I ordered the 8 piece potato skins for $13 and they barely had any cheese on them and barely any bacon (pic). Also I ordered a sandwich specifically because I wanted something with avocado and there was no avocado in it. Umm, no thanks. I just waited a little less than an hour for wings and a small pizza (all of which cost me $25, BTW) and I am so unhappy that I am still looking for something to eat for lunch! First, the pizza; yeah it's a small, but it's SMALL!! It's about the size of a paper towel, if you want a bit of perspective. I ordered half broccoli and bacon and the other half cheese. I tried the B&B side first; something has an odd taste and I can't figure out what it is. It's prominent enough that I will not be going back for seconds. The crust is nasty!! I'm very picky about crust, and I understand that, but this one not only lives up to my expectations, it's just gross. I don't know if the pizza is cooked in some kind of vessel, but there is an edge on it that doesn't allow for a fluffy crust. Plus, the grease permeates throughout the pizza, even though the bacon is only on half. The reason Pizza Hazel gets two stars instead of one is the wings. I ordered the Italian Style Regular. I was not aware that this was not a flavor, per se, but a 'style'. In other words, Italian Style Regular are just breaded chicken wings that have no flavor/seasoning, but at least they are edible. I may get a reply saying how many orders for pizza are received in a day, blah blah blah, and that's fine, but does that really indicate SATISFIED customers on the other end of those orders? About 3 1/2 stars. Pizza Hazel is your local pizza joint that serves your typical pizza place stuff and them some. The menu is huge and includes combinations of many items that you could just ask for custom. The menu is a little too drawn out for my taste for a pizza joint. I have only dined in and have experienced the food delivered fresh and hot. It is located on the opposite end of town but have been satisfied enough that we have returned back several times. I have ordered mainly pizza here, but do recall ordering other items as well. Reasonable prices, hot, fresh food, and great customer service has had us coming back. The folks running the place appear to be Portuguese or Brazilian and have always been down to Earth with us and friendly. Actual human-to-human contact goes a long way these days! Wish it was located on the other side of the river so I could enjoy them more often. Only downside is that we have been the only couple dining in, but that is no surprise considering the way the seating area looks. A couple of plasma TV's cannot compensate the bars on the windows and the overall run down look inside. I understand it is Lowell, but this is not that bad of an area and the bars just kind of creep me out. Overall, Pizza Hazel has won us over and will return in the future. read more

I had a couple of friends over last night and we ordered take out from this place. We were quoted a 35 minute delivery time and lo and behold, exactly 35 minutes later my buzzer was ringing. Points for speed and accuracy. We ordered two large pizzas--a Hawaiian and a buffalo chicken. The Hawaiian was good, but the real star was the buffalo chicken. Tons of chicken and spicy saucy goodness. And the chicken was tossed in the buffalo sauce, not like at some places where the pizza is made with plain chicken and the buffalo sauce added on afterwards or just mixed into the marinara. Check your menu for the coupons inside. I noticed after the fact last night that there was a coupon for 2 large gourmet pizzas (which both of the ones we ordered were classified as) for $23.95. The owners are friends of my boss and this past Saturday decided to cater to our business (we are small, but they were sure to impress!) They had a monstrous greek salad, several kinds of homemade fresh pizza, and a piping hot chicken ziti alfredo. At first, I didn't want to gorge (even though they brought enough to feed our office and then some) but after we tasted it we all couldn't get enough! I HIGHLY recommend this place, based on the food alone, as I have never been to the restaurant, but the owners are also very nice people and are the type to do anything to make YOUR dining experience as great as mine. Stuffed shells were definitely never a frozen product- you can tell by the ricotta (though the marinara was a bit sweet for me) Chicken avocado wrap was HUGE and the chicken was incredible. This place is on Eat24.com and was a great find when I first used them. The menu is very reasonably priced and has a great variety. This said, I really like fish and chips and fried scallops; both of which are very well priced and appealing. When delivered quickly, it is unbelievably good. However, there have now been at least two occasions when the delivery took an hour or more and the food was so bad it could not be eaten. Additionally, when this happened, they had told the delivery service that the food had been delivered when it clear had not been. The issue is that with tax, tip and fee; this is $18-$20 for something that can't be eaten. While I gave them one strike, and then a second. this third time was the last straw. Not only did they lie again about delivery time, but this time the driver dared to text me telling me that the food was on time and that the issue was our receptionist. First, this is against Eat24' protocol as they contacted me directly. Second, this kind of attitude for something that I could not eat and did not demand a refund for is reprehensible. I will not order from them again. Maybe $18 is not much for lunch to some people. For me it was a treat that disappointingly turned out to be trash. read more

Another solid order from Pizza Hazel. Ordered delivery, I got the fish and chips and boyfriend got the seafood plate. Delivery was super speedy, had our order well within half an hour. Everything tasted just as expected. The only thing I think could have been a little better is the breading on my fish; if it had been just a little crispier I think it would have been perfect, but it was still yummy. Online ordering is a plus. One time, a friend of mine ordered chicken fingers and fries, and they forgot the fries. Instead of bringing the fries, they said they would give him free fries next time, which was disappointing, and why I gave 4/5. However, I have ordered several times from them over the last few years, and have never had a problem, so I will assume that was likely a one-time incident. Much better than most take-out pizza. Go with the "thin" crust option if you prefer something similar to Papa Gino's. We've had a few different pizzas from Hazel's since moving to Lowell, and I love that you can order online. The biggest drawback from ordering online is that the descriptions of the various speciality pizzas can be misleading. For instance, the White Ranchero says "pizza sauce", but comes with ranch dressing. Our faves - the Mediterranean and the Gourmet Pesto. The wings are great, and they've got a wide arrangement of sauces for you to try. Personally, I'd skip anything else from the appetizer section of the menu. Ordered the steak tips with rice. The steak was very bland and tough to chew. The rice was good. My son ordered a pastrami sub , he said the pastrami was good but they over toasted the sub and it was a bit burnt. Others in my family also ordered the steak tips and they had the same reaction, very bland and tough to chew. I do have to say kudos for delivery, they delivered very far to get to our house. The women who delivered the food was very pleasant. I will have to try out some other things in the future to rule out a one time bad night. And maybe steak isn't there strong point. read more

Garbage food. I tried a small buffalo chicken calzone with extra cheese and also their "new" Mac & cheese. First of all the delivery time was about an hour and a half, but that's fine had no where else to go. Now to the food, the small buffalo chicken calzone was actually a decent size, but the chicken tasted like it was cooked three days ago for about 5 hours. It was very dry chewy and hard. The "extra" cheese was all but non-existent. The Mac & cheese was cold and not very cheesy. I travel for work every week and the food I get to try everywhere I go is one of my favorite things about it. All in all it was a very poor experience for much more money than it was worth.
