The decor and interior is very relaxing and clean. The hostesses were just the sweetest at the door. We sat pretty quick and waiter was great. They had a decent menu with some specials and seasonal menu also. We ended up getting the club sandwich and some wings that were on special. The starter bread and butter is a must- warm and fluffy. Came Sunday noontime and tried the pork belly tacos from the summer menu. You get two large taco that you'll need two hands for - not your two bite street taco. The pork belly itself was great - incredibly savory with a great, soft braised texture. Unfortunately, the toppings bring the dish down. The mango added a bright contrast, but the cabbage and fried onions lacked crunch and muddled the bite. The sweet potato fries on the side showed how texture should be done - perfectly crispy outside, fluffy inside, with a nice hint of spice. I came here for my cousins bridal shower and it was AMAZING. This place is stunning! The room they had in the back was perfect for the occasion. The main dining area looks super cozy, spacious, and inviting as well. The food here is so delicious. We started with a tray of charcuterie meats and cheeses before each getting served an arugula salad that came with cheese, pears, and nuts. As a main I chose the chicken with mango salsa on top, with a side of rice. So good. I had a bite of my dad's mashed potatoes that came with his meal and they were some of the best I've had. That said, our dishes were over sauced and over salted, leaving the first bites very tasty but then way too rich and salty to finish. If you're serving good seafood, the fish itself should carry the flavor rather than being pooled in butter cream sauces. It started before we even pulled into the parking lot, when I noticed restaurant staff cleaning up the side of the road- a space not even visible from the restaurant. Bryce clearly has a great eye for attention to detail, consistently stepping in to clear a plate, fill a water, or offer drink refills before we needed to look for him. A few days have passed and Im still thinking about my meatloaf!! We were looking for a nicer restaurant to bring some visitors, and the Copper Door did not disappoint. It was a little over whelming at first with how many menus we were given (maybe about 5?? Including an iPad with more drink options), but our waiter explained all of it well. I appreciate that while we were seeking out a more upscale lunch, there were plenty of items on the menu for those not looking to spend more than $30 a head. We had such a wonderful experience at the Copper Door tonight. We were coming from a wake and wanted to pick up a gift card. Since it was dinner we decided to get a bite. I had the Chicken Caprese salad and my husband had a flat bread. Food was wonderful. But Megan our server was sensational. Even though obviously busy we never felt rushed. We ordered a charcuterie board and it was the only time in my dining experience that it didn't come out on a board. The prosciutto looked like it had been mashed. The cheddar cheese looked straight from a package, it came with naan bread that had no flavor, apple slices, blue cheese in a small container, roasted red peppers that was mush in another container, and some pepperchinnis that came out of a jar. It was bad. Nothing went with anything. The second thing we had ordered was calamari, which the texture was terrible and we finished neither plate. I ordered a espresso martini and that came straight out of a pre made bottle. I asked for light on the cream and was told that it was already premixed. My husband was looking for a good beer or local new one, and the menu was less than appealing for this. They also seated us with several menus of different sizes that all had the same food. For sure the Copper Door was solidly OK, taken as a whole. But it lacked enough overall that even though it's been 3 years since our first two visits, we've not been motivated to try again. The first thing that jumped out at me is that it's very loud/busy/bustling. Tons of activity. If one likes that at dinner then no problem but I definitely don't. Our servers both times were personable and friendly. No concerns there. The food was tasty but somehow also too much. Too much cheese, too much fat, too many calories. Again, if you want a lot of food and are able to process it all - great. But it didn't really appeal to Lovey or me. I can see it as a "Oh, this is a fancy place" kind of thing for some folks. My husband and I arrived early for our dinner reservations for 6 so we sat at the bar and were greeting by bartender, Patrick, who took a great deal of time explaining the menu! He suggested the steak and even spoke to the chef to inquire as to the possibility of adding au poivre sauce. Our group of 6 were seated, ordered appetizers and 5/6 all ordered either a filet or ribeye and yes au poivre sauce! Thanks Patrick! Wish we lived closer as this would be our go to place! I'm a Copper Door super fan! I absolutely love everything about their food, the vibes, and especially their martinis. My go to meal when I go here is the Seafood Stuffed Haddock and I normally switch out the potatoes for a vegetable. When it comes to the martini's I love that they have a different martini and dessert each month. I fell in love with the Pistachio Martini which is A1!! I have always had great luck with phenomenal service here. The waiters and waitresses are always kind and the food always comes out fairly quickly. Also, they give you bread that is to die for. The chicken parm is EXTREMELY thick... it literally looked to be two inches too thick. The pasta was ok. The new ravioli dish was okay, sauce was pretty good but nothing crazy. The dessert we got was the molten lava cake, which was okay but the honey comb tasted like cigarettes. Our server was friendly.. we had to wave her over multiple times as we felt we were an afterthought. it took us OVER two and a half hours for dinner - they were not even that busy for a Saturday night. the restaurant is beautiful of course but moved extremely slow. I came here last year for my birthday as well, and had an entirely better experience back then. way too overpriced for subpar food. My opinion about this place has changed. My wife surprised me with another visit to the Copper Door yesterday. Like our previous visit, it was superb in terms of food, service and ambiance! We sat at the bar, arriving about five minutes after they opened. Our drinks were perfect and the blue cheese stuffed olives delicious. As tempting as the "snacks" were, we decided to skip them and proceeded to order fish and chips for my wife and the crispy salmon bowl for me. The way our server described the "velvet frying" method intrigued me and it was a winner! There is something about the Copper Door that breaks down our resistance, so yes, we had dessert. We selected the "Dessert Sampler" and it was the perfect way to conclude our meal. Three well proportioned samples of chocolate peanut cake, crème brûlée and ginger snap cheesecake. I had a great cup of coffee and it was a wrap. Service was attentive without fawning, food arrived promptly without being rushed (or rushing), if only we didn't have two 30ish men next to us whose limited vocabulary and lack of appreciation for their surroundings necessitated their frequent us of f-bombs throughout their conversation. Wow! This place is such a gem! Love this place so much! Everything was fresh, tasty & locally sourced! I had the delicious wedge salad with chunky bleu cheese dressing, which was out of this world! Hubby had the French onion soup, meatloaf, & a side of mac & cheese! He loved everything! Soup was very flavorful. Meatloaf was very juicy & so yummy. Before our food arrived, I stepped away to wash my hands and overheard a woman speaking very harshly to an employee about other staff. I later learned this person was actually the manager, Casey. This was disappointing and unprofessional to witness, especially in what should be a welcoming environment. The restaurant itself is great, but the employees and guests deserve leadership that sets a better example. This is the first review I've ever left as I'm older and not much into leaving them but, I was disappointed by what I saw and it left a negative impression enough that days later I am still thinking about it. read more
