Cannoli - but chocolate instead of heavy ricotta and lovely dark chocolate drizzled atop

Dined there twice with Lovey and so it's time to say what's needed to say. Which is "Muy macho!" Wait, that was the djinn in Aladdin. What I need to say is "It's excellent - absolutely top notch and way worth a trip." In all we've now sampled an array of spuntini, antipasti, pasta fresca and dolci. The whole shebang, in other words. The house wines are solid - which is the mark of a restaurant that cares about their food. All the taglieri were uniquely conceived and delicious. The castelvetrano olives were the best olives I've had - lightly coated with a wonderful fennel, citrus and chili dressing. The roasted mixed nuts included pumpkin seeds and garbanzo beans along with the tree nuts. The Calabrian chili powder and lime gave them a nice zing. The stuffed garlic knots were highly unexpected. Compact containers of cheese, deep fried and then placed atop a lovely marinara. The duck egg tagliatelle was clearly fresh (as advertised), and wholly delicious along with the fancy pants mushroom "sauce". However, it was the spaghetti fra diavalo that really caught my attention. The spaghetti was thick and CLEARLY wasn't dried. Just the overall shape and texture proclaimed the fact. But ... as you know, spaghetti has to be extruded, not created with the more matter of fact rolling and slicing. So I asked Ethan, our waiter, whether they actually had an extruder in the kitchen. And they do! That's a $6,000 piece of machinery just to create a few pasta shapes. Color me impressed. First place I've been to in the East Coast that does that. And it's not just the pasta machinery. I'm a coffee nerd and happened to be seated next to their espresso machine. That baby starts at $13,000 and goes up from there depending upon options. CLEARLY they set this place up to "do it right". And they do. I feel like a goof because I failed spectacularly in photographing anything at all until we'd almost dived into our cannoli. But by putting them back on the same plate I managed my one pic. More to come, I promise. The restaurant is inside the Grand, their resort/hotel, and there's tons of parking. No busy street corner this - it's tucked away and the perfect location for a quiet and enjoyable stroll the restaurant and afterward to work off a few calories. Take it from me - you want to visit. You'll be happy you did.

We were staying at The Grand at the Bedford Village Inn and we're looking for a spot for dinner. The front desk staff recommended the Trattoria and I'm so glad he did. It is some of the best Italian I've had in New Hampshire. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, it was still decorated from Christmas, which made it even more magical. The waitstaff is superb, engaging, and on their game. Everything we ordered was fantastic and we will definitely be back. We started with the appetizer special, which was a smoked mackerel crostini. It was salty and smoky and delicious. I had the shrimp fra diavolo and hubby had the pappardelle Bolognese. All of their pasta is made fresh, in-house daily. The shrimp dish was spicy and delicious and absolutely everything I wanted. The toasted breadcrumbs on top took it to the next level. My husband's Bolognese might be the best Bolognese I've ever had. if you haven't been, give it a try. You won't regret it.

We arrived at 5:40 and the place was quasi quiet. Elected to sit at the bar -- was immediately greeted by the bar tender Martin who was very cheerful and served us delicious drinks. We ordered snacks and at that point the restaurant got super busy. Martin was still very attentive and upbeat although he was the only bartender in now a full restaurant! We ordered dinner -- delicious as was the wine! We certainly weren't rushed!! We will be back! Here are some dinner pics

Staff are quick to help with orders or questions, but they're quite busy! They have some small or sharing options as food, but it's mostly cocktail focused. Great selections for drinks, very well made. Some fun and unique options - see menu. Had 2 different cocktails and tried a 3rd, just wonderfully mixed with lively flavors and nice presentation. Also had some of their small notes - pickles and another - both devoured quickly by our table. Great spot, thanks.

The service was okay, the Hostess was quick to find us a table which was awesome since we were a party of six, so that was super appreciated. We sat down and drink orders were pretty quick but they did take awhile, which shows that they really do make everything from scratch. Their drink menu had some really cool, unique drinks on it and I honestly wanted to try them all. If they had a flight, I would have absolutely not been able to say no. We were super impressed with their bourbon selection, and they actually had pretty good prices too, so we were able to try some great options. It was the perfect night cap for our group to indulge in one last drink before bed. Awesome spot to chill and chit chat.

These were served with a pea and bacon risotto whose rich flavors matched the meatballs perfectly and the accompanying crisped breads balanced texture for the perfect combo. The pork belly tostadas had a great combination of toppings that gave them a fresh feel and almost made pork belly feel healthy, and the popover short rib dish was perfectly cooked and tasty. This one wasn't my dish, but I managed to snag a nibble and may be ordering it next time if they decide to add it to the regular menu. So good! The dishes were a nice size, leaving room for desert, and the fresh fruit meringue was an excellent finale. The restaurant itself is small, with a bar and just a handful of indoor tables. They had 4 more tables outside, however, which would be great on slightly cooler days. The indoor window seat we got was comfortable and the whole place had a cozy, friendly feel. Service was top notch, from a greeting as we entered to constant attention - we never really noticed our slightly small (bar style) table as all the dishes were cleared so quickly. I loved this place and will probably have to keep returning until I've tried the whole menu. I'm definitely hoping to try the outdoor tables next if weather permits.

They brought out chips and salsa right off and the salsa was flavorful and even had a little bite. The chips were warm and crisp. They had so many things i wanted to try but i ordered the Hawaiian fajitas and hubs had the Diego burrito. When I saw the food I wished we had brought a cooler and that I hadn't eaten so many of those chips! The fajitas were served in a pineapple and had steak and chicken and chorizo. I asked for no shrimp. The flavors were so good! I loved the mango salsa and could eat that right out of the container! The rice and beans were yummy too! I had barely started on the inside of the pineapple and I was stuffed! Somehow hubs managed to eat his entire burrito. Next time definitely will bring a cooler and take home what I cant finish. I also ordered a virgin pineapple coconut margarita. It was probably the only thing I didn't love but it was very good. I think I just prefer it with the alcohol. Looking at the desserts I was wishing I had some space but I literally could not eat another bite. Highly recommend u try it out!
