Food very yummy. The subs and pizza are really good. Service is somewhat speedy. And the decor is you know like decent.

I am beyond angry. We came here straight from the beach because a local gluten free group would not stop raving about this place. As the mother of a gluten free toddler, and gluten free myself, I trusted that recommendation completely. I will never make that mistake again. Walking in, the place was flat out disgusting. A trash can shoved directly under the soda machine, jammed against a booth, flies swarming around it like nobody had cleaned in days. FLIES. Next to the soda machine. The only open table and booths were dirty. Like, more than crumbs. We should have walked straight back out the door but we didn't, because we were exhausted and had a 3 hour drive home, and we thought, "How bad could it be?" Incredibly bad, it turns out. The "gluten free" crust was thin, flimsy, and burnt around the edges. And the aftermath has been brutal. My toddler and I have both been glutened so badly we are sick, in pain, and completely wiped out the day after what was supposed to be a fun family trip. Instead of beach memories, I'm nursing my kid through cramps and misery because this place could not be bothered to handle allergen prep or basic cleanliness properly. If you have celiac disease or a real gluten allergy, stay far away from this place. Whatever cross contamination is happening in that kitchen is dangerous, not just inconvenient. I don't care how many people recommend it, the risk is not worth it. We will never go back, and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid it too. read more

They go above & beyond, letting us order their incredibly delicious Sicilian pizza-- as long as we give them at least 24 hours notice. The crust is to-die-for, thick & perfectly chewy. We got takeout pizza from here. When we were ordering online, we were a bit confused as to what bk bacon was, but learned it was breakfast bacon after calling. We got a large cheese, pineapple, and bk bacon pizza and a sausage and mushroom calzone. I found the pizza to be pretty fine, however, the calzone was amazing. The fennel in the sausage was just right and the whole calzone was creamy and delicious. While I liked the pizza, I really loved the calzone. I highly recommend asking for extra marinara on the side for the calzone because it's pretty huge. read more

Solid pizza, whether you want a whole pie or by-the-slice. Most shops like this (in my experience) do not have a lot of offerings for pizza by-the-slice beyond pepperoni, sausage or cheese, but Lazzara's has tons to choose from. The sandwiches are great too - especially the chicken sub with bacon and ranch. I've tried the spaghetti, and it was ok, but that's not really why you go to a pizza shop, so I'll cut them some slack there. Lazarra's gets a solid 4-stars from me! read more

My brother really wanted to try the godfather 2ft pizza so he had some delivered to the house. 4 of us decided to go eat in the restaurant which has a few booths and a table that will fit about 6-8 people. The crust was crispy but also kinda soft and chewy. Their garlic knots were huge like the size of giant Cinnabons. There is a self serve drink fountain if you eat it. I was working my way down the North Carolina coast when I decided it was time to stop for lunch. I wasn't looking for anything fancy or expensive so I decided that a slice of pizza would be a good choice. I just happened to see this restaurant as I was going down the road so I decided to stop in. Nice small little neighborhood pizza place. Obviously very popular with the local working crowd which is always a good sign to me. The small display case in the front of the store was packed with great looking food! I decided to have two slices of pizzas, a slice of meat lovers and a slice of mushroom, and a drink. They were both very good with ample toppings. In reality one slice of their very, very large pizza was a lot of food. Would I go back there again when I'm in the area? - absolutely!! There's a limited amount of indoor seating and for those that want to eat outside there's plenty of outdoor seating as well! read more

I ordered an Italian sub and a salad with ranch dressing. When I got there to pick it up I saw they had slices so I wanted to try a bite of their pizza. The slice was over $4.00. They heated it and I tried it right away. The crust was so hard I couldn't eat it. The actual pizza had a decent taste. The sub was so plain and the deli meat tasted so cheap. The bread was average. The onions on the salad stunk so bad. They were comparable to hot dog onions and not red onions. The worst of all was the ranch dressing. Probably the worst ranch I ever had. Even bad ranch is good. This was awful. Tasted like creamy Italian. The interior is a small, dingy place. The servers were nice and even called me about a question with my order. I will definitely not be eating here again. I would ask for your pizza to be a little bit more cooked when I got it. The dough was very chewy and a little bit undercooked and I would ask for the garlic knots as well to be cooked a little bit longer because it's very doughy and it just needs to be cooked a little longer the service was great. This is the crap pizza of my dreams. Like, it's not amazing. It's not any particular style. Maybe New England generally, pseudo new york, maybe a bit of greek diner. Garbage toppings, but tasty ones. Same with the rest of the menu. They have mastered the genre. Impressive especially in a location with such absolute nasty dirt as Michelangelo's continuing to exist. Like, how? I really feel a bit bad doing 4 * due to how well they accomplish their thing (tm), but their thing (tm) is sooooo unambitious. There's a historical bit of early pandemic times that makes me also itchy about this. But they sell good stuff by the slice, they have silly large pizzas available, and their tomato and garlic slices are the shit. Thank you, Lazzara's.
