Man this place used to the best place to go growing up. Ever since they changed locations their service is HORRIBLE and their prices are outrageous. Getting through the phone is difficult... expect a "voicemail not set up" when you call. Maybe you'll get through on the 30th try? (I did) I placed my order and at the end I was told that there wouldn't be enough chips for my entire order because there were only three bags left... the bags I got were sandwich bags filled with crumbs of potato chips. I just paid $75 for 4 subs without lettuce or tomato, ITALIAN subs with shredded cheddar cheese and lasagna that looks like something out of a chef boyardee can. YUM! read more

It's prices are too expensive. $14 for take-out spaghetti, $18 for take-out lasagna. It has no dining room. No number to call and place the order. You have to go up to the window and bang on it. Then wait 5 minutes for the lady to come and take you order. She charges you right off, Then you have to go circle around for 20 minutes. I like Robert, the owner. I went again, against my better judgement and had at $14.50 plate of shrimp scampi. It took 45 minutes to make and she put it on top of other plates in the to go bag so guess what? The butter sauce spilled all over the other boxes. Yum, right? Not even close. The noodles were mushy and the lunch were DROWNING in butter. How much did they use???? Expensive Nasty tasting food I've ever tried to eat! I don't recommend this place at all unless you want to waste your money

I came here for lunch based off the recommendation of a friend who used to frequent here over 15 years ago. It was amazing! Like all the reviews say, the decor is trashy and old, but clean. My coworker and I each ordered the daily special, which was a half sub, salad, and iced tea for $6. The salad wasn't anything special, just iceberg lettuce with some toppings. The sub, though, was phenomenal. I ordered ham with pepper jack cheese. The half was huge and it was served warm, with the cheese melted. Onions and a pickle came on the side. The ham wasn't your regular packaged ham, it looked like deli sliced ham. The bun was not your typical sub bun, but a toasted focaccia-type bun. I honestly don't know what made it so good, but it was. They had other things besides sandwiches too, but the long list of sandwich options should tell you which way to swing. Items are made to order so when ordering lasagna etc. it's best to call ahead,and to ask if any menu items have already been 86'd for the day. This place is mom and pop business. The dough is homemade and makes for good pizzas and garlic bread. I live in Austin but have been going to this restaurant for about 27 years. The place is no frills and if you go to the bathroom you might be grossed out that is what some friends have mentioned. Regarding the food pretty much is good. It is not gourmet but I guess I would describe it as hearty. The dough for the pizza, garlic bread, and sandwich makes them very good. The garlic bread is great. The same bread is used for the sandwiches which make them very good as well. Regarding the pizza, the crust is great although the tomato sauce used does not seem to be of high quality. They have a chef salad that is a plain jane salad but with everything they throw in is a guilty pleasure. The other entrees are good and seem to be fairly large portions. This is one of those places you come in with the mentality of it's either a hit or miss. But after you see all the reviews you decide to give it a try. It's no wonder why the locals love this place the food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced for the huge portions (you won't go hungry). This is the type of place you would expect to find in a big city not a small town like Pearsall. It may not be the prettiest or cleanest looking restaurant ever but once you try their food you wouldn't change thing. Everything on the menu from the sandwiches, pasta, salad and pizza are delicious. Not to mention probably the best sweet tea in all of Frio County if not South Texas! Its ok. The place is a hole in the wall and everything is very dingy. It did not seem clean, but I had already called in my order and hoped the oven killed any germs. The pizza was above average, but not great. The main reason for such a low rating is the staff are not friendly at all. They stair at you when you walk in like you are intruding. First of all, ignore the condition of the building - options for housing a business are limited in Pearsall and it in no way reflects upon the cleanliness of the kitchen. They get rushed at lunch, so plan ahead for that because it's worth the wait! What to concentrate on is that it's family-run with all homemade ingredients, including many of the salad dressings. Their pizza bread (homemade sub sandwich bread with pizza toppings) is my all-time favorite! Plus you can't beat the price and iced tea refills :) Be nice to the staff and they'll take good care of you. read more

The food is delicious!!! I sampled a crawfish po boy my friend had and it was amazing. Lots of fried crawfish melted cheese and some mild remoulade! I had a touch of food envy. I ordered a small pizza which, in any other place, might be considered a large. Big chunks of Italian sausage and slivers of sauteed onions and green bell peppers and lots of melted cheesy goodness. The crust wasn't very thick but not crispy, the way I like it. So the food is a definite win! The actual restaurant, not so much. The place isn't very large; it has about 7 or 8 tables with those retro black and white tablecloths. Looks pretty dingy, red walls and some unpainted areas. By no means is this a fine dining establishment. There's one lady who seems to take orders and wait the tables though it isn't exactly table service. You order at the counter and she brings your food to you. Be prepared to wait! So go early, about 30-40 min before you want to eat. I think her standard answer is a 35 min wait but it was closer to 45-50. Some suggested calling ahead while others said they're not good about answering the phone. The service wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to rave about. The lady was polite but not super nice. Obviously, this place is five stars as indicated above. We found Pizz-A-Gettis (hereafter referred to as Dirty Bob's per Jazzy J) on yelp and were not disappointed. The place MAY smell like rats, but they make up for it with grade A+ pizza and hot salad. The only complaint that our group has is that they do not serve any type of spaghetti on top of any pizzas. That may be a special request that we didn't try, but there wasn't any spaghetti pizza on the menu. Dirty Bob's is a super tasty place. None of us got sick. The pizza was super jammin' and an awesome price. If I'm ever back in Pearsall, I will definitely (maybe) come back. Also, while we were there we watched Taken staring Leam Neeson super loud. I have been here's few times now and I am always satisfied when I finish my meal. This place rivals most "good" pizza places in large cities. It for sure beats delivery pizza without a blink of an eye. The sauce is robust and full of flavor, they only have one specialty pizza. Tonight I had the buffalo wings which were really good. They are baked, were really big and extremely tender. Their wings are better than most places that specialize buffalo wings. Locals call this place Dirty Bobs for a reason, no joke. Aside from that I enjoyed their subs at one time.
