One of the food trucks that sets up outside the CVS on San Vicente. It's a quaint little truck, everything set up with bright colors. The truck is set up with a tablet you order at, and a little table you can eat at. Service was quick and easy. I ordered The Spicy, their spicy burger with jalapenos. It's a smash burger on a potato roll, and it was pretty well smashed and crispy. The star is the sauce though, it's a bright vibrant sauce with some nice umami that really ties the burger together with the jalapenos and onions. I wouldn't say it's a contender for best burger in LA, but definitely a solid option if you're in the area. read more

was up in palisades and starving, and I saw this place on Yelp that looked promising, even though it was sort of new. I got the truffle smashburger with double meat and I was pretty disappointed. the flavor was really lacking, and there was barely any truffle aioli. I was honestly looking forward to the aioli the most because i love truffle aioli, but there was at MOST one teaspoon on that burger. also, the workers said it would be about 15 minutes for the burger but it took like 30 minutes. and there's only one table and chairs (it's a food truck) so be prepared to have people hog it for eternity. read more

I LOVE Sunset Smash! The food is great (the fries are addictive) and the owner couldn't be nicer. The truck originated in the Palisades. My heart goes out to the community that lost so much. I'm guessing SUNSET SMASH will some day makes its way back to the Palisades but for now I'm glad that it's found its way to Brentwood, and that the location, outside of the CVS on San Vicente, is perfect. Recently the truck added photos. Great photos of tasty burgers and a collage of photos that capture historical moments of the business - including feeding firefighters and volunteers during the fires. It's inspiring. Located outside of Ralph's on Sunset and just wanted a quick and cheap dinner (not so easy to achieve in PP!) They have a nice menu including grilled cheese which is nice. I ordered the basic single smash burger, and got fries and a drink for $15.38. The burger was good. Not sure if there is a sauce on it but next time I'll either tell them to hold it or go easy. It was a bit much. The rest of the burger was very tasty. I found the fries too seasoned / salted for my taste so I'll know better for next time. Even given that, I would absolutely try them again. Multiple times now, I place an order, get a text back 10 minutes later saying "we're not open yet" even though I'm ordering within the hours listed on their instagram. Saw this truck a week ago and decided to try it for dinner. Hands down one of the best smash burgers I have had. If you haven't tried it you are definitely missing out! Potato roll it comes on is perfect touch to the smash burger. I tried the truffle sauce on the side. One of the best truffle sauces I have had! There truck is clean and painted a perfect color for being near the coast! Their burger didn't take long to come out which is nice if you're looking for a quick bite! THEY ARE OPEN as of May 21st, 2024. (Not sure why Yelp says "Temporarily Closed" ). Food truck parked in front of Ralphs on Sunset. Smash Burger's are excellent. Got a double meat, one cheese w/ onions and pickles for 12 bucks. Quality of ingredients is good. Next time I'll try their onion jam on it. They have fries and grilled cheese sandwiches as well. Took about 10 minutes as they are made to order. Nice to have this option next to the Mexican Tent as they are both there late afternoons / early evenings most days for dinner. (Other trucks have snagged that spot for lunch). Keep up the good work guys -- I'll be back! read more

Upstart food truck that we want to like and support. But at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon, they couldn't make a Ruby (burger with a fried egg). So we got a double, truffle double, and some fries. They said it'd take 15 minutes - which seemed a little long, given how limited their menu is and how quick smash burgers cook, since they are so thin. Ended up only taking 25 minutes! Was a decent burger, but hopefully they can improve their logistics. My brothers friends opened this truck as young 20 year old's starting their own business. I find this extremely impressive since I was once their age! The burger was incredible and the fries were perfectly seasoned. They brought us our food to the table on the sidewalk and talked to us, introducing themselves.
