Got three four pieces of pizza today around noontime 8/23/26. Have eaten there before. BUT, today was a different story. The two pieces of cheese were good, what can mess them up, right. WELL, that being said the cheese spinach pie tasted like frozen pizza and it was gross. My chicken and broccoli piece has gross breaded chicken tender pieces. Today I tried the baked ziti with meatballs for $10.50 and this value can't be beat. The portion was ginormous, with a massive side of garlic bread, with 4 meatballs. The pasta was a bit overcooked/too soft and could have used a lil salt, but the garlic bread was delish. This will definitely last a few meals! read more

3.5 stars is about perfect for this place. If you are thinking of pizza, pizza by George is a good choice. It is not wildly great, but it is decent NH pizza. I would rate the pizza alone 4/5 stars. I would also rate their garlic knots and pepperoni rolls 4/5 stars. They sell a lot of other stuff though, and it's not good. We ordered a Capri salad and some bruschetta. The Capri salad was 95% iceberg lettuce with an old pale, dull, and dusty looking tomato sliced on top. I'm not even sure how to describe the bruschetta. Think of like an oversized lobster roll that someone stuffed full of a bunch of soggy cold veggies including tons of ground spinach, cheese, olives, and mushrooms. It's completely unreasonable looking and tastes like a mistake. We didn't even eat the salad or the bruschetta. Gave it to our chickens. Stick with the pizza. At least that part is by George. It's some amazing New York style pizza. I wish they delivered, but I still love them.

Your only as good as your last order......Medium meatball....The sub roll is over a foot long and hid those lousy 4 meatballs well, the only thing I tasted was the (nice) garlicky marinara..... Sub was undercooked, it collapsed into an almost meatless soggy mess, which wasn't a great loss since there was very little filling inside. So folks at Georges, if your going to whack me on meatballs, at least get rid of 50% of the bread and wake up the person at the broiler to insure its cooked..... your fooling no one. bonus; management you might want to teach your counter staff to count change? Even with the CHANGE amount printed on the receipt, the girl just couldn't figure it out. Been going to George's for over 20 years. Last night we ordered a ham and cheese sub, toasted bread, everything on it except jots and Mayo on the side. And an order of French fries. the fries were cold. Stuck together and clumpy. either undercooked or very old( cooked way earlier in the day. bread was not toasted when I asked the counter person she said " sorry about that, how do you want to pay for it? Great pizza, great service. I ordered pizza online at 5 on a Friday night. When I got there the woman at the counter was extremely apologetic that they were super behind and it would be a while. I was not wanting to give a poor review to this place, but the wait is ridiculous (45 min - 1 hr for a cold sub), the quality of food being put out has declined and the staff is rude. The young girl with the red hair has a resting b!@ch face - never says thank you, the manager is rude. The time I was in I had an order placed, was told 45min and I waited 2 hrs - only to get the wrong order on one item and burnt steak n cheese on the next. The larger gentleman making the pies was rude when I wanted to cancel my order, I waited long enough. I just don't think we will be coming back anymore. I'll drive further for more of a friendlier service and quality food (Telly's). It's a shame when a decent business becomes a hot mess. If you cannot handle the volume, hire more people. read more

My husband and I found Pizza by George a few weeks ago when returning from a quick trip to the coast from upstate NY. We saw the sign in the window that advertised NY style pizza. We joked that we would be the judge of that. We have lived in the desert South west and had "NY style pizza" all over the place that doesn't live up to the claim. Well, Pizza by George is the best pizza we have ever had, and we have made the return trip again already to have lunch, and we brought a pizza home with us. The ambiance is comfortable and casual and the service is 5 star. From two New Yorkers, Pizza by George is top notch NY style, but also amazing Sicilian and pepperoni rolls, too. The stuffed pizzas here are fantastic! Pizza By George has been in business since 1993 serving great pizzas, Italian food, and subs at affordable prices. My company enjoys making pitstops at the "PBG" to pickup a bunch of stuffed pizza pies before our "G.N.O." let's go! I don't mean the "G.N.O." sang by Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). It's a very rare "Guys Night Out" and we head over to our building manager's Pawtuckaway Lake home for our occasional poker nights. We enjoy the food over some bar drinks, games, entertainment in his complete "man room." I definitely wear my sunglasses indoors during poker. Okay so back to the food. The stuffed pizzas are very heavy & filling. It feels like I've eaten a "large cinder block." Mmmm good! My favorite stuffed pizzas are the Mexican, Buffalo Chicken, and Eggplant (full or lattice top), sold by the pie ($19.95) or by the slice ($4.25) from the neat display case near the counter, where you order and pay. They'll call your name when the food is ready to be picked up. The bright family friendly dining area has ample table seating and green painted walls with plenty of pictures of kids and local youth sports and framed certificates. There's a large 50" plasma TV mounted over the counter area! Besides the stuffed pizzas, the menu offers NY style pizzas, calzones (with ricotta), strombolis, focaccia, appetizers, pasta, salads, subs, wraps, bagged chips, and bottled beverages (Pepsi) from the cooler. Bottled beer and wine are available here. I stopped here for dinner on a Friday night and the kitchen had "lots of cooks" (around 10 of them) bumping into each other in the open kitchen/counter area. It was so comical! I ordered the Homemade Lasagna ($7.50) served with baked garlic bread for dinner, which was one of the BEST LASAGNAS I've had in a while, outstanding! The large brick of baked Lasagna was layered with lots of cheeses, meat, and firm noodles and topped with mozzarella and lots of hearty tomato sauce! I would love to have the recipe! Based on what I've had, Pizza By George! deserves 5 STARS for the exceptional stuffed pizzas, and pasta too! And I haven't given out many 5 STARS on Yelp to pizza places based on the pizza. I've been a customer since they opened. When I get a sub or diner, I am always VERY pleased. The pizzas are good. Especially if you like a lot of crust. Unfortunately, l am not a crust lover. Tonight, we got the meat pie for the first time. In my book, this is not a meat pie. Upon opening the box, we thought a mistake had been made, and we received someone's pizza. A meat pie should have a crust on top and bottom like a classic apple pie, for example. This i would classify as a stuffed pizza or maybe a calzone with cheese on top. The filling was greasy and bland, lacking any sort of flavor or seasonings. If you like classic meat pie stay clear of this one. read more

After hearing rave reviews from my son, I decided to try Pizza by George. For nearly 20 bucks I ordered a large pepperoni pizza. I live in Epping and they are in Raymond. By the time I got home the pizza was at the perfect temperature to eat as I knew the cheese had had enough time to settle and solidify. Upon opening the HUGE box, Although the pizza equalled in size, the slices were obviously not completely cut making picking them up and separating or almost having to tear them apart, a hassle. As I lifted the first slice up all the cheese slid off leaving nothing but sauce and crust. Speaking of the crust, this was the most soggy crust ever! So gross that holding it was nearly impossible. Last night I went back to Pizza By George in Raymond, NH for the very last time. I ordered, as usual, a Buffalo Chicken Wrap with extra buffalo sauce and tomatoes and onions. I specifically asked for no lettuce because I usually need to heat up the wrap when I get home - even though I do not live that far from the restaurant. I've also gotten used to either going back up to the counter to ask for more buffalo sauce or as I had planned last night, adding more sauce when I got home. Last night was a new low, though. When I got home and opened my stone cold wrap I found a pile of lettuce, some tomato and onions, and three cold, dry chicken tenders and NO BUFFALO SAUCE at all!!! Luckily, even though I'm in the midst of moving I still had some buffalo sauce in the fridge. But since this experience follows on the heels of another horrible experience a friend and I had a few Fridays ago where we waited over an hour and a half for a large veggie pizza only to find it had been sitting in a takeout box on the counter for over an hour. Without an apology, without any offer of a refund, discount or what have you we were handed the cold, greasy pizza and told "it shouldn't be gross because it's been "under the lights." Since it was now close to 8:30pm and we were both very hungry we ate it anyway. But last night I'd had enough! So I took a picture of the cold, dry wrap and posted it on George's FB page. (Since I've called in the past and asked for a manager and had been told they were busy - and, frankly, after my in store experience with the cold pizza I knew nothing would be done.) And what happened? Well, I did get a response! Here is the gist of it! "I apologize in trying to respond to your text I accidentally deleted it." Now anyone who uses Facebook knows that to respond to a POST (it was not a text!) you simply click on "comment" in the same line as "Like" which is UNDER the post. However, to DELETE a post you must PURPOSELY CLICK on the downward arrow in the upper right corner then CHOOSE "delete". I was driving through NH and happened upon this pizza place. It was a pleasant surprise. Some of the best pizza here. I bookmarked it on Yelp and will return if I'm ever in the area again. My only suggestion (if the management reads this) is to consider installing changing tables in the bathrooms. It's not too expensive to do, but it's a huge convience to people with kids. read more
