This property is both a Pizza Hut & Wing Stop restaurant. Since I was staying in the hotel directly behind it, I decided to drop by and get some wings for my late night dinner. Noticed on the door that they closed at 10pm, and I arrived about 9:40. Employee was already into breaking down the salad bar, but she did ask if I was dining in, picking up, or placing a to go order. She took my order of boneless wings and said they should be ready in 15 minutes. I went ahead and did my check in at the hotel and then came back to the restaurant. My order was ready and waiting. Employee was moderately polite, and I appreciate not having to wait for my order when I returned. I ordered the honey bbq boneless wings. Delivery & quality extremely inconsistent. Typically ordering around 3-4pm, sometimes my food is well-made and delivered well within the estimated timeframe, and then sometimes-like now-when my food was made over an hour ago, and is now 55min past estimated delivery time (and counting, because the tracker currently states it's "preparing"). Whoever manages this location needs to seriously start thinking through delivery contingencies and keeping a standard in quality. read more

Used to be great. They absolutely cannot keep employees. "hot n ready" is now "warm-ish n rarely ready". Be prepared to wait for at least ten minutes and be ignored at the drive through. You may eventually get to the point where a grumpy teen hands you a pizza. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET EXTREMELY SICK WITH FOOD POISONING AFTERWARDS!!! We ordered personal pan pizzas and wings and the toppings were of course different on the pizzas but mine was the only one with onions and sausage on it. After eating the food, 3 hours later I started getting violently sick. For the next 18 HOURS I got violently sick and couldn't get off the toilet EVERY 10 minutes. No sleep , lost 12 lbs in 24 hours. I was so weak and dehydrated my wife took me to urgent care and they had to run an IV to give me medication and saline to try and hydrate me and stop the nausea. I wouldn't wish what I went through on ANYONE. It was HELL. Worst 18 hours of my life. But what does Pizza Hut do ? Refund my money for the order and called it a day. They did refer me to their insurance company "intrepid direct insurance " which is a joke. I felt like my suffering was worth a little compensation and possibly for any medical bills that the doctors office may send me . But they kept giving me excuses and saying there is no way to say it came from their food ??? Like sorry I didn't scoop it out of the toilet so yall could examine it. They don't care and never had any intention of helping me after what I went through. I hope this Pizza Hut closes its doors for good. Because something is WRONG in there. Wow. Pizza Hut always comes through but they really need to get their act together at this location. A 15 minute order turned into 35 minutes. I'm only taking away 3 stars because I get the whole "summer crew" thing. However, I am a big advocate of online ordering being honest. If you say 15 minutes, I expect no more than 25 minutes tops. If you are in your summer slump, then be honest and say 45 minutes. But the food is tasty. The place was clean and it was just as the quality of other Pizza Huts. I love Pizza Hut, but I do not like rude behavior. I called in an order last night, and the young lady who answered 'can I have your order?' did not let me finish a sentence. She handed the phone to someone else and said, "I can't understand a word he's saying." When the second lady asked for my order, I asked, 'did she just say that she couldn't understand me?' I have just recently started eating at this Pizza Hut and evidently it has improved considerably over the past. I have found it clean and the food very good. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. I usually eat at lunchtime and get their buffet. I do recommend it as a lunchtime place to eat. read more

This was my first and last time at this restaurant. We ordered our drinks and breadsticks first. They brought us the drinks and the mozzarella sause, but we waited 30 minutes for the breadsticks. I showed up for carryout that we ordered over the phone, we ordered over the phone and they got our total wrong over the phone and i paid more than they told me. I went to pick up and waited a good 20 minutes after they told me it was almost wrong. While i was waiting one woman came inside and got a refund. There were 3 other people standing around waiting with me. An absolutely terrible experience. I ordered pizza, wings, and chocolate dippers from the hotel behind the Pizza Hut, for delivery for me and my wife. After 45 minutes, I called the Pizza Hut and the order was waiting for delivery. 30 minutes later, the food finally showed up. Nothing was hot anymore. The pizza was laying in pieces on top of itself. The wings has absolutely no flavor. The chocolate dippers had no dipping sauce. The delivery person handed me somebody elses credit card slip to sign for the pizza, and I had to correct him. Finally managed to make contact with Pizza Hut reps through twitter, and was told I would be contacted. I was offered gift cards, but have no intention of ever eating there again. Instead, a written letter of apology was requested, and a possible refund of the money spent on the meal. 3 weeks later now, and still no contact. Pizza Hut completely failed, and I would never eat here again, and tell all the people that work with me the same thing. read more

I love Pizza Hut's pizza and wings but this restaurant has got to get it together. I ordered the Big dinner box that comes with two pizzas 8 wings and 5 breadsticks. i also ordered some extra boneless wings. It was carryout. They told 15 minutes. Ok. I left my house, got cash and drove to the restaurant. I was there in 20 minutes. The food was ready. I picked up and drove home. I live less than 4 miles from the store. Got home went in and plated the food. It was cold! Now I like cold pizza as much as the next person but not when I expect it to be hot or at least warm. I paid 33 dollars for this meal. I'm sorry to have to give Pizza Hut of Havelock only 1 star but that's all I'm going to give them. First, we walked in to place a carry out order, hoping whoever took the order would at least get that part right. We had a pretty decent order but nothing too complicated or so we thought. On the first pizza, we ordered what was basically a meat lover's pizza but on one half of it, we wanted to also add mushrooms. I didn't think that was too difficult to understand. My youngest son just wanted double bacon on his and the oldest wanted pork sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños and ham. We sat at the "waiting bar" and ordered a glass of tea and a Pepsi while we waited. The friendly dude that took our order promised to get them right out to us as soon as he took our order to the back. That's when the waiting game started. The woman in the back started arguing with one of about 4 guys back there over petty personal stuff, loud enough that the folks out front could hear her. There was only one waitress, who tried her best to be polite and courteous. There were 5-6 2-4 top tables and a 6-8 top singing "Happy Birthday" to the top of their lungs, mind you with little kids. Everyone that was coming in was getting frustrating at having to wait for service. My husband and I just watched at all the antics around us was getting crazier by the minute. The poor waitress asked us if we'd been helped yet and we told her we had ordered pizzas to go but we're waiting on a Pepsi and a sweet tea in the mean time. She immediately started trying to find glasses for another couple that just sat down and had given her their drink order. I couldn't help but get tickled. The fellow that took our order was rather embarrassed that he'd forgotten our drinks and jumped out there to fix them, complimentary mind you, for us very apologetically. The waitress kelp apologizing as well. I told them it was their fault. They need much more help than what they had on. It has been that way every time I've been in that particular restaurant. So, what turned into a 15-20 minute wait turned into about a 40-45 minute wait. When we checked to see if they'd got the order right, the meat lover's that my husband and I'd got with the added mushrooms to one half turned out to be meat lovers on one half and mushrooms on the other. You'd think after having to wait all that time that the pizzas would've been hot and correct but they were barely even warm. Needless to say, unless there's a major management overhaul, we probably won't be going back any time soon. I'm so sorry that we were disappointed. First time I went in and picked up the food myself. The crust was very thin and it seemed like " chef " had a heavy hand in mariners sauce. Second time I put in an order for delivery online and went more specific on what I wanted and it turned out great. I've lived in the Havelock "Metropolitan" area for most of the last 25 years. I remember when they built this newer Pizza Hut as a "Bistro". it was certainly a step up from the older one in the middle of town that it replaced. Here's the problem...the food is acceptable as it is standard issue "Pizza Hut", hard to screw that up but it can be done. My problem is with the service and management. During their lunch buffet the service is fine but the management of keeping fresh, popular pizza on the buffet is lacking...even when there isn't a crowd (which there rarely is due to the reputation this place is getting)...then there's the after 5 PM crew...Why would anyone have to wait 10 minutes to even be acknowledged when there wasn't more than 4 tables already seated? Basically, the place was empty. Oh, that's right, they were out back on some kind of smoke break which I noticed when we drove in and around the building to park! It took someone in the back yelling quite loudly that there were people at the front to get someone to seat us...kind of felt like I was inconveniencing them to be honest. Here's where it gets "sensitive". Our "server" made an attempt to be nice but you could tell it was forced and she was less than, shall we say, presentable in a reasonably professional capacity...I don't want to get too personal here but it was bad enough that I wasn't really even that hungry anymore. What was worse was how our order was brought out...it was done "incrementally", ...we didn't order pizza just wings and fries for my daughter and a sandwich for me...no sauces, didn't even ask and when it was requested the sauce for the wings didn't even get there until after the 5 wings were gone. She actually apologized by saying: "Sorry 'bout that, I was on my phone"...and this wasn't some young, attractive airhead either...she was quite the opposite and she was in no hurry either...after looking around, I saw 3 other servers that were equally lacking. While it's true I order "out" from there 90% of the time and the food is acceptable for what it is but evey once in a while I like to go in and sit down...especially with my kids who are older now and leaving the nest so to speak...I'm also not overly critical of things (though this review may say otherwise) but I wish this pizza hut would get some decent managers and crew and be a good bit more accomodating. It'll be a while before I set foot inside again and I might just quit getting stuff there at all...the Pizza Hut in James City about 20 minutes up the road will have to do... read more
