First, whoever took our order had bad customer service. Answered the phone and didn't say a thing. I had ordered a thin crust pepperoni and sausage pizza. Picked up my order I received a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pan pizza. This is my second time getting pizza here and both times I was not satisfied. read more

I had to redownload Yelp to leave this review, but it's important. First, this place is under new ownership, so don't let the low rating dissuade your decision to try this place because the old ownership earned that rating. Second, the food is great! As someone who both ate, and worked, at a Marchelloni's in Mendota, IL between 2004-2008 at the little corner store by the tracks, I can tell you that they brought the recipes back to this location. I used to live on this pizza in high school; my friends and I literally placed an order every Friday night for 4 years. I can't comment to what the food was like out here in the suburbs at this time, but if you're a Mendota native, this place tastes exactly like you remember. Don't hesitate to give it a shot. Also want to make the comment that my wife and I had called on a Wednesday without knowing the hours and the phone was still answered as I was eager to try this in hopes it was like my childhood. The gentleman on the other side was very apologetic to say they're closed and actually mentioned how if he wasn't working on the dough currently, he would have made us a quick pie. We of course rejected the offer knowing they're closed now, but the offer itself sheds light on the personality of the staff. All this to say: Thank you, new owners. Thank you for respecting the old recipes. For 1 night, you took me back to being a freshman in high school, having a LAN party at my house playing Halo with an ice cold Mountain Dew nearby. We ordered a basic cheese pizza and a large order of the dough nuggets. My daughter was so happy with her dinner. I used to take my kids on Friday nights after daycare and pick up pizza and nuggets. We would snack on the nuggets on the way home...shhh!! Don't tell dad! Then the ownership changed and we stopped going. Now under the new ownership, the quality has returned and so have the smiles on my daughter's faces. Thank you! Disgusting! Dude on the phone said he didn't know how to make a grilled chicken sandwich, and was confused when we asked for a cheeseburger. When food got here, it was very unsatisfactory. The DOUGH NUGGETS are dough slices, and very dry. Only good thing about this experience was the delivery man. He was very courteous. read more

Horrible!! Gave me RAW chicken wings. These wings were still clucking. The only thing missing were the feathers. Waited an hour for delivery for RAW wings. I have included a pic below. Biting into it was disgusting. The pan pizza isn't as good as it once was either. The pizza crust seems flatter than before too. It isn't a doughy and crunchy. read more

I love their pizza but moved from my Crest Hill favorite location. I accidentally ordered a thin crust pizza, assuming that was their "regular" crust that I love from the Crest Hill location. When it arrived, I could immediately tell something was off because the box was so light. I had been craving Pizza by Marchelloni for weeks and was so disappointed when that pizza came, I called the store (on Barney Drive). They immediately sent the driver with a new pizza -- the one I really should have ordered. That was SO MUCH appreciated and I was grateful. The order mishap was my fault (and I hate ordering online). They wanted to make sure my order was what I wanted. I can't wait to place my next order and add a beef roll to that pizza!! read more

This place has been around since the 1980s. They've moved locations several times, but the pizza has been consistent. It's a pan style pizza that's heavy on olive oil and good Italian flavor. It's a drive for me, but I'm willing to take the time to get this great pizza for my family. read more

I tend to stop and this Marchelloni's whenever I am passing through Joliet and since the place changed ownership over a year ago I have noticed an overall increase in the general quality and taste of the food being served there. I have tried a good portion of the menu items and recommend the beef roll which is absolutely phenomenal. On top of that I really like their piazza, specifically their thin crust pizzas. The toppings always taste fresh and the cheese on top is just that right amount of crispy golden brown that I like. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good pizza. It certainly blows places like Domino's and Pizza hut out of the water. read more

I love their pizza as a neutral pizza order, meaning something I dont think about but is def better than your pizza chain pizza. The bread nuggets are a perfect marriage with their pizza and they normally have great deals that include the bread and soda. Taking a step back I wouldnt ever agree with another poster thats its terrible or even close to pizza hut pizza, and taking another step back I could see how it may not be the most amazing pizza either. But in conclusion the service is friendly and the pizza is different and hits the spot better than your typical grease pizza bucket shops. read more

I love their cheese nuggets! The pizza is definitely not traditional "Italian" style, but more along the lines of a way better version of dominoes or Pizza Hut. There's a coupon "dinner for four" which includes cheese nuggets, large 2 topping pizza, and 2 one liter bottles of pop (they have RC) for 18.99!!!! Such a deal. The last time I ordered from here, I knew the ownership changed. The order process was a disaster...it was like the guy had never seen the menu before. Then I got my pizza and dough nuggets and everything was off. The dough nuggets weren't seasoned which is the most important part. The pizza crust was also lacking seasoning and the toppings and cheese weren't fully applied. I used to go out of my way for this pizza but it's like the new owners got the recipes, but weren't trained I the process. My favorite pizza is now just forgettable. I love this pizza. The fresh ingredients and unique buttery crust is fantastic. Try the wings with medium sauce. These aren't your out of the freezer into the fryer wings. They are good size, and the sauce is very different and really good. Only down side...Once I ordered a pizza and when I picked it up the worker had long hair and no hair net. Poor service. Made made an error on pizza. Acted like they were doing me a huge favor to remake and I had to make a 2nd trip to them, they wouldn't deliver. Also much longer wait (even though I had already waited previously they wouldn't expedite the remake.) Other businesses have went to greater lengths to fix their error. For 20 years I have been a customer. This Saturday I placed my order for delivery. I ordered, as always, dinner-for-4 with a coupon. The guy taking my order was new. I had to spell everything out for him. He said my pizza would be there in 30 minutes. After waiting an hour an a half I called them to see what happened. No answer. I waited 20 minutes and tried again. Still No answer. I shut off the porch light and about 30 minutes later a new delivery guy showed up. 20 years of good service, something must have happened, so I paid the guy and took the pizza box. As he was leaving I said hey it's cold. He left. When I got into the kitched an opened the box the pizza box and nugget box was a mess all pushed or shaken into a quarter of each box. I called for the third time this time a guy answered and I explained the condition of the pizza and nuggets: cold, shuffeled or dropped how I tried calling twice and got no answer and that it was 2 hours later then the time he said. I asked what happened? The guy said sorry. I said I'm a 20 year customer and that's it "sorry" I said I don't want it bring back my money. He hung up. I took a picture of the pizza and then feed it to the raccoons. This was a good business now gone bad for 20 years I would have given them 5 stars now they get zero (0) stars read more
