The food is okay. It's close to home so I get take-out there. I've tolerated the price recent increases ($15 small pizzas, $12 chicken parm sandwiches), but yesterday was a bridge too far. I ordered a modest dinner of eggplant parm, a gyro and a side salad. Not a dinner salad, but just a SMALL SIDE SALAD. (as an aside, I told the staff on the phone that there were no prices listed on their online menu) $51. Yeah, Fifty-one dollars. I was surprised but didn't want to be the person standing at the counter asking questions. When I got home I called and was told that the small salad was $12.30!!! For comparison, the side salad at Giorgio's, a "fine-dining-ish" restaurant is $4.00. I went into the restaurant around 2pm today and placed an order for a meatless sub with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and cucumber. After a long hiatus from frequenting Pizza Bella for lunch when I worked in the area we stopped by last night around 6pm for dinner. The place had a steady stream of phone/online pickup orders and there was one family seated in the restaurant waiting for their food. The place was borderline clean. I would not run my finger over any surfaces for sure. Table was sticky and there was a grungy look to the interior. Major turn-off ? FLIES!!! Get some pest control devices already. It was disgusting how many head buzzed us let alone landed on our food which arrived within 10 minutes. The pizza was delicious as I remembered and the fries weren't bad though somewhat bland- salt on a potato is not a sin folks. We did bear witness to a few order screwups and the family who was seated waiting for their meal when we came in we're legitimately upset when we were served before they were and then received their food cold. Staff was all young women who acted as if their job only entailed taking orders. I heard them indifferently apologize to multiple customers on line and in person. Pizza Bella is pretty popular since the place is usually has a steady stream of customers getting take out or eating in. The food takes a while to come out as everything is made to order. The dining area feels a bit crowded with the tables and seats packed close together in a limited space. There plenty photos of Bedford youth sports teams sponsored by Pizza Bella hanging on the walls. The pizza is good with the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings and a firm thin crust. The Seafood Salad and the Steak & Cheese subs are pretty good and tasty. On my two last visits, I ordered the #3 Special ($5.35 plus tax): Fish Sandwich on a bulkie roll with French Fries and Bottled Soda. The breaded fish was crispy outside though very greasy. When I picked up the dinner at your restaurant I was charged $39 and some change almost $40 for the meal. I had many people behind me so I just paid as I thought about it. It looked online again to check the price. It really upset me. I went to the counter and asked about it. They had nothing to offer me, but that is the price even though the price was listed as $27, I asked for your phone number they gave me an email so that I could email you regarding this matter. If 0 stars was an option I would've chosen it, this was the worst pizza place I've ever been too all the teenage girl employees were very rude and thought they meant something or felt entitled by slamming our food on the table and being disrespectful when asking and ordering. Going downhill, fast. If they get your order right, and that's a BIG IF, it's pretty good. The frequency at which they get it right is not high. They are continually forgetting things, or getting things wrong to the point that we check every piece of the order before we leave, which of course then means we have to wait longer for them to correct it. So don't go if you're in a hurry! Tonight we decided we'd go in and order hoping by being there nothing would be lost over the phone. And then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. The cashiers kept looking at us, so they knew we were there and finally we went to the counter and asked how much longer (we'd been there 35 minutes and told 15-20 minutes). Of course they were too busy chatting amongst themselves I had to "interrupt" them to even ask about our order to which she said when to go orders are ready they are put here, and she pointed to a counter as if to say "see nothing's here, so it's not ready". I said, ok can you see how much longer? She begrudgingly went behind the counter and said oh there's a couple of orders here. And imagine that, our order had been ready but no one could take the initiative to actually look, instead the "it's not my job" approach. Small companies like this are going to struggle to stay in business if this is the staff they have working here. Our 7 year old was beside herself "aren't they paid to work? Why weren't they working?" A few nights later we had some friends coming over and ordered a few pizza's and they were awful, overcooked, the crust was so thin you could see thru the center of the pizza, all the toppings fell off when you picked up the slice from the lack of crust.
