I work at Grand Park in DTLA and every Tues-Thurs there are 3-4 food trucks there during lunch. I have eaten my FAIR share of food trucks. I would prolly give every food truck a 3.. possibly a 4 if they somehow impress me. I am not a fan..... until I stumbled upon Pizza & Co. Wow. Probably the best food truck I've ever gotten food from. Amazing Pizza. They gave me the wrong pizza (I ordered a Margherita pizza and they gave me a pepperoni. I didn't complain because instead of a large they gave me two mediums) and I still loved it. Perfect, thin, crispy, wood-fire oven in the trailer, ah this pizza was awesome. It was like being taken back to Italy. These guys are true Italians. I will keep my eye out for this truck from now on. read more

Just when I thought it didn't get any better in the food truck lot by my place in Westwood, here comes the Pizza and Co truck. I've seen pizza, I've seen pizza trucks even, but I don't recall finding a pizza truck that boasts a wood-fired oven, ingredients from Italy, a baby-basil plant at the counter for garnish, and three Italians in the kitchen. Dinnertime just got real for this guy. This place has anything you want for an authentic european-style pie. Two sizes are available, and a myriad of quality vegetable, cheese, and meat toppings make these pies ripe for customization to your taste. I like the variety in the range of the cured meats. There's a lot of culinary potential here. This being my first time, I went simple. I just went with the Verde pizza. It had an arugula pesto sauce that I have never tasted before, freshly shaved parmesan cheese, and a hefty serving of "OH MY GOD THIS IS DELICIOUS". The pie was ready in about 4 minutes from the time I ordered. Awesome for a fresh and fast pizza fix. So on to the pie... Crust was perfect. Slightly blackened in spots from the wood-fire treatment on the bottom, but not burned. Thinner crust of course as is the European pizza custom. A little crispy at first bite, but immediately that chewy texture that carries the flavor of the toppings all over the palate. Make no mistake ladies and gentlemen the crust is where this place shines. The toppings are what toppings should be, accents to the crust. And each one was perfectly portioned and arranged on each slice so you could enjoy them. There was no "oil slick" effect that made me want to reach for the nearest roll of paper towels to soak it up. My toppings: Sausage, Parmesan cheese, and of course freshly torn basil. The sausage was meaty and not overly greasy or chewy. The parmesan was put on AFTER that beauty came from the over (as it should be!) and between both ingredients, gave me just enough saltiness to crave a good beer or red wine, but by no means was overpowering at all. The basil I pulled off the plant myself, and it don't get any fresher than that. A quick shake from the oregano, and a splash of the garlic and rosemary olive oil and I was right back in Italy Pricewise, this place is a value for the quality of the food. Drop 10-12 bucks and you've got a real treat and piece of food art on your hands and tongue. They'll stack as many toppings as you want, but my first and best tip for you all is this: keep it to a good base pie as a first choice, then add on one or maybe two toppings at the most, and that's all you'd need, aside from a second pizza! A quick word on the staff: They are very excited about what they do, and are more than happy to show off when they make your pie. they showed mine to me on the pizza peel before it went into the wood-fired inferno! We spoke a little in Italian, and talked about ingredients and quality, and what it takes to get a really great pie. Very nice, friendly, and passionate for their culinary art. Will I return? I've already put pizza money in my wallet for next time they are in my neighborhood. I give this truck and the pizzas that come from it a rare and well-deserved no-reservations "5 stars". This truck was in the parking lot of Santa Monica Brew Co. Great location cause pizza and beer just go well together. So we decided to test it out since we were hungry and having some brews. Also, this was the closest food option around. You basically pick a base for about $10, then add toppings for $2 each. A little pricey, but its artisan brick oven pizza in a truck, so I guess thats justifiable. We got 2 pizzas. 1. Bianca with pepperoni: This was the fave. Great crust. Tasty cheese. Perfectly fired. 2. Meat lovers: This was a special on one of their signs. They guy said it was basically a Margherita base with pepperoni, sausage, and ham. So you save a buck. This one wasn't that great though. Too saucy so all the toppings just slid off the pizza and the crust was soggy. Decent ingredients but just not put together well. Overall, decent pizza. Nothing really mind-blowing IMO. Nice that its mobile and can be onsite. read more

Wood fire pizza from a truck??? Only if it this one. I am from NY/NJ and so I am an admitted pizza snob. The pies here are outstanding. Roberto is as nice as can be and a consummate professional... and the food is delicious. I had the Margherita... and I love all the fix ins they have from oregano and chili pepper flakes to really delicious oils. But my favorite pie... at least for now... is the Bianca with Italian sausage added to it... I would suggest asking for it a little crispier... but oh man... I can still taste it... So good!!! I'm tough to please when it comes to pizza. Had a serious relationship with an Italian guy whose family grew their own vegetables in the backyard, best friend from college was from Sardinia, and I'm from New York. When I first moved to LA, I was frustrated with finding a good coffee spot and pizza. After a year I found my go to espresso spot but not so much luck with pizza until I had Pizza & Co's. Roberto is such a nice, fun person. If you're having a bad day, go get a pizza from him and not only the best pizza you could have but his smile will make your day. Came here recently (Food Truck) lane a block away from my work... I think I got the Rosso... delicious thin crust pizza!!! Flavorful... loads of topping (mushroom and spinach for me) and the crust was able to hold all of them... it was messy to eat but well worth it. The bonus: it was cheap! And by cheap I mean food truck wise... yes it was. I think it was under $10 for the mushroom and spinach. It's a very novel concept, and you can see the fire oven from the side of the truck. So 3 stars for that. The menu selection is not bad either. The two Italian guys manning the truck are just the friendliest guys working in a food truck. Chatty, even. They were talking with me until my order was done. So another star for friendliness. However, I can't give it a 5 star because of the pizza itself. It comes out hot in the box when I get it, but they need to tweak their recipe a little. I ordered the Bianca plain, and it came out really salty. It was way too salty to the other pizzas I'm used to. Also, they need to work on the dough. The crust is really tough and rubbery. My jaws had a workout trying to gobble it up. I sure hope I didn't burn more calories trying to eat it than the calories consumed from eating the pizza itself. So that made me skeptical about trying the rest of the menu... Aside from the $10 I had to fork out for a plain pizza. But hey, if I'm at Hillsong LA, hungry and desperate, I would probably give it another go. read more

This pizza is AMAZING!!!!! I moved over from NY and I've lived here in Los Angeles for over a year now with out a single place i could consider to be even CLOSE to what I know of Pizza. When you ask "where's the best place to get pizza?" you immediately get the response NY is the place you wanna go for pizza. It's just that amazing there. But as luck would have it Pizza & Co is just as good if not better than some of the places i went to back in NY. (though that's subjective) The sauce is delicious, the toppings are tasty and well picked, the oven is actually a brick oven which is rare for "brick oven pizza" places these days. They don't assume you want pineapple on your pizza! MAJOR POINTS TO THEM FOR THAT! my ONLY gripe is that they don't deliver to my area :/ The only time i can get pizza from them is when i'm on at the Art Institute of LA's campus for school and if they happen to BE there. Let me just start by saying... these guys are absolutely fantastic. I work with a Production Company out of Simi Valley, and we brought these guys in to A) be a part of our movie, and B) serve our 60+ person crew some late night pizzas as a thank you for a rough week. I felt a little guilty throughout my seemingly endless conversations with Roberto (the owner) over the few weeks prior to our engagement, as our schedule kept shifting, call times kept moving, and the number of people we would be feeding kept shifting as well. With that being said, Roberto did his very best to work with me and accommodate our hectic schedule every step of the way and made the process (for me at least) easier than we deserved. All in all, when it came to the basics, Roberto and his team showed up early, they were set up and ready to start cooking incredibly fast, they were reasonably priced and very respectful. And as for the personal touches, Roberto was incredibly helpful over the phone, and he and his team were even greater and friendlier in person. I tried this pizza at eat see and hear. This pizza is not good (not even ok) and it's very expensive $15 for a small pizza (cheese only). The worst part is that the person in charge of the register is also touching your pizza with his bare hands when it comes out of the oven and not washing them or even using hand sanitizer. This is soooo gross, so not only is he grabbing dirty money but he occasionally wipes the sweat off of his forehead too because it's hot in there. So don't even consider this pizza unless you like money germs and sweat germs all over your pizza. This food truck needs to be retrained in hand hygiene. I loved their pizza. Really really good. Their crust is perfect, on the thin side but not too thin and not too thick. Has the right amount of chew. I ordered the Bianca with all their toppings, which is how I suggest ordering from them. Whatever pizza you go with, order all of the toppings. Their pepperoni is super large, so you get 4 slices on your individual pizza. Their cheese is super good, stringy but not too oily. I liked their sausage because it seemed authentic and I liked their mushroom option. Best pizza I ever ate! Loved the chewy crust drizzled in olive oil, topped with Kalamata olives, artichokes, and garlic. These 2 guys from Italy know how to cook, thatsa for sure! While waiting for it to be ready, Roberto, one of the owners, said they use almond wood for their fire pit, and the tomato sauce, olive oil, and pizza flour are all imported from Naples. They even offer a selection of Pellegrino sodas. A couple weeks later, I ordered the pesto and cheese pizza -- totally heavenly! Next time I want to go for a goat cheese and arugula combo -- can't believe I'm already thinking about my next visit! Highly recommended :) read more

I Booked the pizza & co truck for my daughters birthday and I cant even begin to say how happy we were! First of all the pizza was soooooooo delicious that people were saying it was hands down the most authentic and best Italian pizza they have ever ate! the ingredient's were fresh and the crust was perfect, not oily at all! The men working in the truck were an added bonus! they were Italian and super friendly! They even made a heart shaped pizza for my daughter since it was her special day :-) I would highly recommend these guys for any event (kid or adult).
