was unwilling to discuss a refund or ways to complete the website. He did suggest that I have another web designer complete the site. When I asked for access to his server for the project files so the new designer could have a starting off point he emailed me back saying "I wanted to work this out nicely and let you walk away," but that he had a "change of heart." Brent's entire email message (which he also sent to our friends) was angry in tone, full of personal attacks, claiming I had failed to pay people that have worked for me in the past (untrue and false), and accused me of being dishonest (how so?), and that I expected him to work for free (really?). Again, I paid $860 in advance including a years hosting and in the end have nothing to show for it. Nothing! I had to pay another designer to start from scratch. I'm the customer! I trusted and paid Brent to complete a project and ended up feeling ignored, misled, and then to top it off insulted in front of my friends. One friend tried to sort out the dispute and wrote us saying, "Something went wrong here and it's confusing as hell to me." He said Brent would return the $160 hosting fee, which he never did. As for the website Brent claimed it was not only finished but completed to the terms we had agreed upon. He never wrote or called to tell me the website was finished, because it never was! He only started in with that excuse after I got our friends involved. In my opinion he was dishonest in presenting his side to our friends because he was trying to save face. I have 12 different emails from Brent stating he is working on the project (including one a week before I asked for the refund), when it turns out he obviously wasn't. To keep the review as "fair and balanced" as possible. Our other friend wrote me an email basically telling me to screw off! This was quite a shock. I guess knowing someone for almost 20 years doesn't mean as much as it used to. He is close friends with Brent and instead of trying to find a compromise he took the easy way out. Granted, it is a little hard to see the truth when Brent, in my opinion, was bullying me over email while simultaneously playing the victim to our friends. When I initially asked for a refund Brent wrote me saying he, "rarely gets in disputes with his clients." Warning: If you do get in a dispute with Brent, good luck in collecting a refund or even contacting him (if he chooses to ignore you like he ignored me) his contact number is an untraceable Google Voice number and his business address, posted as the contact information on his website (and above) is no longer accurate or incomplete. My letter sent via Registered mail asking for a refund was marked "return to sender. " Brent is a smart guy, and in my opinion, he would be best served by doing the work he agreed upon instead of twisting words and emails around to cover his mistakes, playing games like having "a change of heart," being untruthful or at least not telling the complete truth, ignoring clients and problems alike, and finding the easy and sleazy way out of his disputes. These are my personal opinions. In closing I have one final opinion. In his last email he wrote me he said he would not be giving me a refund because, "I have a family to feed." Hopefully, his family will read this review and have a better understanding of what he does to keep them fed. *I am a real person and I have expressed my real opinion of what it was like working with Brent. A friend of mine made a website for me last year and has gotten so busy that he was unable to add anything to it for me. It was made in Flash, which cannot be viewed on iPhones and iPads, which as another reason that I needed to find someone else to help me. A friend of mine told me to contact Brent with Pixel Designz. I discussed what I had and what I wanted. He told me that my best bet would be to purchase a wordpress theme. After searching many many themes I found one that I liked and I gave Brent all of my assets and how I wanted it to look. Brent added everything and even customized parts of the the theme to fit more of my needs.
