Pros: many! Wonderful staff, exceptional grooming, fair prices, adorable and clean facility. Cons: strict cancel/ no show policy that they enforce. I missed my grooming appointment recently due to my hectic schedule, which is completely on me. I felt terrible and understand the inconvenience this causes a business. The groomer didn't receive their tip or commission. I paid the no show fee of $90 for my 2 dogs. My future appointments were cancelled due to a previous appointment where I was late. The groomers do a wonderful job and the staff is very kind. I'm disappointed to not bring my pups there because they are great groomers and patient with my timid dogs. I was surprised at the outcome and regret that I wasn't provided the opportunity to continue bringing my business here. I recommend them as a groomer. If you have a hectic schedule or time management challenges, be aware they enforce their late and no show policy. Again, my fault for the no show, but I'm a paying and faithful customer. Outside of my time management, I'm also a kind and reasonable person. I thought paying the no show fee and "hey next time, we'll ask that you don't come back." Would have been more appropriate course of action, but that conversation didn't take place. I was told these conversations are difficult to have when I was cancelled. Well my suggestion is don't have them at all. Enforce your no show fees and let the customer decide if they want to continue to do business with you. I agree with the other customer that this business model isn't a good one. read more

I am shocked and super disappointed by the complete lack of customer service and care for my dog. I had an appointment to get our dog groomed. This would have been our 4th time here. My appointment time was incorrect in my Google calendar according to the owner. It was off an hour and believe it probably was the phone updating to the daylight savings change. We don't change here in AZ but I think my phone may have changed the time. Regardless I got there thinking I was 15 minutes early and was met at the door of Pixie Sticks Boutique by the owner. He began to tell me I will not be able to have my dog groomed because I didn't show up for my appointment. I explained I was here and showed him my phone with the calendar and time. He became loud and rude to me and embarrassed me in front of other people in the store. He did not suggest we reschedule or talk privately. Instead, he told me I needed to pay for the service I did not get and that, as a favor to me, he would split the bill because his groomer works on commission and she missed out on the opportunity to make money. He also told me I needed to do the right thing and pay. I told him I wasn't intentionally trying to not allow her to make money. At this point, my dog began to shake nervously due to the owners tone. I told him I wasn't going to pay for a service I didn't receive. He continued to bully me; making me feel obligated to pay the half. I told him I would not come back again and he, without hesitation, told me he will remove me from their system and that I should follow him to pay for the service I didn't get. I was so taken aback by the lack of consideration, customer service, and kindness. I like to write reviews to encourage good experiences. But this is something people should be warned of. I also see he has other complaints on other ratings platforms including the BBB. It's a cute, over priced boutique that is apparently not about the customers at all. It is clear that their only concern is about the money. If he treats enough people this way he may be out of a business. BE AWARE! read more

Bad experience here. Scheduled a full groom for the first time here for my dog and very disappointed with the service. After dropping my dog off I got a text an hour later saying my dog was done. Upon arriving I was told that my dog was unable to be groomed but was given a bath instead while still charging me for said service. Never has any groomer refused or claimed my dogs behavior was anything but appropriate for grooming. Not sure what the real problem was but will not be retuning after this experience. read more

They're very attentive and easy to communicate with. Shay the groomer did a great job on my boy. The place is super cute, clean and located in a great area. Here are some of the things I find that justify the grooming prices compared to a less expensive franchise pet store: 1. It's a very quick turn around time so that means your pet isn't locked in a cage waiting for their service. 2. My pooch can get a bit anxious during the grooming process but Shay was incredibly kind, patient and sensitive that Liberty (and myself!) needed a little extra TLC to feel comfortable and safe. Went here with my Frenchie Poke to buy a new dog harness. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Poke gets a little nervous in unfamiliar places and they were very understanding of her. They were nice enough to see my dog still for a trim which i appreciated after some confusion and a hectic morning for myself, however the lady cutting my dogs nails seemed a bit bothered to do them. I typically take my dog to pet planet in Tempe, where the woman does my dogs nails all on her own, and even helps me when she has a broken nail. The woman here told me she couldn't help me with her broken nail, and then she couldn't handle how squirmy my dog became. She came out and told me she couldn't get one nail because my dog wouldn't let her touch it, however again at pet planet they usually get it done. Maybe more training is needed and also more patience as not all dogs will be still. I definitely recommend pet planet in Tempe if you guys need nail trimming as their customer service is much greater and their ability is as well. Just an overall not so great experience here and the hesitation to do so was a bit weird. read more

The man who owns Pixie Sticks Dog Boutique isn't very nice or accommodating. My wife was in surgery the day of our 1st appointment for our golden doodle to get a bath, so I brought him in. I didn't realize we needed to bring our pet's shot records so they said we'd have to reschedule, understandable. We had already booked both our first and second appointment so we just planned to come back in a week and a half for the next one. We received a text late afternoon yesterday from Pixie Sticks asking if we wanted an 8am apt the next morning instead of waiting a week. I was running a few minute late and I received a text at 8:05am asking if we're on our way and I responded yes. We arrived at 8:07am with my golden doodle to have bath and I received a call from the owner and he said, "Don't bother coming in today. This seems to be a trend with you and I'm going to go ahead and cancel both your appointments, and so good luck to you and your pet, bye." I am still blown away. We walk the shops there almost weekly with our kids and pet. We live around the corner. We've spent a lot of money in their boutique. I've never been treated that way at a pet groomer, fired over the phone as a first time customer. A friend of mine said they were fired too. This was a bummer. I hope others aren't experiencing this as a first time customer. I was late, but I mean I was there and they had just texted asking if we were on the way. read more

I have gone to the same groomer for 5 years. I recently moved, and needed to find a groomer that wasn't 30+ min away. I was nervous about my dog's appointment. New place for both of us! However I immediately just felt welcomed and like my dog was important. The store itself is adorable and reasonably priced. My dog's grooming appointment is on par price wise with what I scoped out with other places. He was sent home with a good quality bandana. He smells soooo good. They were able to work with me on booking out appointments. I feel so relieved I have found a new groomer that makes both of us feel good! I love that they do a before and after photo as well. They asked for a review, so here you go. My boyfriend brought my dogs in with a multitude of pictures showing how we wanted their haircuts. I get pictures later on showing something very different than what was asked. As I was still at work, my boyfriend contacted Pixie and let them know the cuts were not as asked. They then told him they would call me to get more details on how to fix it. That never happened. I get a text at 4:15 pm saying my dogs were done and within 30 minutes I'm getting some feisty phone call about needing to tell them I'm on my way to get my dogs, after my boyfriend had already communicated with them as to when he would get there to which they said would be okay. Upon his arrival, they gave him crap about a time limit on picking up the dogs and their haircuts looked trash to boot. Pics attached of the sloppy, uneven cut of one of my Shih Tzu's. For $75, this service and quality of work is unacceptable. I wanted to give this place a shot as it's new and local, but there are much better groomers in the valley. this place is a 0/10. First to start with the store can barely fit 5 people inside of it. everything is severely overpriced as well. The owner jodelee? Has no idea about dog behavior either i told her my dog does not like to be pet by strangers but you are more then welcome to give her a treat. She then proceeds to give my dog a treat but then stick her face in my dogs face and proceeds to start kissing her! finally the grooming i was running late told them i was running late had a accident happen in the family and couldn't make it to the appointment. They texted me about my future appointments ( for my other dog) as i was dealing with this family emergency they cancelled all my future appointments in less then 24 hours after sending that text message.
