Not only do they make amazing pizzas but try their cookies as well. On game day the energy here is unbeatable. They play all the NFL games, which makes it a fun place to hang out. I called in my order and ordered a medium three topping pizza. When I got there, I noticed there was a special for Thursday any three topping pizza you can get a large for $24.99. Staff did not tell me -I was not aware when I called I could've gotten a larger pizza for the same price. Everything else was good except if there's a deal I think they should tell you on the phone. When you walk up to this place it "seems" like a hole in the wall kind of place....but when you walk in it's a different story...plenty of seating and it's homey atmosphere. And they're old-school in the that you order you pizza and they write it down on the old triplicate forms...IFYKYK...it was great...our little server was wonderful...(sadly I failed to get her name for a shout out)..she knew her stuff and was personable...and she knew how to count change which is a dying art!! Now to the pizza!!! We ordered a medium thin crust and the crust was perfect...not crunchy like a cracker but that perfect crisp...loved it!! The cheese was a quality cheese because we let it cool too long on the way back to our hotel but the cheese didn't get hard or salty, it still tasted awesome... There was lots of sauce and it was the perfect blend of spices and sweet that we love... We also ordered half with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms and they did not scrimp on those... I'd say all in all in-spite of it being cold ( our fault not theirs) this was one of the better pizzas we've had in a while...definitely recommend giving them a try and when we come through again we'll be ordering from them and hopefully that time not letting it get cold... read more

This was a welcome stop on our way back to Ventura from Six Flags. We wanted a solid pizza place with good food and family friendly. It was perfect and our pizza was very good. It must be popular because it was a Monday and there was lots of takeout happening as well as dine in. A really nice perk was the help yourself salad bar. Was great to have that healthy option after all the fried food at the park. If we make it back that way would definitely visit for pizza again. read more

This is an update to a review I made earlier in the year. I was very complimentary of the pastrami sandwich as being the best or one of the best I've ever had! Unfortunately, I've been in twice since that visit and both times the pastrami sandwich was a 3 out of 10. Looking like store-bought pastrami that they ran through the microwave. Very disappointing and a MASSIVE drop-off from the spring. I'm sure this place has a lot of great items but the pastrami sandwich is absolutely not one! See attached photo - this is what it's looked like the last two times. I will definitely be back to Pizza Chief because it's local and we love that, but either fix this sandwich or just remove it from the menu because this ain't it! This is such a nostalgic and delicious place. I've been coming here since I was a kid or ordering delivery and it's always so good. It's more affordable than some others. They let me order the personal size of the bbq chicken pizza! It's so good!!!! The turkey sandwich was great. The salad bar has SO many options and I. Wow...what else can I say? Recently I treated myself to the good stuff, a decadent "out n in" burger pizza that came with a small mountain of delicious cheeseburger toppings. I had never been here before as their prices are not cheap; however, every bite of this large, heavenly delicious pizza was worth it. Staff was so friendly and service was prompt. We were really excited to try this place, we've tried some of the bigger pizza spots in the area and wanted to try somewhere new. We ordered over the phone, with a set pick up time and even called to add something to the order after the initial call. We went to pick it up and arrived a couple of minutes early, but there was a couple in front of us. When we went up to the front of the line, we quickly found out that they had not put our order in and misplaced the order slip. The cashier was very nice and respectful, but unfortunately it was an inconvenience for us to not have our order made on time. Keep in mind it wasn't just not ready, it hadn't even been started. They put our order in and when we went in to pick it up for the second time, there was another customer with the same problem we had. If customer service is important to you, I would avoid this place. It would have been nice for the spot to at least recognize the inconvenience, but they proceeded to act as if it wasn't a big deal. Was looking at different food places around me since I'm housesitting/dogsitting in the area and this one caught my attention because it wasn't very far away from where I am. Looked on the menu online and prices are fair and pizzas looked great but then I see something everyone wants to see... the specials! Every day of the week is a specific special such as today's Monday special which is a large one topping pizza for $15 and something change. Couldn't resist that offer so I placed the order and the person on the other end of the line was very accommodating and helpful despite my hearing problem I have and was able to place an order ready for pickup within 15 minutes. It filled my car up with that enticing aroma of freshly made pizza that I couldn't wait to get back asap to eat! They're worth it and very delicious! My son and I stopped by to catch the 49er game here a couple weeks ago, and we had an amazing experience. We were greeted by Paige, a very kind young woman who took our order. As it was our first time, she did amazing with us asking a few questions. We went with the Bonnie and Clyde, and 10 hot wings. The Bonnie was one of the best pizza's that I have ever had. The honey on top took it to the next level. The wings as well. This is definitely a place we will return to. My wife and I go to Pizza Chief all the time. It's a great spot to watch sports and the comedy shows are fantastic. I love how straightforward the energy is there. They don't give a shit about forcing you to love it and they don't care if you don't....in a good way. You get what you see at pizza chief. Respect them, they'll respect you..simple as that. Oh yeah, the food. Cheesy sticks all damn day. The meatball sandwich and the veggie sandwich are staples for me. As soon as I rack up enough points for a free lunch, I get one of the two every time. Will get a another chance as going to a place consistently usually means they learn to do it like how you want. This is just a great all-around place. They have tons of TVs to watch all the games. We also like that there's more than enough space to spread out. The vibe, once you walk in, is really cool. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. We ordered the Chief Combo, 5 piece mild wings, salad & a couple of canoli. WOW, everything was really good. We love the combo pizza as it's covered with a ton of veggies. The salad bar was AMAZING!!! Everything was fresh and very clean. The service was quick, efficient, and very friendly. We also tried a really good non-alcoholic beer, not o'douls. (sorry, I don't remember the name) The BBQ pizza is also pretty good. :) We will definitely be back. We moved in nearby, and Pizza Chief has become a staple in our house. It's one of those places that reminds me of places I went to as a kid. Salad bar is my go-to. The cheese bread is great. We haven't ventured into the wings yet, but it's been consistently good. Wings are my next order! It's relatively quiet during the day, but it pops off in the evening. The kitchen staff is young and friendly, the food is fast and the kitchen is clean. When we came last time, our pizza got swapped with someone else's, and they were fast to fix and adjust for us. There are only 4 stars for now because I haven't tried everything yet! read more
